    pep‘s tactics are successful because he doesn’t use just one shape or set up. Sometimes he switches to a 4-2-4 and a 4-4-2. there’s a constant change in shape.
    rdz shape struggles against teams that don’t press, the whole reason why his system work so well is because teams ball for the slow build up.

    Why is everyone making pep’s box midfield looking like a new thing. He has been doing this since his second season with man city. Delph used to step in midfield. Even at Bayern he used to do it with kimmich

      It is indeed a new thing, initially he always use 2-3 base, he using that shape since Bayern times when he realized that Bundesliga teams used central counter attacks... Alaba and Lahm used to invert into midfield roles... the 3-2 (Box) shape was first implemented around 2020....
