7v7 Active stretching warm-up, leading to ball warm-up (in the description).

  • Using a squad of 12 players for a 7v7 tournament.
    In two lines, players run in and out of each other:
    High knees, heel flicks, hopping (driving the knee), open the gate, close the gate, lunges, run (around the outside of the cone & touching the cone before changing direction), do this three times, at 50%/75%/100% of top speed
    We run in and out of each other (one person from one line, then one from the other) as it requires players to communicate and for them to be observant enough to synchronise their movement within the time and space they have.
    The point of the warmup is not only to get the body working but to ensure that players' minds are engaged in the activities that they are doing and focused on their team and not other things.
