- My first backpacking trip in almost eight months! My buddy Brian and I head into the Hoover Wilderness for three days and two night to shake the rust off and get reacquainted with backpacking.

Thank you for the kind words! I’ve been experimenting with editing techniques and find I really enjoy that aspect of making these videos. This one was a “proof of concept” in a way haha.
Beautiful scenery, Jim. Good to see you out again. I agree, snow makes everything harder. Janet & I were within 1/4 mile of our destination when we made the decision to turn around. She’d forgotten her yak tracks and the final hill was so snow covered I worried about her making it back down. She fell twice on the way back as it was. Spring hikes…❄️❄️❄️
It always tough to turn back, but it’s usually the right call. Snow makes moving efficiently and trail finding more difficult.
Its like riding a bike...u never forget. You may feel a little wobbly at first, but u quickly remember after a few miles. Great video! I like how you narrate the video.
Thank you! I’m trying some new things with my video editing. The overdubbed narration gives me more opportunity to say the right things haha. I can get tongue tied on trail trying to explain things.

We’re doing good! Still up in the air if Kiki will be able to join me on the trails again. Her diet and medication is pretty restrictive.

It was good! Definitely took a few miles to get back into the swing of it. But it was nice to be out walking and sleeping under the stars.
