While the merits of their musical prowess can be fairly disputed between fans, these famous rock bands bring a certain American flair and bravado that other bands from different countries don't have. Almost all of the American bands on this list should be household names among rock fans and there should be few, if any surprises on this list.
A range of American cities are represented here. Bands from Los Angeles are the most populous here with classic rock bands like The Doors and Van Halen, as well as Guns N' Roses, The Beach Boys, Rage Against the Machine, and The Eagles. Due to the popularity of grunge in the early '90s, Seattle is well represented. Famous bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains are included on this list. There are metal bands (Metallica), hard rockers (Aerosmith, Alice Cooper), psych bands (Grateful Dead, Phish), punk outfits (The Ramones, Green Day) and even funk bands (Sly and the Family Stone, Prince) that are on this list. I was watching a documentary on Elvis on PBS & they said The Elvis estate made 47,000,000 million dollars that year (2016) What is wrong with these young programmers. They absolutely don't research 😫

They were on another one that I just watched a second ago and the Beatles were worth 2.3 billion. However, individually, John was worth 700 million. Ringo was worth 300 million, George was worth 400 million, and Paul was worth 1.3 billion. The Rolling Stones are worth 950 million. I think is what I remember seeing.
Oh and Queen wad on there too but I can't remember what they were worth. Sorry.

You guys are talking about what elvis was worth..it was around 20million..his manager took half of Elvis earnings..but 20 million was alot of money back when elvis was alive..if he was still alive today..he would be worth more..

~The very worst band that I saw on the list was “Nine Inch Nails” as they have dreadfully horrible garbage music.
~It is supposed to be for American bands but 4 of the bands had 1 Canadian member in them:: Three Dog Night (drummer, Floyd Sneed), CSN & Neil Young, The Mamas & Papas (Denny Doherty), and BS & T (lead singer David Clayton Thomas).
~Fleetwood Mac was not included I guess because they have 3 British band members and 2 American band members.
