I've had several courses of NHS therapy for issues very similar to yours, and I've just recently had a few sessions of private hypnotherapy but I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.
I've always thought I'd love to have regular private therapy but never really considered it as something I'd be willing to spend money on until I was older/had a career, but recently I've been thinking about it more.
When I did NHS therapy I found having that time and space to just talk about my own thoughts, issues and experiences really beneficial, but then it would always turn into them trying to 'cure' my issues (in about 8 sessions! NHS does not offer long enough treatment in my experience). Maybe private therapy would offer that space for me to process things more slowly.
Thanks for sharing your experiences, it's really good to hear a different perspective! x

My problem with my therapist is we don't discuss ways on how to battle my binge eating disorders, how I got there after being raped, dealing with my anxiety and depression. We just sit there and stare at each other, so I stopped going all together. I'll deal with this shit on my own as I have done all my life.

I really appreciate you sharing your experiences..
I've had some experience with therapy one whilst in UNI and another very recently and they were both 'ok' i've also just had my Thyroid removed as a result of it getting too large and i feel so much better ( not only can i breathe properly again but my anxiety seems to be much better)
It's still there tho and this video has really pushed me to get in contact with a therapist again!

It's great to hear the experiences of someone else who's had therapy. I've been in therapy on and off for 4 years (free uni therapy, NHS CBT, and private counselling), and have been going about every week for the past year and a bit for private counselling. I love it so much. I really value that time where I can actually be listened to, and have made enormous strides in dealing with trauma and eating disorder/disordered eating recovery.

Do you have any good habbits that help your anxiety?
