One point you guys forgot to mention is click fraud. Click fraud is a very big problem with Etsy ads. Your competitors will sit there all day and drain your ad spend. It’s a problem no one talks about.
I do not find this to be a problem, however it might just be my category. A very competitive category this could absolutely be a problem.
I know that sometimes i deliberately click on my competition adds just to see what they are doing and also burn up some of there add money but im not going to spam the adds and just click till there budget runs out.
@@islandwills2778how can a shop owner possibly be doing such a mean spirited and malevolent act to burn up other shops’ success in their ad campaign. Are your products so inferior that you feel you need to resort to such tactics? Shame on you. Your time would be better spent on improving your own shop and products so that you could rely on your own success rather than destroying others’ good work.

I am a mostly digital shop. I’m experimenting with POD which is where I’m trying ads. But I have one digital that I run ads on because it’s a $20 bundle. To your point, I have sold other digitals in my shop from clicks on that bundle. Thanks for the great video. I think about ads in a whole different way now!

Very interesting video!! I watched the replay and have heard things that I had no idea about. I now have a plan to go back to my Etsy Ads and see what the details are to determine if I am wasting Ad money on a few products that I don't get a lot of views on. I am a new shop - about a month old - only had 3 sales - but I am leaning from you and Chris and hope to ramp up soon.

Question, if you know the answer. In the Everbee price calculator, there's a field where you can factor etsy ads into the calculation. Do you put in what your pee day budget is? But that would be the budget for all items you're running ads on, not just the item you're calculating a price for. So...maybe your daily budget isn't what you put in there?
Ads please I tried your method yesterday and noticed my views went up tremendously and I got a sale. Yes I was recently at a $100 budget and some days I would spend 20 dollars but no sales or spend 8 dollars and get a sale. I had everything on ads which I thought was a good thing, but the way you break it down makes sense. Thank you for all your videos and your expertise! I can’t wait to see what kind of data in 14 days so I can scale up to tier 2

I started with $10 a day Sunday evening and it’s brought in 3 sales so far! Also have had a lot of views/favorites on other products that hadn’t been seen before I turned on the ads. I started my store I Nov 2023 with items I have in stock at home and started with POD in early January. I haven’t had any POD sales yet but have sold products I have on hand. I really like the ads advice you provide!!! Thank you 🙏

Advise on what to do differently to improve sales... I had 1,900 views and only 42 clicks and 1 order on the item that is using most of the ads spending in the last 30 days 🙏
I loved this video thank you ❤ since I discovered you months ago, I've been turning off keywords that aren't relevant or are just too broad (like home decor). However, all the ones I said were not relevant, are still all coming up still on the 30 day ad stats - even though I turned them "off" months ago. Is this normal? Are we telling etsy that they're not relevant but they can decide to just use them anyway?
Such good advice, yeah. Etsy Ads are very important and these discussions and direction for sellers really clarify.
Where do you find what keywords are being chosen?

How do you…I don’t know but when I made my account. It said I could save all my info about my address and everything and when I did it wouldn’t let me go back and change it. And it wouldn’t send me the 3 digit code..
I paid a lot of $$$ for ads and over the last three months on Etsy I only got ONE sale! I wonder how truthful people are about this whole Etsy thing.

I think I finally optimized enough to turn over a decent return on my ads spend. Before I was barely breaking even. I removed some listings and tried turning off certain keywords. The sales are finally 3-4 times my ad spend. Do you recommend raising my budget? I’m considering raising it to my max. I currently have the budget set at $100 but it doesn’t always spend it.
For another healthy soda alternative, Poppi is really tasty, too.
I think I tried that one, but it tasted like fake sugar and I'm not a fan of diet soda :-) Thanks for the recommendation

Your videos and Podcasts (I LOVE) are so incredibly helpful and informative! I have been running $5 a day across 60 listings. Etsy prompted me to go up to at least $6.50 a day and I’m now getting less views and visits. Do you know why this may be the case? I am considering going back to $5 a day if it’s the same by next week. **I ran $10 a day last month for 2 weeks with the same results 🤔 I appreciate your insights.
it's unlikely that the budget increase decreased your views and visits, but if you aren't spending it, there's no reason you can't drop it back down.
Question: how could we find out the keywords that buyers search for all visits/views, not only from Etsy ads, but also from other sources like etsy app and other pages, Etsy searches etc.? Highly appreciated!
I mean, for example, my shop has 100 visits per day, wherein 40 comes from etsy app and other pages, 20 from Etsy search, 15 from Etsy ads, and 25 from other sources of social media/ direct traffic etc. For the 15 from ads, I watched your other videos and know how to check the keywords driving in those clicks. But what about the 40 from Etsy app and 20 from Etsy search? Is there any way to dig out the corresponding keywords buyers typing in leading to the visits to my shop? Thank you so much for your guidance!
So useful. My account only allows me to spend $1 a day on ads! No option to increase budget
It will slowly increase after you are spending for a period of time.

I'm above 5% conversion rate but a bad search term is using my ads and I can't turn it off I mark irrelevant but yet it's still getting clicks and 0 sales fron that search term

What if u turn off a irrelevant search term but u are still using your budget up on that search term but 0 sales from the irrelevant search term that has nothing to do with your business?

for new sellers click and no sales could be no reviews. I suspect that's my issue
Etsy usually takes about a week for ads to show and 2 weeks to index and rank your product. Sometimes it's sooner.

Can Etsy adds ruin me? conversion rate click rate etc . I’m one month in 736 views 6 orders, 310 visits and have 2% conversion rate. Can anyone help I think I shouldnt run ads while it’s quiet and while I’m getting the Etsy bump because if I get so much more views and no sales won’t it ruin my algorithm. Thinking I should slow it until 4th quarter. Any thoughts ??? Side note I only sell shirts and hoodies and have 118 listings and am not pushing anyone to site anywhere just yet
Short answer no. Longer answer...if you are driving a ton of garbage traffic to your listings it "could" impact your ranking (if none of those people are converting), but that's EXTREMELY unlikely to happen unless you just run an really high budget and never trim out keywords that don't work and arent' related to your listing.

At a 1% conversion rate, I would be paying 40 - 50 dollars for one sale on a $12 item. That just doesn't work for me, even if I consider that some of that is an investment.
I'm not sure how you would get to 40-50$ since the average cost per click is typcially $0.20-$0.30 on Etsy, meaning you'd be closer to 20-30 for most products. That being said, we do talk about when it's not a fit for products AND how to increase the conversion rate. We typically average over 5% for ads, meaning you'd be making $60 for that same investment. :)
@@brandcreators I have a few products around 35 cents per click but most are in the 40 to 50 cent range, sometimes even more.

Stats section: 3062 visits; 32 orders; 1% conversion; 751.06 revenue
