- This is my take on this beautiful piece of music from Steve Vai's latest album.
Please check out my own compositions on Audius: audius.co/nfbo...
Technical details:
I recorded the whole song three times and used the best parts of each take.
Guitar:
Ibanez Jem 70V-SFG (modded with slightly scalloped frets, Fernandez Sustainer 101 among other things)
Amp:
Kemper Profiler (Erik Stam Carvin Legacy profiles)
I used the Whammy- and Wah-Wah-effects of the Kemper.
This is the first time I've seen someone cover this track. Great job! It's always touching and inspiring to see someone take the time to learn one of my songs and play it so well. Many thanks. The more you play it, the deeper you can go. Go man go. Steve
Steve, thank you so much for your kind words of appreciation! It has always been a great pleasure for me to play your compositions for over a decade now and it will continue to be so in the future. I can not overestimate your compositional- and guitar-wise influence on me. Right now I am really looking forward to the recordings of your orchestral compositions.
All the best! Nicolai
Steve, I was in the front when I watched you play this song in Bangalore! Needless to say, I was mesmerised. Thank you so much for your music! This was especially so soothing!!
@@justtheguy27i watched him at Kolkata, it was a surreal experience

@STEVEVAIHIMSELF Did you see this?
Wow
Amazing ❤
Это очень сильная работа! Ты невероятно близок к оригинальному тону! Впечатляет все в этом видео и общая мелизматика, и работа whammy pedal, wah и whammy bar.
Это было великолепно!
Fantastic song, very smooth.
Amazing cover, 100% executed

@@plastijoker9137 Muchas gracias. No, no gano dinero con este video.
Great cover brother.... Keep it up
This is such a complex song to play and it was really fun watching you play through. What a beast of a player you are brutha. Your tone sounded incredible as well. Outside of the obvious Whammy and Digitech pedals whats giving you your tone? Are you playing through a modeler or a traditional amp?
Thanks for watching! It is actually only the Kemper Profiler I use. The profile is called "Erik Stam Carvin Legacy", right from the Kemper library. Only slightly tweeked in the amp section by me (I like to add some direct signal to give the tone more 'bite'). Wah and Whammy are also in the Kemper, controlled through an expression pedal. What might also play a part: As you can see in the calmer sections I tend to use the middle single coil pickup, which Steve virtually never uses but it works for me.
Excelente!
What kind of whammy pedal u use? And what is your settings? Thx 4 cover, u avesome!!
Thanks. I used only the internal effects of the Kemper (including the Whammy). The profile is called "Eric Stam Carvin Legacy".
This is so clean! Nice job man. Where did you get the backing track? I’d love to learn the easy stuff to it. I’ll leave the complex parts to you and Steve haha.
Thanks man! Just PM me via email and I will send the backing track to you. I created it out of the original song by using "moises.ai". It splits the instruments and you can then mute the guitar. Works VERY well on most tracks I have used it on. So if you have more songs you need a backing track from give it a try.
None of it is very easy, if you want to achieve the right tone.
I can't stop watching your cover but one question where can I find this profile I can't find it by name in your description. Can you send a profile especially this profile I kan pay you:))))
In Rig Exchange search for "Legacy414". There should be three (very similar) profiles listed, all by author Erik Stam. I used the "Legacy414HG3" (the one with Cabinet Model "JVM OD1 Orange")
@@NFBOfficial Tanks a lot mate! Cheers
@NFBOfficial And with the wah pedal and all the effects did you do that by yourself?
@@hermankarels932 Yes. I only used the Kemper effects (Wah: Cry Baby Preset), Pedal Pitch (5th up), some Delay and Reverb.
Absolutely gorgeous. Not perfect in a good way, put some of your own feel and tone.
what is your email? can you please send me the bakcing track? thanks!!🙏🙏
Find my e-mail on my Audius-page, link in the description, (I do not want to post it here to avoid spam). I will send you the backing track then.
