First time I held him, he wrapped his tail around my waist and placed his head softly on my shoulder. 20 yrs together, we’ve been through a lot, traveled everywhere together, he never once hissed. Did do all of the rest regularly. Rip!!! I will always love you, my beautiful boy.

Many yrs. ago I had the most beautiful black lab., with a heart and soul like no other. Or so I felt him to be to me. We also had a love I can never forget, 16 yrs. we had, I thought my heart would never recover. So I got a cat.

Same here. All my cats do 2-5, but never hissed at me. They hissed at spooky/dangerous animals that entered my home though. My cats aren't just my friends, but they're also my guardian angels. My condolences to you my fellow cat person, I know exactly how it feels to lose our fur besties...❤
My cat never purred, never kneaded, only DIDN'T hiss at me while hissing at everyone else. Only followed me around. Dude was so grumpy but so loveable, got me through elementary to college.

Felines are exceptionally sensitive. One or two negative experiences, especially as a kitten could have caused this sort of defensive behavior for the rest of his life. So if someone was ever mean or hurtful to him it could have been genuinely traumatic. Most cats we think are "mean" are just completely terrified and their defence mechanisms are in high gear. (P.s. and I'm not implying you ever were mean to him. It definitely doesn't sound like that. )

Got you beat. I was living in Louisiana and started feeding a stray. Caught the flu and was down for days. When recovered, I opened the door to find a pile of Crawfish and rodents at my step. Lil man was trying to feed me like I did him. Let him inside after that and have him for 10 years now.

Except the hissing, yes...my cats do these all the time. ❤❤❤❤❤ They only hiss if there's something spooky/dangerous happening. They saved me from scorpions, giant centipedes, monitor lizards, chivets, and even snakes countless times. I live alone in a sub-rural area near a huge cemetery complex, so my cats are not just my friends, but also my guardian angels. ❤
Giant Centipedes are extremely dangerous, be careful.

Mine hisses if you look at him sideways! He doesn't like to be touched unless he gives permission and even then, it's pet at your own risk! Oven mits help!

My cat has never hissed at me and she doesn’t kneed and doesn’t drape her tail. (I have cats in the past who did kneed and their tails.) She does, look me directly in the eye, her tail is always upright, and she checks my bedroom every night at the same time and makes sure all is well in her territory.

Ok, Good! My big boy isn't fully domesticated, we're working on him trusting humans & understand petting & love. He's attacked me plenty before, but he's always doing both tail things, needing me & he does let me give him a quick hug sometimes too. I can't wait for the day he jumps into my Lap & doesn't leave 🥰🐈
Me too my cat is mean . I've always been good to her . She is my moms cat but I visit and she likes me. My step-dad is so mean to her . She is abused by him he yells at her and she hides alot . But when I get there she runs to me .
We have 2 post-feral cats. One arrived at age 2 and within a month, was sitting in my lap. Sh e is a Velcro kitty, but even after 18 years, cannot tolerate being picked up, but when we are sitting, she runs right over.

Kitty #2 was 4 years old. It has taken much longer for her to accept teepee living. She added signs of increased comfort one by one. (The first time she let me tickle her cheeks, I cried.) 4 years later, she will sleep near me at night, but sleeps ON my partner. If either of us tries to pick her up, she flees in a hissy panic. She may never tolerate that.

most of them, one of our girls also is very vocal and has a ton of different meows, like if you make a tent under your legs with a blanket she runs right in and lets out a chirpy meow but its the same one every time for that it sounds pretty happy lol
My cat purres, kneads, upright tail, rarely belly exposure, tail draping and super rarely hissing i hope he lives longer i still have my cat hes 16, his bread normally gets 10-12 he needs medication bc his heart is weirdly placed which means his heart beats unregularly so he needs medication daily and everyday im glad hes still with us his name is also Dante its a strange german name cuz im from austria

I sometimes worry that i am not a good cat mom because i sometimes neglect my own care because of neurodivergence and emotions. But every morning, my cat cuddles with me, kneading on my arm before laying down on my face, and every time he approaches me, his tail goes up in the air and sometimes it even vibrates. Every time he does that I melt.

And she always waits for me on the road and watch me walking.after I'm done i sat beside her and she just calmly come near me and play with me for minutes then i come back to my room.this is our everyday routine now❤❤❤ i love her

After leading me in the direction I'm going in, my sweetie flops in my path and DEMANDS belly pets, and won't stop until I give them to her.
I have a cats only pillow at the head of the bed, and my girl loves to take advantage of it for loves, pets, and draping her tail as we snuggle. She's currently on this pillow, but low enough to slide under my head, trying to be MY pillow! Not sure why she wants to be my pillow, but she does.

As far as I'm concerned my cat is pretty happy with my existence. My dog died due to poisoning and my gradma letting her out way too much, then 2 kitties arrived in a very short time. The one that stuck with me is definetly half-siamese and basically stood all day behind a curtain in the sofa when not doing the essentials. We kinda growed together and she latched onto me like a mosquito, she now follows me basically everywhere and seeks me for protection everytime she thinks that she can't handle the object of fear

My cat did everything
My cat was born in the wild and when she was very young. A hawk grabbed her tail and ended breaking it so her tail looks like a question mark and has never grown. She can't wrap her tail around things at all. She has tried before when she rubs against my leg. She is the most talkative and friendly cat ever

My cat was basically nonverbal, didnt make much sound and he was pretty traumatized from his kitten era. He despised/avoided everyone except me, and used to wait outside for me to carry him over the doormat (which he hated walking on). I took that as a sign of love. He also didnt really like being handled but he would always come lay on me if i was crying.
Edit: he also used to follow me a part of the way to school, and would be waiting on top of the garden steps for me when i came back. Damn, i miss that guy!

My cat never ever hissed at me, he was so protective over me though. He wouldn’t let me be outside alone, he attacked dogs that played with me (including my dog when we first got her) because he thought they were attacking me (he would sleep in the attic, I would be on the first floor, and he’d be there in less then a second to chase the puppy away) and wouldn’t let anyone near me when I was sad unless I told him it was ok. He’d sleep on my stomach every night. I miss him so damn much, in two months it will be a year since I lost him. He was 17 years old.
