Biggest mistake was my wife taking our 8 mo old Bengal outside. Once he got a taste for outside, that was it... he had to go out every day or he'd be unbelievably difficult. We ended up taking him for daily leashed walks for the first 3 years, then, due to our health issues, we started letting him out on his own. I got him an Apple AirTag so we could monitor where he was. Just after his 6th birthday, he was hit by a car and we had to put him down. I never cried so hard. He was my best friend ever and we had a real connection. Smartest cat I've ever seen or heard about with a personality never before seen. This happened 8 mos ago and I'm still in disbelief.
and that is why i will never let my bengal go outside alone.

@@300linkzor Thanks. That was the plan, but you do know how manipulative Bengals can be. Martin would terrorize our other cat Lucy til he got what he wanted and Lucy had become fragile in the last year. We also had some medical issues too. It was multiple factors that led to him being trusted enough to go out alone. Plus he understood cars from being walked on a leash.... and yet. Thanks again for your wishes.

The “I miss being an only child” is exactly what Ezra was feeling.
Ezra and Nova are truly delightful. Their humans are excellent videographers, skilled story tellers and accomplished inter-species diplomats. The sound effects are - just right. Not too much - not too little.

I just love these 2 fur babies. It doesn't take too long before they're good friends. My dog was afraid of our cat and never got over it; He was a very loving, quiet dog and our cat was not; Will love to see what comes next. Much love.

The trouble is, it just seems like when you ( or at least me ) buy a pure bred, weather it be a cat or a dog, they always seem to have some health issues that are associated with that particular breed, give me the mutt or the half breed, less health issues, but he is one nice looking cat though, I'll say that.
They are going to be such good friends - she will enjoy walking him as she grows.

Even my dog was terrified when a new cat came home, after 1 week they were sleeping together on the couch! Now they're best friends! and keep each other company when I go to work! A big kiss from Italy
Had a Maine Coon and we got a springer spaniel pup. Our Maine Coon Patches was iffy about her for the first week then decided she was his kitten. They'd snuggle up together even when she finally out grew him (barely). He was super protective of her too so when other dogs would get aggressive with her all she'd have to do was yelp and you'd see a giant ball of pissed off fluff come flying in to the rescue.(and yes he ruled the neighborhood with an iron paw, all animals knew to not mess with him after the first time). Sadly she passed away at only 8 years old due to cancer from inbreeding and he lived to be 16 and passed in my lap purring happily.

Kitty Nova is so tame; her first time harness looked kinda hard and stiff but she tolerated. The outside world seemed to open her world with curiosity while Doggie Ezra goes zooming here and there like superman 😅💚

I look forward to the video that shows those two curled up together sleeping away. Ezra still seems a bit resentful, but it's good to see her slowly coming around.
They've been making good progress, gradually laying together and even playing over the last few days. It will likely take weeks/months for animals to bond, especially after Ezra has been an only child for 5 years.

May I suggest that you change to a 15- or 20-foot retractable leash as soon as Nova is responsive to the current leash?
I train my cats on a 6-foot leash so they know there is a distance limit, so they know to stop when I pull on the leash and to keep them from getting under cars, etc. On the retractable leash, a cat can run, can climb a tree, can be somewhat free to explore, can have more fun!
One of my cats was particularly adept and learned to stop as soon as he heard the click of the brake button on the leash holder. If I did not want him to explore a trail or driveway, I just clicked the brake button and he would continue on the current path, ignoring the other option with just a look.
Large part of walking a cat involves grazing 😂

Bengal cats are just awesome, my Ben ( the Bengal) sadly just passed after the vet administered the wrong anaesthetic! Bengals are very sensitive to anaesthetic so please do your research.

Just make sure Nova isn't on the ground/walking when other dogs are out. They may be prey driven and not see her as a pet but as food.
They will be blind after that tho ^^
