- Battle of the Five Armies - Azog had been planning to take revenge on the dwarves , and when the great goblin of the misty mountains was killed by gandalf and his company, and annoyed the great wargs ,the time was ripe...The goblins of the misty mountains gave there aid to the struggle and even the necromancer of Dol Guldur sent some forces north to help. Azog's forces just happened to arrive at the lonely mountain just as Bard the Bowman [& the forces of Dale],King Thranduil of the Mirkwood and the Dain of the Iron Hills[Dwarves] were about to fight over the spoils of the mountain.The scene was set to see who would gain the dragon's spoils.....

Thank you. The men in described in that battle were well trained, armored, and armed. They were assembled from the survivors of Lake Town and all the villages of men all around Long Lake. They were Not a band of ill armed, unarmored, untrained, peasants. Unlike in the movie the battle was on ground below the gates of Erebor and below the heights were Dale was situated.
Just have to say, as someone who has a busy schedule , your videos help me relax, and I appreciate your effort in every video and encourage you to keep on doing what your doing!

I love the dark comedy at 40:18 "They cant do anything their gonna die" and as you say that the trolls charge in and just before you see them hit the crossbows you move the camera away. I dunno that just played out so perfectly it made me chuckle.

In the Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies, the fact that the Orc Army didn't have any WOLVES OR WARGS in the main bulk of their army kinda dissuaded me from the Movie....
For your information I see no Wargs in the movie and they cut of the part where the Elves and Dwarves fight so yeah :(

Finally a remade of The Battle of The Five Armies with the submod! And those dwarven goat riders are badass as hell ;) and the map looks freaking amazing! In fact everything is amazing in this vid
Apollo, do you use LargeAdressAware? Due to the age of the game the .exe is limited to only utilise 2GB of RAM regardless of how many RAM you have. LargeAdressAware allows you to remove said 2gb RAM limitation and allows you to utilise all your RAM which, in my case, has prevented me from crashing out a lot whilst playing the game.

I assumed he did because it's pretty much a requirement to play the mod? Well at least with divide and conquer on otherwise it crashes every turn or so. I'm not sure how it'd affect replays though. I use it myself and it's much much better but modding communities can't promote it. Something to do with not being permitted to promote third party software that alters the game in certain ways?

I just wanted to mention that Wood Elves did eat meat. The High Elves, and the Elves of Lorien did not, as they were more cultured and civilized. If you wanted a party, go to the Wood Elves, they drink and feast like no tomorrow.
it is stated in the books that feanor's sons were hunters, so that isn't entirely true either. in truth only the elves of ossiriand are some what specified to be vegetarians

Well, you are looking at the comments of the video, where most people have watched the whole thing then write their thoughts. So there are always going to be spoilers in every one of Apollo's vids.
I was REALLY hoping for a lore friendly version... imo the movie was beyond ridiculous levels of bullshit. Earth worms? Elves backflipping over dwarves? Wtf is this? Was Peter Jackson smoking something that day? If so where can I get some?
Anyway my lotr purist rage aside... OMG NOW I REMEMBERED LEGOLAS DEFYING GRAVITY. HE WASN'T EVER TH- Uhh... I mean... this battle. Yes that's what it's about! This battle is AMAZING seriously well done loved every moment :D

Um no. It is described by tolkien that dwarves never ride mounts because they dont trust any mount. And that they only feel safe traveling on foot
I think that's simply because the Hobbit was written before Tolkien's mythology had been solidified in his own mind.
the dwarves almost never use ponies, and never in battle, they march to war on their own feet.
