- The Monster High reboot looks like it skews young... and is pure cringe. Many hardcore fans are skeptical as to whether or not this reboot is going to work, but most of the reaction online is indifference. The Monster High CZcams channel is NOT doing well. Is this an indication that this ship has already sailed?

@@tomcruisenukedmyaccount5388 For the tamales.

"Latino is when one eats tamales." - Progressive Corporate America, apparently
As a person who loves tamales : What's with these companies using them so much as representation?
It's something you'll get used to, a mental mindfuck can be nice!
@@Saltedroastedcaramel Tacos are probably too on the nose and out fashion, so they move on to tamales. I wonder what food item will be their next go-to.
Hell, they did that exact same with DC comic book covers, just shoved a ton of superheroes they claimed were latin American, and had them chowing down on Hispanic dishes. Remember the tamale bag debacle?
What these shills and stans don't get is this is _literally_ how companies view them. Diversity for companies = hamfisted stereotypes cause they seriously have no real concept of these ppl.
Hell, they did no research on Taiwan before shove that in Draculaura. Just gonna make her exactly the same look except with almond eyes and then made her shorter and fatter for some reason. No look into the beautiful culture or actually look at the Taiwanese, nope! Just squint her eyes and make her good at math, THAT'S perfect Asian rep!
Don't get me started on Ghoulia, I'm still so freaking _pissed._
Seriously, if Clawdeen doesn't love cooking, bring this shit up is just a stereotype.
@@ibi6262 Well now it's another stereotype.
If this is a show where the reboot's goal is diversity, why not take "monsters" from other cultures and implement them into the show? There's tons of Yokai such as Yuki-Onna if you want Japanese representation, or they can go for some Louisiana cryptids such as Rougarou if you want to do some black/southern stuff.
The reboot reeks of both laziness and wokeness for backpats
That would actually be interesting. Not enough for me to watch, mind you, but still...
The original had tons of different folklore representations with the webisodes and specials. Heck they even did a hybrid special called Freaky Fusion that can easily be translated to people from mixed race and cultural families. And the beautiful part about it, is that none of it was cringy.
Go check out Super Monsters.
@@suroguner They did Mexican werewolf first.
The original monster high had a lot of natural diversity
Did they seriously turn Clawdeen into a dork? They already *had* a perfectly good dork character in Ghoulia; they didn't need to revamp Clawdeen into one!
you say that like they watched or cared about the original.
I agree, it's so dumb. Wth is wrong with having a black girl with attitude and being cool? That's not stereotypical
You what would've been good, if they got new inspiration for Clawdeen from beautiful famous black people if they really wanted to revamp her, and her personality
@@Snow-xd4rv I heard Clawdeen is now like Hispanic (not quite sure)

Most animated series coming out these days are pure cringe. So this doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. lol
I know, it seems like it was made by people from Sandy Shores, Paleto Bay, or the entirety of Blaine County in GTA5
Already dont watch live action and all the animated shows i watched are either cancelled OR GONE LIKE THIS MONSTROSITY.
AFAIK, the only ones that ain't cringe come from the Land of the Rising Sun.
Oooh no that right there remaking X-Men animation was my favorite in the 90s I cringe to hear about what Disney might do too that series 🙁
They're written by people with no understanding of entertainment.
Companies think doing blatant nostalgia will be good enough to keep their profits rolling. When in reality, that only works when it's done well.
TMNT 2003, Transformers Prime, He-Man 2002 are examples of doing reboots the right way.
member berries are not nostalgia
As a mexican, I'm fucking tired of gringos reducing my culture to "that quirky food we love to take pictures of."
I miss the days when they just called me a slur and we moved on. It was less insulting.
As an american im tired of it to, for completely different reasons but still.
I still question why Mattel keeps making Clawdeen look less like a werewolf and more like an anime wolf girl.
Degeneracy
Mattel did ruin Thomas & Friends before.
Another pathetic attempt to copy anime I guess.
Because Anime sells?
Because it's cheeper to repaint a face on the model, than replace it with a better, more werewolfish sculpt
As Mexicans we don't care too much about that stereotypes, we like tamales, doing tamales is a hard long process, but we have a lot of other, and more interesting things to do stereotypes.
I know the Japanese would eat rice as like a side dish.
Dude there’s way more dishes than just tamales 🤣 I can care less about them but like cmon Mexican food is variety (menudo, pozole, chile rellenos, pupusas, chilaquiles, flautas, sopes, etc.)
What makes me angry, como mexicana de color cartón, is that they change to an already established character, I don't know why they pay so much attention to labels and races, I know this is not new to Monster High but it was more different, more natural, with a little more love. I see this a little disgusting since we already have Skelita Calaveras, even being able to make new characters taking legends, folklore and myths whether they are Mexican, Latin or from other countries to make this really inclusive but nooo.... they just opted to change everything in the stupidest and unnecessary way.
@@crystalbae0909 yep, a wasted opportunity to to had a Llorona Monster High, or a Catrina, a female Nahual, or better, some goddess like Coatlicue (literally "Skirt of Snakes"), even a Catemaco Witch...
@@SPRX77 and that is a short list.
Like I said, tamales isn't a bad stereotypez but is cliche, there is other things, things that when a Mexican see it will say "ah, they really care about representation of Mexican culture" or "well, at least they investigated a little or had a Mexican in their creative team" but tamales... isn't bad, just lazy.
I miss the original so much. It was so fun and my folklore loving geeky self was all for it. I wanted to see even more of the foreign exchange students before they stopped that side quest of the series. Plus the book series (I had all 4 books) was pretty good.
Yes. I also started watching the series for monster folklore but it sucks that they changed it.
@@ansumaanpatnaik74 it's not like they were box office success you know
@@animezilla4486 Yeah. Tough times!
The one comment you shared "This is not MH, it's Monster Grade School", fits better than anything else. They should have just created a new line of Monster dolls and been done with it.
The best that the company could do is that if they wanted to create a Monster High for children so much, then they should some kind of spin-off or that forms within the same universe of Monster High only this would be a Monster Highschool with new characters and focused only on children and talk about issues regarding that target. Imagine what classic Monster High could have been if Mattel had thought a bit, we obviously know how unlucky that was.
@@crystalbae0909 and much the pity for all at that. thank you for sharing.
Shame they missed out on the "baby x" thing. Baby monster high would've been a quick cash cow line.
@@LadyBern now there's an idea.
No they should just let the franchise DIE!! If you don't have ideas don't do anything.
I loved this growing up. All of the characters were unique and none were truely evil. (Save for a few side characters) I loved the 'Monster slang' and used that sometimes when talking to other fans of Monster High.
But now it is bastardized beyond recognition. Our beloved Ghoulia is gone. Forgotten are the characters that were introduced to include more in world lore, mythology and regions. Only echoes remain of who the cast used to be.
At least there is a youtube channel that keeps the original series on it. Unless mattel forced them to disappear as well.
Not to mention they basically full on deleted Lagoona entirely
I don't think a single person was ever asking, "Gosh! I sure would love to know the ethnicity of this monster?" They are freaking monsters! By adding all this extra, this are basically humanizing them to where they feel more like normal humans with monster paint. I agree with others that if they wanted to add more cultures, add monsters that are known in other countries. It's fun to learn about monster stories from other cultures and would be a smart way to add representation rather than watering down their current lineup.
I love that the word Tamales is just associated with Kyle now, because of DC.
Even I know there are Mexicans who do not eat tamales.
that counts as cultural appropriation, but since it's appropriation by sjw it's "ok", i swear to god...
I don’t even like tamales, and this is coming from a Mexican who got sicken tired of them cause in winter grandma made them and hardly I ate any or just wanted anything but tamales 🤣

@Someone who likes stuff (Mayk Felix) im not, the reboot goes into some interesting subjects and even though it doesn't delve into them perfectly its still good. the og was just to sell dolls and thats it
It is Glitter Force terrible. Any rainbow series in the past has been diverse, and never calls kids "stupid". Pretty Cure and Sailor Moon at least tried to pay attention to the stories and characters without using identity to be the selling point as the differences are for the sake of differentiating characters. Boys love Sailor Moon and Pretty Cure, despite only having girls to be the heroes. People are allowed to love characters and stories that are different from themselves and their lives.
Crystal got it right but people critiqued the art style
Isn't Glitter Force the english dub of Pretty Cure? How is Pretty Cure good if Glitter Force is bad, unless they made changes to it?
@@McSqueakychu Not an English dub, but an altered version that is what 4Kids are known for. Saban Brands never learned their mistake from Digimon. Accurate language translating is important in any medium in any country.
@@wendyokoopa7048 It was actually due to bad pacing in adaptation, poor implementation of the Guardian Senshi x Shitennou lore (which wasn’t conceived until well after the Dark Kingdom leg of the manga and old anime wrapped up), and a lot of egregious animation errors. @@LuigiTheMetal64 I've thought did a good job with Digimon
I just hate how lazy stuff like this has become. They were incredibly diverse and they cut out all those dolls. It’s like they took bits and pieces from other dolls to make the main ghouls more diverse. Clawdeen feels like she’s taken more of Jackson Jekyll personality when she was strong and independent. Skelita was such a interesting doll with so much culture and the just threw her away to make Lagoona Latina. I do like Frankie being non binary. That makes sense to me. But it feels like the main character has moved from them to Clawdeen.
I agree with Frankie being non binary, but it just comes off as ridiculous if she’s only 15 days old and somehow knows the constructs/social understanding of gender and identity before a burrito or high five. At least in the original it took her some time before understanding everything, including social cues.
@@isawalker4469 it’s definitely poorly executed. The live action movie handling of it in the trailer is actually painful. Frankie was always the fish out of water character. You leaned about the monster world though their eyes. Now Clawdeen seems to be fulfilling that role. I liked the new to this world Frankie learning as we learned along with them. Navigating life as someone non binary could have been something they organically worked into this new version. But here we are with a half baked idea.
Very upset with what they did to Monster High. I mean Frankie isn’t even Frankenstien’s kid anymore they’re Inspector gadget. I’m upset with Lagoona , I don’t see this show getting as big as the 1st generation
Which sucks! Because that was a big part of her lore in the OG series. I mean there was a whole movie dedicated to her family history T^T
OMG! I know poor poor Frankie, and what they did to Lagoona is also beyond sad haha. TBH i think all the new desings are SUCH A DOWNGRADE!

As a black person I'm kinda angry they made Clawdeen half black and racially ambiguous when she and her siblings were clearly fully black in g1. Like I guess a fully black character wasn't diverse enough and they had to change her..and it rubs me the wrong way how they made her furry and more dog looking when she's supposed to be half human but didn't do the same to Toralai. AND made her Jackson Jeckll with the backstory and aesthetic it makes NO SENSE. I could go on for an hour about the lazy diversity they did to the others too. Draculaura is now half Asian with no attempt to make her look like it. Like its obvious she was always meant to be a traditional translyvanian vampire, I'm sure Thailand has its own monsters and vampires they could've pulled inspo for but they had to be lazy as all hell and want to reap the benefits of diversity.
I always thought Clawdeen was Black, yeah.
Right?! They could’ve had the old crew graduate and have a new group of students come in from all over the world. African, Asian, Middle East, Europe, Native North/South America. But that would have required effort and creativity

I don't think I'd heard of it until Clownfish was bemoaning the live-action movie.
And they expect people to buy these dolls based on this show?
I honestly think it won't be very successful in children. I could be wrong but I don't think the "new generation" (as many say) is interested. I bet it will be talked about more among adult collectors, toxic fans (applied to both sides, both those who hate g3, and those who defend them to death) and children now teenagers or young adults who have grown up with them.
I'm sincere? all the essence of the brand what made it so special has gone to waste and NO, that does not justify that "iT Is f0rr nEw GėnEratiOnZ"
@@crystalbae0909 They read those articles that said Gen Z is "the most progressive generation" but they still enjoy quality, so if the show stinks, it won't take off.
@@crystalbae0909 well here today not all children are the same there is a possibility they could like this we'll have to wait and see because frankly sometimes kids have more common sense than the adults because there are some people that don't care about all this BS about politics in the show or something like that some will ignore that it just focusing on is the show Good and that's what I'm going to do focusing on if the show's characters and story
Some will you never know you can't assume everybody is going to hate it like clownfish TV
@@animezilla4486 I mean that the vast majority of children would not be interested. I'm not saying it's all kids in general, maybe I expressed myself wrong but it's just that times have changed... the majority who buy toys are more adults collectors over 20 years, not even the same children who really grew up with Monster High they do not exaggerate so much to get a single doll, I have seen videos and I have witnessed how they fight and sell out either in physical stores or online. Many children at this time are interested in video games, cell phones, tablets and technological things, yes there will be that possibility but my point is that this franchise with this new reboot will be more spoken by adults and possibly children who really grew up with them and now that they are teenagers and young adults like me.
The constant rebooting of the series is annoying. Personally, the animated Monster High series from 2010 will always be the best.

I was a teenager when Monster High came out and I have some pretty fond memories of it. I remember my first thought of it was how it was slightly unsettling, but in a way that was digestible, like Halloween.
None of the characters give that vibe now. Also they decided to change a lot of the characters in a way that totally goes against what the characters were originally about.
I’m not extremely angry, but I just know this isn’t Monster High. I don’t actually know what this is anymore.
They just don't know how to market to their true audience anymore.
Hell, that's true!
All they had to do was make the new ones the little sisters, cousins, nieces etc of the original gang. New names and backgrounds. but same vibe. Star trek had Kirk, Next Gen had Picard, both were successful but with different crews
I guess they got rid of the La Catrina based one i remember seeing decade ago and decided to make Clawdeen half Latina instead.
And make Fauxgoona not Aussie.
Skelita. Sigh she was one of my favorites. The sad part is that Skelita was a fashion designer too, just like Clawdeen, so they literally combined them both instead of two fashion designers that represent clothes of different cultures which are very interesting and unique. That’s assuming this Clawdeen is still a fashion designer, I hope not. She’d make a terrible one considering her God awful Lilys garden granny outfit

What do people not get about that simple statement anyway?!!
🙄🙄🙄
So far, one of the few franchises that can get away with reinventing characters is Transformers, and that's because it was grandfathered in.
Romulus isn't a new character, he was from the vampire vs. werewolf movie before becoming a background character.
From perspective of doll collector and customizer (but more of Ever After High and Barbie girl) - I have to admit dolls themselves looks really nice! I love chest articulation and clothes quality seems good! It all depends how much they costs, I've heard both 25$ (great price!) and 37$ (way too much). I have problem with some design choices like I feel Draculaura's hips are a bit too wide compared to torso or "standard" female dolls look like torso is too short and calves too long, but when in clothes it's really not something you notice.
But addtitional media like movie and those animated music videos so far are... very... meh. I think the problem is that characters are at the same time too similar and too different from the originals. Like, with CGI He-man reboot you can easily treat this as separate retelling, different universe. Here it's hard to see, for example, Clawdeen, as brand new character when she has the same color scheme and very similar basic design, but very different origins and personality. Also, I really dislike that Monster High is only, like 12 years old and they already treat it as outdated and needeing "fixing".
I hate that they made Clawdeen a dork.
That was never her personality. She was a no nonsense, protector of her friends , and fashion diva .
They could have made her interested in girls and that would made more sense then them making her a dork.
Also, when was she half werewolf half human?
Drive-by Pinky is amazing. She had one thing to say and used her time well.
Drive-by Pinky sounds like a movie title or something.
Why does that sound like pinkie pie from mlp doing a drive by shooting?
The problems with the new Monster High Dolls in my opinion they look...interchangeable from all the other dolls the companies are putting out. They all look so similar they don't stand out anymore!
Side note they look like the grown versions of that Netflix Baby Monsters show...they have.
Which ones?? They don't look like any of the dolls that are currently on the shelves
@@bigmac6760 They look like similar in my opinion the mermaid dolls that came out. Honestly they just look like the BLEND in with the modern dolls they have. With slight difference. We have the big eyes ,colorful hair, with pastel colors and clothing. Nothing really stands out from the rest.
Be cool scooby doo,and scoob aside, the reason scooby doo is still kicking is because they keep the characters to their core.
Hasbro need to take a course in source material.
It is not Hasbro, Hasbro at least maintains a very essential part in its characters, that happened with My Little Pony. They chose to create new characters rather than reboot something already done. I can't wait for the next beloved 1990s/2000s cartoon to be rebooted in a Kroger commercial art style 😍
The new monster high reboot feels like robot Chicken doing a parody of monster high
Yeah, even the likes of TMNT, He-Man, or DuckTales 2017, everything gets rebooted or reimagined.
The OG line of dolls was one of the best toy lines ever made. I have dozens of them. This just makes me sad.
Wow. it's like same-face Disney mitosis from the first Frozen movie
I feel stereotyped. Clawdeen ain't Clawdeen anymore. Where did that confident black werewolf girl go she looks like a freaking dork. I'm more upset that they removed to OG creator for the franchise Like what the hell?! ;-;
....what was wrong with the original message of the old show or the first remake, again?
_Oh right, it's organic inclusivity/diversity and with a good message; that's why the stans and weirdos hate it_
A pity that companies are hellbent to grind and bleed whatever they think it'll make them money if they adjust it for "modern audiences"; only ones losing are kids on this one. Wonder how long will it last until the money evaporates?
Cleo literally looks like Isabela from Encanto and Draculaura looks like Lydia from Beetlejuice
Yeah they do. Copying
Nickelodeon is pushing monster high Hard a new Movie and tv show in the same mouth the only other thing they push this hard is Loud house and Spongebob
Ah yes, I would have never known that character has a black parent and a Hispanic parent if not for their favorite food choices.
God this makes the first reboot look like a goddamn master piece
Yeah we need to go apologize to that reboot.
I never thought they could make something worse than Equestria Girls.
Equestria Girls was bad?
I mean, the first toys for it was pretty bad, but I swear Equestria Girls was pretty damn good, and was popular as hell
@@gavichealsomething2169 The movies were awful
@@micshork The movies were what made it popular

@@ToddTheTolerable No thanks. I'll pass.
All reboots now a days are crap
Thank guys. I thought I was going insane when I read the hordes of people saying they liked the new reboot on the doll collecting channels.
Paid shills/bots, pay those no mind; they don't have one anyway.
Behold! The cliffs of INSANITY!!!!!
…… And Tamales!!!
I love you Geeky sparkles when you say hello my heart smiles
If they wanted to mess with your channel name, why not change it to "Clownish TV?" Then you could tell them to get the "f" out of here. 😏 Puns, people. I got em.
Please, do you think the antis have enough brains to come up with stuff like that? Even Slow Moe could think circles around them, and he's the "dumb" zombie.
Woke takes over another ip to brokeness
Those Tamales are mild at best, and they know it.
Monster High was about being accepted regardless of what you look like, because it's about the CORE VALUES and the BEAUTY WITHIN!
It had substance and gave young tweens the tools to defend someone who is being unfairly judged!
Meanwhile the new ones are based on the STEREOTYPE of WHAT THEY SEE WHEN THEY HEAR THE PRONOUN!
They're quite literally going against the very thing that monster high built it's entire brand on!
BuUuUuUt now It's 100% based on STEREOTYPES and NOTHING ELSE!
They don't even realize😶 they have become the very thing they judged us for, close minded morality police.... but now 😏 they make Tipper Gore look like an amateur, because they are full of Funsuckery and are driving the BiGoT bandwagon over the cliff I lovingly call "Irony's b¡Tch"😐.....sigh ......
So remember to 🙏4✌️ AlWaYs and I love y'all bunches and bunches 🤗❣️🤗
As with all woke 'reboots' and 'reimaginings', this is trash.
I disagree with you
I disagree with you
I agree.
Does anyone have any armchair psych insight to why food is getting brought up more frequently? Is it the connection between food and culture?
Monster High: The curse of the Were-latinx.
My eldest used to collect those monster high dolls. I remember searching everywhere where for the "snow one" in a certain outfit and then all the boy dolls 🤣We still have have them all in the attic so if my youngest ever gets the monster high bug we are ready for it
"snow one" You talking about Abbey Bominable?
Only the rare gem of a show these days is any good the rest are written by inept activists.
Also those of us in the Bionicle community having been trying to get the original story back for 12 years now, since it was canceled and never got an ending. The fans have created their own community under the Tryna initiative to try and keep everything from the original series going
Bro the Hispanic food thing is getting to the point of portaging black characters by having them say “I love me some chicken and watermelon”
And some air jordans shooting hoops.
Everything is cringe if you look in the right angle 🤣
They ran out of relevant Boy's Shows to reboot into Woke trash, so they're focusing on the Girl's next. Barbie was already hit, so next is obviously the post-Bratz content.
Now, before anyone starts listing what the Woke weirdos missed, just remember: they don't know it exists. And keep them ignorant of that, if you cherish anything. So don't mention shows or films they haven't corrupted yet.
They're too lazy to research anything for themselves, so they're going off on what they know from pop culture osmosis. Keep everything underground.
With that said the 1st 2 series I think need to be hidden away like Gol D. Rodgers vast fortune would be Batman Beyond and Static Shock.
"Don't mention films or shows they haven't corrupted yet. They're way too lazy to do research for themselves, so they can only attack things they know about from pop culture osmosis." This is a brilliant point. If your favorite movie, show, or book is obscure, keep it that way. At least until this madness is over.
Everybody's complaining about the woke too much
I remember the last time u guys talked about this and I was like wow that’s crazy. The following day I saw an ad about them and OMG THEY’RE REAL!!! I was like no way and started busted out laughing lol
I graduated high school in 94, so I consider myself an old gangster here... but to me one of the best still is the best monster mashups that they've done (meaning any company) was Capcom when they did vampire savior / darkstalkers because it kind of had the similar theme to it where was every monster you can think of thrown into the game, except it was a fighting game a high School drama. You know but look how those characters looked! Whole generation is passed to probably don't even know what the game was anymore, but what can I say to some of this stuff?
I was born with cerebral palsy, so all my life I've been different. I can understand what that feels like, but this over sensitivity to things is nuts to me. It's okay to feel different, not to feel like you fit in, that's a natural thing.... but this victimhood thing I think is just nuts. I can't say much to this.
"Foodsies AREN'T Yumsies?!?"
-Richard Meyer's Video Title on the Latino Backlash against DC's Kyle Rainer having nothing but a Grocery Bag of Tamales to signal that 'He's a Latinx'
Bro Monster High dolltwt is the worst. Before the reboot was announced they were all for G1 and defended it against other brands and the G2 reboot but now with this reboot they act as if G1 was the most awful thing to ever come out and the new one is so much better cause of the changes. Liking G3 is fine but they act as if the first MH was the scourge of the earth. Mattel stans are a different breed.
The original MH was popular for a reason. A reason these people clearly didn't get. They've gutted the characters and tried to pass off these uninspired shells as Monster High and it just won't go over well.
My daughter (6 years old) is a huge fan of the original shows. I can't buy the dolls for her because it is so expensive. But whatever twitter says, I know that she is not going to be crazy about the new show. I'll keep putting on the older movies and shows, and read the books just for her.
GEN 3 is beyond tragic. It's ugly to look, it's cringe to listen too, it's lazy and tired. Monster High was already full of diversity....I mean they were all monsers, duh. Making the characters fat or non binary shows how very little imagination the people in charge of the line have.
So who wants to tell Mattel that werewolves originated in Northern Europe which makes their depiction of a Latin character even more of a racist stand in?
Werewolves and witches are extremely big in South America. So are aliens.
I really don't want to be that person but ... Werewolves in Mexico are known as the Nahual or Nagual. (Both are pronounced Na’wal). And in South America you have the Lobizon, coming mostly from Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
Oh so because there is a Hispanic version of a werewolf that isn’t the original (and I’m pretty sure isn’t what the people behind this show are aiming for) that means it’s ok for this character to be a racist stereotype?
@@octo-generaljones8691 No! God no! Not in the slightest! But if by some bizarre happenstance that is what they are trying to go for, they failed. Horribly I might add!
Indeed. Not to mention, it feels like this was just put in for the sake of diversity as opposed to being for the sake of actually including a Latin character. They could have made a Hispanic character out of a monster from Latin mythology. Chupacabra, painted skeletons, Quetzalcoatl, haitian zombies.
But making the pre-established character race swapped into a stereotype, when they could have used a single ounce of effort to make something new and possibly creative just feels insulting.
Is Hollywood’s idea of representation just giving a minority version of a white character’s sloppy seconds?
Why is it they want to portray Hispanic person they always go to tacos and tamales not all Hispanic people are Mexican to this day I still don't understand what the heck refried beans I called refried beans cuz they're just squished and stuck in a can
I feel like the original 1st generation was more cultural representation, this reboot forcing diversity while being generic and putting no effort into the characters or the message that made Monster High so lovable is why it's hated so much.
Felicia Day wrote a blog post during GameGate saying that she saw two guys wearing Halo t-shirts on the street, and she crossed to the other side.
That trailer of Monster High looked like something Robot Chicken would do!
Oh! Speaking of, Robot Chicken actually had a parody skit of I Know What You Did Last Summer, starring Barbie, Bratz and Monster High... the way the vampire chick was animated looked more fluid than that reboot trailer's animation.
1. I find it funny that I am working on a custom monster themed doll :))
2. Old monster high was naturally diverse and I feel like the reboots approach on diversity is way more forced and un natural, we had exchange students from different parts of the world with folk lore of that country. It’s was amazing and I do agree Clawdeen is odd with her rebrand, the concept isn’t bad but it would have been better as a new character.
3. I love your take on the current issue and even if I am not a fan of all the designs I DO like that they have new body types, I will be getting Draculara tbh out of all of them and waiting till they re release the old designs.
Hey, if the dolls are good for customizing, might as well. Doesn't mean that's Draculaura, but if the construction of the dolls is good, it's worth it for customizers.
Interesting that you like the new body types because to me they strictly strike bad memories. They just get me back in childhood frustration where clothes from different dolls didn't fit to each other and how annoying that was. I had only clothes that came with the dolls because my parents refused to get anything else and I loved to mix and mach. With barbies that made the majority, it worked out great but when we had a singular doll from something it got me almost in tears because the best part got taken away. I did some of my own clothes but being a little kid they were nothing as good that came with the dolls.
@@13thMaiden personally I always like to see how doll artists work around other body types and it’s not out of the odds that current day doll customizers have added their own shapes and body mods to dolls. I see her body as cute and plush personally but that is coming from someone irl who is not fat but shaped in that regard. I find the body mold enjoyable from an artist and personal standpoint.
@@idaaho that’s pretty valid. Looking back on it as a kid it was hard to match it when dolls were different but now a days right there are some amazing doll clothes making videos and ya it’s not the best but I am assuming they will be selling alt outfits for the dolls like they did gen 1 at least.
wow. As a big MH fan from the very beginning I'm just disappointed.😔 also first.
