How many roundhouse kicks has Shadow done in his lifetime? Sonic '06: Chaos... CONTROL! (Roundhouse kicks Silver) Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric: (Roundhouse kicks Tails into a time hole and jumps in after him) Sonic Forces: Chaos Control! (Roundhouse kicks his duplicate and roundhouse kicks Infinite) Shadow really loves roundhouse kicks.
Anyone else catch Omega's "Damage to parietal lobe region" line? The parietal lobe is the part of the brain that deals with sensory information, which implies that the effects of the Phantom Ruby have damaged his sensors, making it impossible for him to distinguish between reality and Infinite's illusions. Kind of weird that they're implying his brain functions similarly to an organic brain, but it's a neat little line, even if it is treated as an off-the-cuff thing.
Something about Infinite's "reunion" with Shadow really bothers me. Like, you're a villain with the ability to literally manipulate reality going up against a character with one of the most tragic back stories of anyone in the entire series and you don't even decide to play that up? For goodness sake, hit Shadow where it hurts you masked clown! Make him feel just as weak and pathetic as you did after he beat your face in! This is how it should have went: Instead of putting Shadow into a virtual version of the future Green Hill zone, take Shadow back to his weakest moment: the night of GUN's raid on the Space Colony ARK. That would have even have the added bonus of giving players a chance to play through a level themed around the ARK, which is something I'm sure a lot of SA2 fans would have appreciated. Then, upon beating the level, Shadow then gets to relive the painful moment of being completely powerless to save Maria. In fact, let's take the psychological torment a step further and keep playing that memory of Maria's death on a loop for Shadow until he's a broken, emotional wreck. At this point Infinite could say something to the effect of this before walking away victoriously: "You were created the ultimate lifeform, but instead you ended up the ultimate failure! Oh well, in time, that matter anyway! HAHaHAHaHAHaa!" - The true Infinite. Maybe that was too edgy for the kids? I mean, they mention Sonic was tortured, and I don't think this kind of interaction would really surpass that.
Nat The Porcupine dollars to doughnuts, Infinite never knew Shadow's backstory. He still could've asked Eggman about it, but i suppose he figured that he was so strong now that he didn't need anyone's help in breaking Shadow...
The whole game concept was a mistake. Sonic mania had a contrasting tone and it turned to be better than this one in almost every way (except graphics of course). Sonic needs a deeply fun tone with a really menacing villain to balance that. (The sonic movie guy will voice sonic in games since Roger Craig is retiring, so we might get something really good voice work).
This is definitely a better thought for the back story, too bad sega is just making the sonic games more childish each day. Like when you see sonic in his cell after being “tortured” for months he’s normal like he could of at least been in a more devasted state. Also is infinite was trying to show shadow that he isn’t weak he should of tried to direct his attacks to shadow more then sonic. Ik egg man telling him to beat sonic but he feels like this cuz of shadow and the boss battle at the end could have been him and shadow or something because infinite feels like this because of him
Torture is just a word, because it clearly didn't happen. Sonic wasn't hurt, not a hair was out of place, and he didn't look shaken or weakened at all. Actually, the first thing he did after he was released was beat the shit out of one of the clones, which he did with no effort whatsoever.
It's sad because Shadow is finally a heroic badass again (took them only 11 years...), yet the game didn't live up to the expectations... Oh well, at least the soundtrack did.
I personally don’t think the game is that bad, in my opinion longer stages and more intense boss fights would have done the trick. Also adding a bit to the mechanics would have been a great decision for the gameplay, but overall still not a horrible game like most sonic fans think.
Brandon Stanley So you like the half-assed and lazy pretentious writing that tries to present this faceless bitch as the new badass, without giving us actual reasons to give a shit about him ? And no, Shadow didn't take his eye. They just released the new comic showing what he and the Jackal Squad look like. He's still a stereotypical bitch with no motivation. The only thing about the eyes I noticed is how this in-game model is so poorly made it doesn't have neither mouth or eyes.
Now I know that a lot of people have complained with Infinite's origin story, and I have to say that this was actually clever on Sega's part that Infinite has a deep inferiority complex and he's hyping the hell out of himself. For the mental breakdown part Shadow KILLED all of his squad and even though they weren't competently innocent. There's also the implication that Infinite cared for his squad and he tried to avenge their deaths only to fail miserably and having Shadow mocking Infinite for his failure. This scene shows that Infinite is beginning to lose his mind to the effects of the Phantom Ruby even though Shadow didn't call him weak Infinite still reads it as being called weak. Eh it's not the best backstory that Sonic team could come up with, but it's better then The Deadly Six who were just there in Lost world and Lyric who was a pathetic excuse for a villain.

I'll be honest guys. The only reason why I want Sonic Forces is because of Episode Shadow. I just never grew out of thinking he was cool. I may sound really stupid but hey, I freaking love Shadow. Now to see if Sonic Forces Bonus Edition becomes easy to get once the price lowers like Sonic Lost World did.
He's literally got the most stable story out of any of the cast why would liking his character be considered stupid even if they stopped having him around after SA2 he'd still be a fan favorite I think
Shadow got ruined in 05 (not 06) it showed him with max Edge on In sa2, heros and 06 he is not edge lord Just dealing with trauma/keep a promise Who he is/is he real And a future with him detained by his friends He's just unsocial but the most loyal character In games He's never was a edgelord but for now he is
The voice acting for this game is wonderful. Shadow's voice actor from Boom is perfect. Although i did like his voice a lot in '06, but i could barely hear what he was saying a lot in the game. So im glad they kept the same voice actor from Sonic Boom for Shadow.
So the big mystery of who Infinite was... that SEGA hyped up for MONTHS... is a random guy that just was introduced into THIS game not even in the story, but in a prequel DLC episode? That was not handled well
It's also implied in the main game that he's a robot. Eggman calls Infinite his "creation" in the beginning, and Amy mentions a place being where "Infinite was brought into the world" towards the end. Sooooooo the game literally retcons itself. Huh.
@@edwheezer6231 No it doesn't? Infinite was a Jackle that was experimented on with the Phantom Ruby and mutated into the Infinite that's the villain of the game. he was created essentially by Eggman in that lab.
Manic Grin The sad part is that it's true. Now that we know who he really is, nobody cares because he's just some random guy who never existed before this game.
Infinite's backstory is bullshit. He turned into a edge-lord because he was defeated once!? It is just like what tfs did with brolly's backstory: " ...he's so cool, but that's so dumb!!!"
So the whole reason why Infinite is who he is, is because he was humiliated by Shadow in a fight, then bitched like a baby saying how weak he is, so then he got the Ruby Only one thing remains WHO THE FUCK IS INFINITE EXACTLY?! They keep pulling his face away into off-screen, WHY? When you think about it, the whole plot of Sonic Forces is all Shadow's fault, soooooooo, oops
CBear624 That's dumb. If SEGA showed Infinites face (which would be for 99% ugly) the community would be angry at that so stop writing such dumb comments. Go watch the Star Wars 7 with Kylo Ren in it.
What's the point of making a masked character and then not bothering to show his actual face? Like at all? At the end of the Forces story would've been perfect to show it since that was his final moments, but nope, he just poofed and that's it I want to see what this guy actually looks like instead of making him look edgier which is a pathetic excuse The community being pissed off because of a masked figure revealing his face, that's dumb, where the hell did you get that?
It's so hilarious how Infinite's song, which initially sounds like he's going to be a serious threat, can now be viewed as Infinite hyping the hell out of himself after seeing how weak af this guy is and how underwhelming his role in the story was. How incredibly pretentious these characters can be sometimes......
It almost feels like Sega was taking the complete piss out of its stereotypical "edgy" fans...right down to practically copying the style of the band used for 90% of their AMVs.
Infinite didn't start out with the Phantom Ruby. He was given it by Dr. Eggman, who found it after the events of Sonic Mania. He's not a God of the Phantom Ruby.
Do you think Infinite would feel better if Shadow just dragged his speech like "you're weak. just like everyone else. except me, because I am Shadow the Hedgehog, the ultimate lifeform, literally god."
Shadow would make the perfect dbz character lol. Hes a frickin badass. The way he juggle infinite was incredible. I wanted to see shadow take a bigger role in destroying him
FP Berserk Shadow is not like Vegeta, Shadow doesn't job to hype up the villains, Shadow roundhouse kicks everything in his path to prove he's the Ultimate Lifeform
Anthony Considering how Shadow became useless since 06 and how Vegeta does the same thing when he tries to prove his superiority,it's pretty easy to compare both of them.
FP Berserk It... it was a joke, you didn't understand that and besides Shadow still didn't get treated nearly as bad as Vegeta, Shadow still has a badass factor, Vegeta has no badass factor at all because whenever he do something badass he gets his asskicked right after. Shadow may have been useless after 06 but Vegeta was even worse
From 11:15 to 13:25 I actually really like Kirk Thornton's (voice actor of) Shadow. For me Shadow needs to have a softer voice like the previous 2 voice actors and for the most part Kirk's shadow has always seemed too rough. But this DLC proves (for me at least) that he is perfectly capable for the roll, it's just that the voice direction isn't up to expectations. Which technically is all the modern roles, like Roger Craig Smith's Sonic, it's not the voice actors fault that the characters don't sound right, but the lines they are given to work with and the direction they are given to work off of, the modern cast is as perfectly capable as the previous voice casts.
Shadow’s first stage : Remix of Westopolis (Shadow the hedgehog) Shadow’s second stage : Remix of white jungle (SA2) Shadow’s Green hill stage : Remix of Biolizard (SA2)
If anyone doesn't know but omega is voiced by Vic Mignogna who voices ed in fullmetal alchemist if anyone doesn't know And they should make more episodes of the other sonic characters
I like how Episode Shadow pays homage to the original Shadow the Hedgehog game with noticeably remixed versions of the original soundtrack. The background music of the dialogue portion sounds like the options menu, and the first stage has music similar to the Westopolis theme in the original game.
Not an identity if the face isn't clear for us to see Even though his face isn't actually revealed which is a fucking letdown since he kept adjusting his mask all the time making it look like he has an ugly looking face, but since they never actually revealed it, it makes him look like a little bitch that doesn't his own face for no real reason, it doesn't look disfigured, no injuries, he just didn't like it, so how did they expect to make this work if they made him none other than a whiny bitch that been humiliated by Shadow even though his stood no chance against him?
Conceptually, Episode Shadow reminds me of the Adventure Packs from Unleashed. Harder versions of stages from the main game Enemy Territory= Sunset Heights Eggman's Facility= Aqua Road Virtual Reality= Guardian Rock
It's funny that Shadow's levels consist of nothing more than just Sonic's levels with boxes at the end arranged to look like a level. Now we know why this DLC is free
When infinite says "you tore down without a second thought" his voice is kinda angry, I think he is angry because his team was killed while shadow was destroying the base
The fact that sonic is holding his own right now is still pretty impressive for the blue blure and for once actual combat in a sonic game that looks good in cutscene form
Some random guy out of context: "...weak (or week if you want to be punny)..." Infinite: "What does that mean? Why did you say that word? 'Weak'?! WHY DID YOU SAY THAT WORD?!"
well if you want to be technical shadow is indeed better than sonic since he was created with the battle data of sonic in his super form and the blood of black doom so when shadow turns "super" he's actually tapping into his hyper form which is a step up from sonic's super form so if you want to put it that way shadow is indeed superior to sonic
ramon mystiere thats right, but i don't like the fact that he didn't evolve as a character because he always be that edgy guy who doesn't make anything for the others because he don't want

Now to see if Sonic Forces Bonus Edition becomes easy to get once the price lowers like Sonic Lost World did.
Lets all be honest...Shadow is the only one with a good story in the whole franchise.
He's literally got the most stable story out of any of the cast why would liking his character be considered stupid even if they stopped having him around after SA2 he'd still be a fan favorite I think
Same
@@BunxBunstudios14 and even then the writers have completely butchered his story for years now.
Shadow got ruined in 05 (not 06) it showed him with max Edge on
In sa2, heros and 06 he is not edge lord
Just dealing with
trauma/keep a promise
Who he is/is he real
And a future with him detained by his friends
He's just unsocial but the most loyal character In games
He's never was a edgelord but for now he is
Man, it's so nostalgic to hear music from Shadow the Hedgehog slipped in here and there! Well played, SEGA.
Damn, who else freaked out when Omega started shouting "I AM NOT WEAK" over and over?
That shit was almost akin to psychological horror, dude. I did not expect that from a Sonic game.
It was honestly really creepy.
And the unused voice lines make it even better, too bad they're unused.
It reminds me of the Daleks from Doctor Who.
I’m not weak.
Weak? Why did you say that word?!
weak...
gaze upon *INFINITE TRIGGERING!!!!!*
*screams in edge*
he Gaara from Naruto
you're everywhere
Love the way Shadow looks.
I LOVE the remastered versions of the music from Shadow's game that they used here. SO MUCH NOSTALGIA WITH PLAYING AS HIM.
That was not handled well
In a side comic really if we are taking the beginning of his story.
Infinite was a Jackle that was experimented on with the Phantom Ruby and mutated into the Infinite that's the villain of the game. he was created essentially by Eggman in that lab.
infinite: nobody cared who I was until I put on the mask...
DKR huh?
Rouge: Doctor Eggman, I'm G.U.N. You don't get to bring friends.
Manic Grin The sad part is that it's true. Now that we know who he really is, nobody cares because he's just some random guy who never existed before this game.
*SHADOW:* "to you, the day i massacred your squad and humiliated you was the most important day of your life. But for me, _it was Tuesday."_
Manic Grin hey that's obitos line 😂
Obito Ichihas or tom hardy's in every other action film he's in
So many callbacks for shadow in his episode, my fav of course being when he teleports like he does in the intro to Shadow the Hedgehog
8:37, this guy needs a snickers
..EEeeEE..
1:43 I never thought I'd see that day where Shadow would need Wisps to help him out.
or should you say skittle rejects
(get it eh eh? •v•......ok i’ll leave)
@@donniesquid4935 Taste the rainbow.
Infinite's backstory is bullshit.
He turned into a edge-lord because he was defeated once!? It is just like what tfs did with brolly's backstory: " ...he's so cool, but that's so dumb!!!"
Eggman and infinite both imply that shadow killed infinite tribe so its just a revenge story
TheDerpyFox True it's just in reality sonic current writers just cant write something like death serious without it sounding forced
Why you are beaten by an edge lord you must become an edge lord
Theres a 4th issue of the sonic forces prequel comic called "the rise of infinite", go check it out. (Spoiler: Infinite face is there)
RalphJeremy 65 I know, I meant how infinite got the ruby
"woah he's faster than sonic!! Wait he's not running!" WHERE HAVE WE HEARD THIS BEFORE
13:07 "This power, before we even tuned it! just as i thought, it is unrivaled!" damn that's my favorite quote from infinite
Infinite got destroyed by shadow
All Hail Shadow
Obliterating everything thats not your friend!
Nothing can stop you now
No ghosts to bring you down!
NOTHING LEFT TO LOSE, YOU WIIIIN!
Bow your head low ALL HAIL SHADOW!!!
So the whole reason why Infinite is who he is, is because he was humiliated by Shadow in a fight, then bitched like a baby saying how weak he is, so then he got the Ruby
Only one thing remains
WHO THE FUCK IS INFINITE EXACTLY?!
At the end of the Forces story would've been perfect to show it since that was his final moments, but nope, he just poofed and that's it
I want to see what this guy actually looks like instead of making him look edgier which is a pathetic excuse
The community being pissed off because of a masked figure revealing his face, that's dumb, where the hell did you get that?
He didn't he just pulled an excuse out of his ass for Sega's shitty writing.
CBear624 Kylo Ren. Do i have to say more? Also you can see Infinites face in the Forces comics now
CBear624 Also sorry for calling your comment dumb
I think infinite has become one of the best bosses in sonic history. :) I like how intimidating he is. The voice matches him perfectly.
Shadow: Should have hired some defense squads for the defense squad?
Dr. Eggman: BLACK DOOM TAUGHT YOU TO ROAST, DIDN'T HE?
It's so hilarious how Infinite's song, which initially sounds like he's going to be a serious threat, can now be viewed as Infinite hyping the hell out of himself after seeing how weak af this guy is and how underwhelming his role in the story was. How incredibly pretentious these characters can be sometimes......
nintendolife25 Which is actually quite "profound" for a Sonic game. Not much, just quite.
I have no doubt this was all intentional. Sega, you clever bastards.
nintendolife25 reminds me of kylo ren
Imma Xehanort its not clever
It almost feels like Sega was taking the complete piss out of its stereotypical "edgy" fans...right down to practically copying the style of the band used for 90% of their AMVs.
BUT WHO IS INFINITE THOUGH!? JUST TAKE THE MASK OFF
some guy
that's all you get
A Jackal
A mercenary.
He is the Phantom Ruby god.
Infinite was in Sonic Mania because of the Phantom Ruby
Infinite didn't start out with the Phantom Ruby. He was given it by Dr. Eggman, who found it after the events of Sonic Mania. He's not a God of the Phantom Ruby.
Do you think Infinite would feel better if Shadow just dragged his speech like "you're weak. just like everyone else. except me, because I am Shadow the Hedgehog, the ultimate lifeform, literally god."
"A couple of months ago..."
Shadow went to the Water Park.
Shadow would make the perfect dbz character lol. Hes a frickin badass. The way he juggle infinite was incredible. I wanted to see shadow take a bigger role in destroying him
Zen-oh sama Well,Vegeta is like the Shadow of DB so I guess there is one.
FP Berserk Yeah, if only shadow played a bigger role and showed more of what he could do
FP Berserk Shadow is not like Vegeta, Shadow doesn't job to hype up the villains, Shadow roundhouse kicks everything in his path to prove he's the Ultimate Lifeform
"Our long awaited reunion.." Mephiles???!!!
I don't care if it was before the cutscene that I commented that, I am making a statement dammit!
what if infinete was mephiles's son
...... plot twist
Raimy onlinewarrior no...... no........
At The Crossing Productions haha i was only joking
that would be stupid
Sort of, both Infinite and Mephiles started out with a humiliating defeat by Shadow...
I love how the dialogue boxes are written like what Shadow would actually say
Moral of the Story: Don't say "weak" or "week" in earshot of Infinite.
Kirk Thornton stepped up his game as Shadow big time! Props man! :D
I like the Rouge voice Here
Same!
Cannot unhear Aigis from Persona 3 when Rouge talks
Karen Strassman
Yes, but she has some awful lines.
Moisaruto the lower pitched voice from previous games was better.
Shadow’s first stage : Remix of Westopolis (Shadow the hedgehog)
Shadow’s second stage : Remix of white jungle (SA2)
Shadow’s Green hill stage : Remix of Biolizard (SA2)
If anyone doesn't know but omega is voiced by Vic Mignogna who voices ed in fullmetal alchemist if anyone doesn't know
And they should make more episodes of the other sonic characters
yuki nagato he also voices qrow from rwby and sabo from one piece
yuki nagato SERIOUSLY?!!!!
HT82 Smash yup
yuki nagato infinite is gaara
Isn't he also Broly from Dbz?
well, we finally found out what Infinite is; a Jackal
💕
I like how Episode Shadow pays homage to the original Shadow the Hedgehog game with noticeably remixed versions of the original soundtrack. The background music of the dialogue portion sounds like the options menu, and the first stage has music similar to the Westopolis theme in the original game.
I’m surprised how Shadow’s voice actor improved here, sounds more natural.
"ONLY SCARS REMAIN OF WHO I WAS"
Well the song have a little more sense now
So all of those people died because shadow dissed a dude who made a mask. (By the way that mask is epic!!!!)
Also murdered his friends but mostly yeah.
Solaris - shadow keeps putting the world in danger becuz of his evil side
Man hearing that theme from the Original Shadow The Hedgehog game, and Sonic Adventures II gives me goose bumps!!!!
Anyone else gonna talk about the "Do it to it" quote by Rouge?
7:51 to 7:55,aren't those moves from the intro of shadow the hedgehog
7:50 who remembers this sequence from the Shadow The Hedgehog intro?
The first stage is (I think) a remix of Westopolis
It's almost identical tbh o3o
EVERYONE STOP COMPLAINING THAT THEY DIDNT SHOW INFINTES FACE , ON TWITTER THE OFFICIAL SONIC ACOUNT RELEASED A COMIC REVEALING IT!
Segautism i think the problem is that people dismissed that as mere fanart...
@@blackheartzerotheundergrou3225
oh brother....
I like this guy.......especially that calm and cool voice
So I guess infinite is more shadow's enemy than he is sonic's
"I AM NOT WEAAAAKKKKK, URRRRAARRRRGGHHH"
LOL
Renan Santos ikr XD
potatoes4u i love potatoes Man i like Infinite but his backstory is so stupid😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why Sega, WHYYYYY?
Another quote for the Book of Sonic Memes. This one’s gonna be up there with “IT’S NO USE!” and “FIND THE COMPUTER ROOM!”
Man. that water-slide looks like a lot of fun!
13:32 To the Infinite and beyond!
Infinite's true identity before he wore a mask and took hold of the phantom ruby... interesting.
KingSpartaX37 no it's not
Not an identity if the face isn't clear for us to see
Even though his face isn't actually revealed which is a fucking letdown since he kept adjusting his mask all the time making it look like he has an ugly looking face, but since they never actually revealed it, it makes him look like a little bitch that doesn't his own face for no real reason, it doesn't look disfigured, no injuries, he just didn't like it, so how did they expect to make this work if they made him none other than a whiny bitch that been humiliated by Shadow even though his stood no chance against him?
Not even close
CBear624 How do you get that idea of his face if we didn't see it?
CBear624 fix your English
I don't know, I feel like this games plot needs to be further explained.
6:41
"Shadow is STILL alive!?"
**shadow proceeds to almost die**
Conceptually, Episode Shadow reminds me of the Adventure Packs from Unleashed. Harder versions of stages from the main game
Enemy Territory= Sunset Heights
Eggman's Facility= Aqua Road
Virtual Reality= Guardian Rock
If you pause on the right couple of frames on 8:28, you can see Infinite's very empty face.
It's funny that Shadow's levels consist of nothing more than just Sonic's levels with boxes at the end arranged to look like a level. Now we know why this DLC is free
Evil Trapezium shit, can't argue with a free story expansion...!
Technically, it isn't free since you got to own Sonic Forces and that piece of shit costs money.
Evil Trapezium _semantics..._
@@Chronobus he's talking about the dlc not the game
Nice video, loving the new Sonic game. Shadow definitely one of my favorite characters 😈😈😈
When infinite says "you tore down without a second thought" his voice is kinda angry, I think he is angry because his team was killed while shadow was destroying the base
Yes,It actually did….
The fact that sonic is holding his own right now is still pretty impressive for the blue blure and for once actual combat in a sonic game that looks good in cutscene form
Some random guy out of context: "...weak (or week if you want to be punny)..."
Infinite: "What does that mean? Why did you say that word? 'Weak'?! WHY DID YOU SAY THAT WORD?!"
Neo Machine i love the mental image of Infinite is having a "Nicholas Cage Wicker Man" -style meltdown...
bro my man omega hasn't been in a game in a long time hyped to see him back
I know it’s not as good but I love that they brought back the westopolis theme, and omega is just as cool as he was in heroes!
Its me or Shadow *"IS FASTER THAN SONIC"*
Chaos Control
He are, are he?
RichardDasher actually shadow is better than Sonic because he is too OP
well if you want to be technical shadow is indeed better than sonic since he was created with the battle data of sonic in his super form and the blood of black doom so when shadow turns "super" he's actually tapping into his hyper form which is a step up from sonic's super form so if you want to put it that way shadow is indeed superior to sonic
ramon mystiere thats right, but i don't like the fact that he didn't evolve as a character because he always be that edgy guy who doesn't make anything for the others because he don't want
