Basic Up is a reality series that follows young men and women as they join the Canadian Forces starting from the recruiting office through to the rigorous basic training.
Understandable he is used to yelling loool 🤣😂 this kind of humour is goated!!! PO 15:47 u fall on me im gonna be PISSED!!! Lmfaoooo these guys r legends
Mis-calling rank is one of the most angry confrontations your going to have. I called a corp a Sgt and he went off for like 5 straight mins. "You think you have the power to promote me! are you trying to have Sgt Reaper removed! is this a f&$%ken coup!" I never did it again. Calling them a lower rank.. that recruit was so lucky.
We had an instructor blow up on a guy on my course for standing in front of a doorway, called him a blasphemous piece of shit for infringing on people’s freedom to move through doorways hahaha
Man I hated the obstacle course. Going out into the field was the best part of Basic. Especially when you are fast asleep in your hooch and a bunch of Arti sims go off lol
Morning PT runs were awesome! I trained for them so it was a breeze and it allowed me to chit chat with the staff at the front and get to know them more on a personal level, the staff was a lot nicer when you are leading the pack and not holding up the platoon. Lots of people barfing for the first few weeks of morning PT HAHAHA! barf everywhere, people down in the grass, medics picking people up lol meanwhile I'm at the front having a chit-chat with the MCpl
@@TheSunshrine Some of my most vivid memories are the first dozen morning runs where 1/2 the platoon is barfing in the dark and we're lapping them while holding our eggs n bacon down :)
I’m leaving this summer from BMQ reg force infantry. I can run 5k in 19 min. Will that be fast enough?I don’t know how fast the runs are and can’t judge in the video
I’m a civilian medic, and soon doing my bachelors in nursing. I’ve been so desperately wanting to apply to the CF for a few years now, but I have had PFPS for 3 years and physiotherapy isn’t cutting it. Such a shame.. watching these is a nice way to live vicariously through the privates though.
I remember that first week like it was yesterday... PT was always fun for me. Drill was not as much fun... I freaked out my instructors on the inclined wall when I ran UP the wall and launched myself over after doing a hand stand (two years gymnastics helped - lol)...
@@purple_wave_purple_wave2986 a PO is actually not an officer. They are considered NCOs. Non-Comissioned Officers. The word officer is in there but not considered an officer.
@@xxXPINOYCRUXxx Oh I see. I guess one would think P.O. is petty officer meaning some sort of officer. Well... Robinson is retired from the forces now anyways.
I think that Hudson will definitely regret his choice in the end and I wonder just how disappointed his father is being a career military officer might sound rude but being a quitter in 3 days is ridiculous they haven’t even pushed u to your limit but they say most men will go through life never knowing what they are truly capable of
Also love how the Vr guy says he wont make as much money,.... 3 days later and bruh you get like 600 bi weekly in basic if i remember correctly.. that was in 2015 when i went though, i do not know about now
I tried out for the regs but got denied because of health issues extremely high BP. I liked the Reserves but Drill is the only thing i didnt like i always had a hard time understanding what they were saying and trying to coordinate everything like the left right left left right left
Depends what your goals are but I would say yes it is. Aptitude test depends on your trade as well, long term I don’t believe it makes a big difference but if you don’t score high enough it can limit what trade you’re eligible for.

A COUP. HAHAHAH 💀💀oh god. Im going on aug3 this is gonna be wild.
When I was in basic, I remember calling a major a warrant... the amount of pushup I did that day... oh boy
I see a few Private Pyles from Full Metal Jacket in there.
“NoNo Dont be Sorry Esti” 😂
15:47 “your not falling!! YOU FALL ON ME IM GONNA BE PISSED!”
I’d be more Scared to Fall on The PO than the ENEMY! 💯 OMG golden moment!

I enjoyed the 5 am morning PT Runs also, though I was in the middle of the pack.
Being in shape for that course made everything so much easier.

Talk to PAs who've been at it for awhile. I had the same staff etc. what you're seeing here isn't something to base your decisions on
Do kneesovertoesguy exercises.
Join the reserve
Just apply join and see what happens If you don’t try then you have a 100% chance of never getting in.
If I were to call the Master Corporal from my Platoon “Corporal”, he would’ve said “COURSE SENIOR, A-BOUT TURN.. Bravo 2-7, push-up position!”
LOL That PO2 is Fantastic !!!!! You would swear he was Infantry!
"I don't care what the picture is, everybody will have a picture. If you need, I'll bring a picture of my mom in, and you can all have a copy."

What????
Wait, why strong emphasis on having a picture ? They don't want you to completely lose your humanity ?
"Aweille don't be sorry, do it."
PO Robinson is hilarious! 😂
YOU ARE NOT FALLING! YOU FALL ON ME IM GONNA BE PISSED!! 😅 15:47
Robinson may seem tough at times, but he is a great officer who could take these people and make soldiers out of them.

When he said “ if you fall on me I’m going to be pissed “ took me out! This isn’t mean to be funny but some of this is comical.
Buddy missed his GF OMG.
yea maybe he shouldve done primary reserves
Because he couldn't go 13 weeks.
Hope they're still together lmfao
Joady is getting banged elsewhere

Enlisting 12 years ago was a pay raise for me.
Took a pay cut going to basic for sure.
I was getting $1,800-$1,900 each pay cheque when I did my BMQ just last month
The shape that PO1 is in should embarrass the CF.
The ole shoe lace tying trick! Only the weak do that
So if you can't do a pushup you fail? How easy is it to learn and will they teach you? I'm joining but scared
you can do a push up just fine, If I were u just do like wall push ups as a beginner then do push ups on the ground. I use to have that problem.

Is it worth joining the forces? Also how important is it to do well on the aptitude test?

Eight years later and i still hate Monkey bars.
When was this in 2019?
This is way older, some people say 2006 but online it says 2008.
