Hey Sareesh! My usual rig (rented) is the Alexa Mini/Mini LF -w/ arri broadcast plate, top handle and the beebob battery plate with a 160wh v-mount battery, Zeiss CP2/3 primes. Usually paired with one clm-5 motor unit to pair with the Hi5 follow focus system. This comes very close to the max payload of the tripod. Think it's a good idea to own this or continue renting a tripod as well? Thinking of getting this as I plan to purchase a canon c400 and might as well get a tripod to go with it that works with the arri rig as well. I usually rent the miller arrow x3 head with sprinter 2 legs.
The StediFast HD should be able to handle the weight. You’ll need a different head though, check out the Cartoni Focus. The T8 won’t handle an LF Mini fully rigged.
If you do not know both the director and the tripod well enough, being surprised is not a surprise. As someone who knows the integrity of the director and the superior performance of the tripod, I am not surprised at all that a great director would recommend a great tripod which has given him nearly five years of service and still leaves him satisfied😊😊
