    Love your videos and how you take your time articulating things about indys metro area. I’m from New Jersey and I’ve been living in Westfield for 3yrs now, I’ve explored the entire Indy metro area for months before moving here and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed. Indy and it’s metro is highly underrated and it gets a lot of negative reviews from people who really never been here. I was nervous about relocating here because prior to moving here I only knew the basics. I would highly recommend the metro area to anyone from any part of the country. Yes there’s things that can be improved on like a major attraction of some sort that’s nationally recognized other than sports and more unique dinning.

      I noticed this big time. I'm from Logansport Indiana. My times in Carmel I noticed a lot of elitist attitudes. If you aren't in what appears to be brand spanking new clothes, people are hesitant to walk through if you hold the door for them. I thought I was being nice as it is common courtesy. Other parts of indy are trying to be Chicago 2.0 as well.

    As someone who grew up in Carmel, its funny to see how many people get frustrated with roundabouts. They are safer and faster than stop light intersections and you will get used to them eventually. Carmel High School is great, I was in the choir program there, LOVED it. Pain in the ass to commute downtown, but they are about to change some major roads. Overall 8/10 for me, good place to live.

    I deceded on Carmel when I moved here. On the traffic front Carmel traffic seems to spread out more. You have both 31 and Keystone going North/South instrad of just 69. Then in major surface streets Alisonville seems much busier than Rangeline or Pennsylvania.

  • @Michael-gr9xx
    @Michael-gr9xx Před 2 lety +4

    I would say fishers has just as much as Carmel, its just much more spread out and closer to the residential areas. And the other 2 big differences are economic diversity and lifestyle. Carmel is almost exclusively wealthy while fishers is pretty evenly split between middle class and wealthy. Carmel is very much geared towards the new urban lifestyle while fishers is more of a resort community. Fishers has 3 sports lakes and 2 beaches (Geist, saxony, stonebridge). Carmel doesn’t have any lakes or beaches but the architecture is more impressive.

    One thing both suburbs lack is any form of public transit. You pretty much have to drive everywhere. There are bike paths, especially in Carmel and you could bike to the Red line bus which will take you downtown Indianapolis, but that's about it. Driving to downtown I'd say Carmel is easier as for me anyway I have more options to get downtown (I 65 or 465 to I 70 while Fishers only offers the later meaning you have more options in case there is a traffic issue
