2019... Bought the game and finished it multiple times. Never have I ever killed Vito or saw him die. I did the rule alone for the trophy but you never see him die. On this day I break that streak and I saw that heartbreaking scene of vitos death. Monster. I love Vito and Mafia 2.
I loathe the idea of screwing any of them and then having to kill them...they're right on the edge when you find them and it's your job to gain their trust and restore their credibility ...not knock it down like a stack of cards. But there should have been a proper cutscene with the three of them along with Nicki, Alma and Emmanuel celebrating the fall of Sal Marcano. When Lincoln walks in there's a massive applause. Have to include Donovan and Father James in there aswell...a satisfying conclusion
With all of these different endings, it makes you wonder....which one was intended to be the REAL ending? Like, what if the player chose to kill Vito? If there's a Mafia IV, will Vito be in it, and alive? That sure wouldn't make sense for people who chose the ending where Vito is killed. And that was just one example. Not sure if this made sense to anyone?

I gave Cassandra, Burke, & Vito an equal amount of turfs & none of them didn't leave me & surprisingly got an achievement for keeping all 3 without killing any of them

They are angry because the player assigned them single rackets (like Gambling or Moonshine) but then reneged and gave the district to someone else. That's a huge no-no, and not explained well in the game.
Maarten Hartmann Not just that but if you do any of their side missions or get rackets to max earn, it makes them less likely to turn on you. There’s essentially a loyalty meter they don’t tell you about.
I managed to keep all 3 happy as well. Didn't notice a loyalty meter, but I realised midway that it's best to give rackets of a particular district to the person I intend to give the district to
