    I’m gonna try and create my own plug by using the one where the hose connects to. This will be my mold. So first I’ll lather it with a lubricant like oil(just enough so it won’t get stuck to the mold). Then I’ll put it inside a spray an plastic cap. Then I’ll get a hot glue gun and fill it to where the thread ends. Let dry and un-screw. Now I have my mold. Finally I will lather the inside with a little lubricant (oil) and with the glue gun fill it with glue. I’ll top it off beyond the threading to have enough to later cut for a socket to fit. Oh yeah I’ll make sure and lather the top of the mold w a little bit of oil as well, so the bolt/plug won’t get stuck to the mold when I pour the hot glue. This is for a one time use. No need to tighten. Just hand tight enough for it to hold pressure to pop the seal.

      Update: it didn’t work! Lol I didn’t realize how much pressure it gives off. Well I ended up ordering one from autozone. Fixed it no problem. I kept barely turning the key without turning on the truck, but nothing. I had to actually build up pressure first before trying to take everything off (hoses etc.) then I turned on the truck until I heard a pop sound from the seal. Changed it and was good to go.

    Best thing about this shop is it's like getting paid to go to Coachella and wrench on expensive stuff.

      Thanks for watching. I know you can find that plug online somewhere but I was in a rush one day so I just grabbed a fitting of the same thread type , smashed the end and than welded it together. Works and free.

      I had to use a small flat head and one of those picks 😢to get it out. I was being careful at first until I realized you get a new one in the kit😂

    Hey man, my steering gearbox (TAS65051) has two lines going into it. I want to replace the two fittings for those lines. How do I figure out what fittings it uses and where do I buy them?

    What to do if seal doesn’t pop up. Trued thousand times. Not even moving . I even tried to run the engine and turn the wheels- not!

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  Před rokem

      If seal doesn’t pop than I’d be worried your power steering pump isn’t putting out any pressure. If the lines are plugged off than the pressure has to go somewhere. In rare cases I’ve had to drill a self tapping screw not to deep into the seal to pull it out with vice grips.

    I tried to get just the seal kits for the steering gear box, they wanted to sell me the whole rebuild kit which is 560$, can I just get the dust boot, seal and locking ring and grease in a kit, for a 1995 international 4700 with a 7.3 turbo diesel?

      Hey thanks for reaching out I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to I would check out other parts suppliers possibly eBay. Dealers should be carrying them.
