You might want to know - Lamik brothers - Łukasz and Dawid are legends in Polish drag racing scene. 13 years ago Łukasz had fastest street-legal FWD car in Poland with first 11 second run, nowadays Dawid runs Opel Corsa with VW R32 engine, which is one of the fastest FWDs in Europe.
Also, he worked on Bartosz Ostałowski car - a drift car with 8HP90. Auto transmission is a must, because Bartosz has no arms.
Great job guys the kits look so professional
This stuff looks well put together! an 8HP + turbolamik just went to the top of my list of candidates to back up a 347 swap in a Pajero
Well done guys thats amazing!!
Looking good boys, the rig sounds smooth as silk, mothers milk.
Well done
I dont even own a 79 series and now I want one just to get this kit. Well done lads
Awesome guys great job
Great work a credit to you all 👍and a lot of scope to fit many other 4/4
200.....200.....200....... kits is business, youtube is marketing - you're doing it well guys. 6x6 got my attention!
Awesome work 8SPEED !!!
Thanks ✌
Great video 🤙🍻
Can confirm - P3 is more fun to drive in but P1 on the lamak is just so smooth and comfy, anyone who get's an 8speed won't be dissapointed, absolute game changer.
It really does surprise me how well the main auto mode works behind the old 1vd.
Fantastic stuff guys. Good luck selling these kits guys. Dutch regards Nico.
Thanks so much! And thanks for following along.
Absolute legends 👏
i'v got the cash ready for you Brock !!! great work thanks for the update
hahahaha OMG
how good, I've sat in the PVS Ute, it feels like you're in an AMG
Cool truck, man
What trans cooler is that? I need to retrofit one to my car and that looks perfect. Cheers
Is that a factory BMW shifter assembly? Looks really nice in the video from ProCheck where he has it on the dyno. How does it talk to the TurboLamik?
Absolute quality
With very few good options for the n70 1KD hilux for aftermarket auto boxes, will these hp8 kits be available for that application? If so your thoughts on putting one behind a 1KD? Would it be over kill? Would the 3 extra gears work well with a 4 cylinder 250+Hp/600+torque motor and would it be fair to assume these boxes would give better fuel economy? Thanks
Not lame but informative that’s up right spike tv vibes from back in the day but instead of muscle cars you have n54s and a bunch of badass Toyotas I didn’t know about playas 🤙
Glad to see this homegrown kit getting off the ground. All the best to you guys. But is that your N54 in the background on the hoist???
No, that’s Dan’s e90 m3. I’m hoping to find out if i get mine back soon.
Very nice work so far Andrew 👍🏻👍🏻 However, I guess I am not the only one who wants to see you go back to (also) working on the BMW’s again. I kinda miss that.
You are not wrong. I wish I had the old cars. Check spoolstreet for the channel name and an update.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Thanks, read it. It confirms what I was suspecting. But rest assured: just like all the other fans of your channel I am still 100% behind you/your work and wish this matter gets sorted in your favor asap. Until that time, I will be following the 4WD channel with interest. Stay safe and best of luck 💪🏼👍🏻
Wonderful work, does this still keep the stock starter and where does it have space to connect to the flywheel?
Starter position doesn’t change. Bell housing adapter accounts for that.
Finally a new video from you 😊😅 was close to write you again 😅
Thanks man. Have been swamped trying to get the kits sorted for the customers who purchased the pre order. I miss making videos. Looking forward to getting back to it.
@@ZeroTo60Tubeyou know Andrew it's like always, the fun stuff is what we live for but the fun stuff most of the times doesn't pay us a living. And there are so many other important things to sort out ... I'm happy to hear again from you! Hope you have most things cleaned up and you are able to enjoy your time again. Btw I think you came a great way considering how down you were when you had to give up your old house 😉
Hi Andrew, you guys are doing great work! Question, how does the turbo lamik calculate the amount of torque that the engine is making? For a standalone swap. Thanks!
Sorry i missed this. It has a few ways or options, but as a minimum it needs RPM, tps and map signal.
Cool🎉 to see you're doing great! Kit looks ultra pro!
Thanks man! How are things with you?
@@ZeroTo60Tube My futures so bright I've gotta wear Shades (Yea too 80's LOL). But I'm creeping closer to the first round of You tube send offs which makes me concerned with my whole having to move situation and the housing market in this part of the world is just Horrid. So I'm really trying to stay confident that even if I begin the channel in one location but the new location is a very restricting type of place (As in not having the garage like I do now and the cost etc) that I will still be producing content that is of interest and enjoyment as well as useful for others. I know I'm not a boring or bland individual so I'm standing in that place right now. Change is always un-nerving at the least but it can be a great thing if you're prepared to know who you are and what you are wanting to accomplish. Thank you for asking and I'm still in your corner for as long as it takes Andrew!
Nice work! Making a kit this complete is not an easy task.
Thanks man! Hope you have been well. Did you end up selling your 120i?
@@ZeroTo60Tube Yes thanks, all good, hope you're doing well too! Yes i did, mixed feelings 😐 Car was so clean and only the best of the best on it! But the new build is running, feels good to be back with 4wd so i think it will be fun! 😇
Any plans to make up a kit for a Y62 using the ZF8 speed trans as I’ve found the RE7 Nissan trans is not built for performance being supercharged
Absolutely, just been putting way to much time in to these cruiser kits. But will get on to more models soon.
Awesome stuff. Looking to the future, do you expect to expand support to any additional platforms?
Absolutely. Just trying to get on top of these ones.
Not long for me now, my right foot can't wait
nice breakdown andrew are you going to have any e90 content soon. i'm about 3 weeks away from first drive in the e90 turbo barra cheers from broken hill
Got planet of e90 stuff ready, but don’t know when I’ll be allowed to film it.
@@ZeroTo60Tube just keep chuggin on it will eventually happen cheers glenn
Would be great if you could do a video on weighing the different 8hp's 45/50/70/75/90 etc
Makes me want to buy a 79 series
Hm wonder if this would built up to the 1U/2u/3uz Toyota engines and the 1gzfe? 1/2jz Rb30?
Any plans for Isuzu 4JJ’s ?
Hi! I was watching your video on the x5 transmission. I have an e38 730d from 2001, and i have a problem where when the transmission and engine heat up, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear slip, and the car enters into "gearbox emergency program" where it only works on 5th gear. I removed the transmission's sump and found a lot of debris on the magnets (i assume from the clutch packs). I think the fault may be on the clutch packs having a lot of wear. Where did you guys found the A drum? Can you send me a link? Thanks in advance. Your video is really helpful
back then i got the 5hp32 parts from ZF australia. Just called them directly with some part numbers.
Great content but what happened to the single turbo 335??
Hey man, check spool street if you are interested.
Top job lads. Just need to find someone to make an adaptor for a 12 Valve Cummins
it would be so bad ass. I need one for a 24 valve. Those dodge transmission are garbage
Following this as well.
Follow up. David Bell took me for a drive in his 79 with a 8ph. The smoothest aftermarket auto I've ever been in.
I never would have expected to see Sportster CS's in a Landcruiser
It’s madness. But man they are nice.
Hi guys, love the 8speed Auto .would it fit 23 78Series troopy
Yes
Quick question regarding the early commodore in the background! I’m doing a 1UZ conversion in my VH and was planning on a 8HP, wondering if you’ve got one in it and if so did it fit in the trans tunnel? Cheers!
Its got a glide in that car. I think the tunnel should be ok, but not sure. Its going to depend on how far back you push the engine.
@@ZeroTo60Tube I’ll shall keep you posted as I’ll be getting the lamik from you fine gentlemen. Cheers.
Hi mate watch quite a lot of your vids on CZcams, Can you please help me know what gearbox is a GA8HP75 and GA8HPTU2
Hey Mate, might be worth watching this video again. It explains, you need to find the trans to go with what every adapter you are using.
Hey guys, I’m considering an 8hp70 swap into my 1uzfe 4runner. PMC make an adaptor.
My question is about transfer cases. Do you know of a good adapter and manual shift transfer case with a left hand drop that will work with the 8hp?
I don’t sorry
I’ve bought the PVS white Air vent rims but cannot work out how to get the old ones off - any tips?
Sorry rich thats not somehting i have ever tackled.
Which engine is that?
Hi …Are you doing one to suit a 1HD-FTE Troopy?
Not a full kit, it’s been a nightmare 12 months on. So many little bits need changing to suit all the chassis and with the 1hd there are even more combos.
We have the engine to trans adapter for 1hd at 8speed.au however the rest you need to work out yourself
How can i order one ?
Will the screen fit into a vacant horizontal switch position in the cruiser
yes it does
we need a car version of the kit. a kit for e46 maybe?
Any News on the instrument cluster on the E9x
I have had an update file for a few months now but not had a chance to try it. Sorry
Who do you recomend for 8hp services in brisbane
I dont really know anyone specialising in servicing them. Its easy if you know what you are doing.
Are you going to have any WA fitters/dealers?
100% we have some friends in WA that we can trust!
Does this fit in a 2015 hilux with the j70 motor in it?
no
Do you sell the breather for the box separately?
No
When will the DIY kit be available ?
The next batch. Fitting will be optional.
Hey man I love your videos and have been loving them for years now! You might remember my username… I’ve really got no one to go to to ask about this and I know you are amazing at responding to your comments!
This is a E92 drivetrain issue that im having on my 115k mile BMW 335is and it absolutely kills me… Its a distinctive clicking noise that I get when driving and when I steer while hitting bumps at low speed… I also notice it comes to a faster pace the faster I drive, (for example I can hear it bounce off the walls in the city with my windows down).
I have a video on which I caught it while driving through the city, in case there is anywhere you would be fine with me sending it to you on.
I also tried turning the wheels lock to lock while the car was idling and stationary, unfortunately that didn’t recreate the click click click click noise…
I really need you on this Andrew, it would mean a LOT if you could give me a few pointers!
Thank you so much, much love and greetings from the USA! 🤙🏻
Clicks when you steer are often related to strut tops. Also likely if its when you hit a speed bump and load them up.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Little update, I feel like it’s not coming from steering… At first I feared it would be the steering rack being bad but I feel like I only get the click click click click click when normally driving on not even roads/when going over bumps and speed bumps… I checked my front struts ant they seemed fine to me… The rears I don’t know how to get into with all the trunk stuff in the way…
In that case have you checked your guibo?@@N54_is
@@ZeroTo60Tube I haven’t… I’ll try to figure out how to do that
@@ZeroTo60Tube I just got my car back from a trusted Tire Shop and I asked them to check the constant clicking and they said its because of my Brembo BBK Porsche Cayenne kit… I run 17 inch Apex VS5-RS from the previous owner so I guess I need to get 18‘s or 19‘s for the front now…
I really hope they didn’t just tell me something to keep me happy. Thank you so much for trying to help Andrew. It really means a lot. Take care of yourself. 🙏🏻
whats the fuel consumption in KM/L ?
Unfortunately we havent had the chance to accurately monitor.
hey brother i know its unrelated to this video, but are you guys familiar with HPR awd gtr 8hp swap kit that retains the altessa system from the gtr? they dont have any finished cars going to show me it works, but they said they had some friends in australia building a few, immediately my first thought was i wonder if its andrew and the boys lol. i finished the 1100whp n53/54 8hp75 car , trans brake and 5k stall and its perfect. about to go run some low 8's when the weather cools off. i just recently purchased an r33 gtr, fully built 900awhp and i have the awd 8hp95 trans. if you got any info on that swap or that kit please let me know!
Yes we have 2 kits on the way from HPR. Well just waiting on a few parts. We will definitely document those conversions on the channel here.
@@ZeroTo60Tube ill feel better after watching you guys tear into one. lol im for sure doing my gtr 8hp i think ill wait to see you guys get one together so i can make mine painless.
@@ZeroTo60Tubeare you guys still planning to document those Awd builds? Wouldn’t the 7speed dct be more sporty?
yes and DCT is not as fast as the 8hp. @@mikelmarion
@@ZeroTo60Tube really? That’s interesting
So with the 6 speed auto, it seems heat was never mentioned as an issue but it’s been a big problem.
With your 8speed are there any issues not being discussed or raised publicly ? I must admit I’m now favouring your 8 speed kit - my ONLY reservation is reliability- I recall Land Rover using ZF gearboxes and they were piles of crap. How does your 8speed box go offroad crawling at low speed in low range running say 35-37s in steep slippery Vic High Country ?
I have spoken to many of the 6 speed converted 79s who continually have issues with heat and clutch packs melting. Guys that use them on soft sand, its an instant problem. Its been the biggest concern from people i have spoken to with expeirence in the Toyota box. Reagrding reliability, its a tough one to put any relevant numbers on. These boxes are solid, but a big issue with the BMW sourced ones is BMW says dont service them (lifetime fluid). That seems to limit the useful life to around 250,000-300,000klms in the OEM applications. However as soon as those cars are out of warranty, every service shop with a bit of common sense will service the ZFs. Its worth checking the wikipediea on the ZF boxes to see how popular they are. The. ZF and asin are the two main 8 speed autos. ZF are still being used by manufacturers, where the likes of VW were using the asin 10 years ago and switched to ZF in the later models. The ZF8 is still used as the premium box by alot of the european manfuacturers on the high end models to this day. However they are also used by chinese manufacturers and even the ones made under license by Jeep are out there which give them a bad name and shouldnt really be reflective of the entire range. As for the Land Rovers, i dont know how they make everything so problamatic..... ha
@@ZeroTo60Tube awesome reply - Thankyou. Is it too early to say how often you guys suggest trans oil changes in your 8 speed kits?
I’ve never understood manufacturers not wanting trans oil changed.
@@robertmillar2037 On cars that are having a hard time, i do them every 10,000k's or every year. Our drift cars, race cars where we are using the trans brake etc. However normal road use i'd spread that out to 20,000k's.
LR issues are overblown. The early ZF 6 speeds were ok provided you serviced them, same for BMWs who used the same box. One issue in 6 speed related to the spigot centraliser which can fail, a bit like cracked flex plates which are quite common across many makes, The 8 speed also needs servicing, despite what the car maker says, service every 100k klms is recommended. LR were an early adopter of the 8 speed which now appears in many cars and trucks too. Good on you for catching Toyota up. Their autos have always been crap.
@@ericjohnson6802 heard different. Heard the early new RRs with the bmw running gear was very unreliable.
Is it engineered for the 40's?
No idea.
Any downshift blip setup?
Yes, the latest beta firmware supports it. I have only tested it with a MSD80 dme.
@@ZeroTo60Tube any plans for future videos on it
@@waynewestii yes absolutely
Is that ute engineered on 40's?
No idea. I know it has mod plates and it was pre rego suspension/portal setup. Just not sure on the tyres.
any Kits For FD Rx7 ?
Yeah. Well we have the 13b to 8speed adapter on the site www.8speed.au
@ZeroTo60Tube thank you. Drive in drive out option too?
@@jdmcarcollection7263 there will be a bit of a delay getting you in to the shop, but definitely possible. Would be around $15k. Drive in drive out.
@@ZeroTo60Tube will be in touch, worth the drive from Victoria
I like your videos. I would like a quotation for a 8hp70, kit for a 2jz engine. Can I get a email or to contact you.
Hey mate, we only supply to Australia. We do not offer a quote service. The only parts we can supply are the ones on www.8speed.au
Why don't u guys do 335i and N54 content anymore?
nvm saw your spoolstreet post. How terrible, I'm so sorry that happened to you
Man its been a real nightmare.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Hope things get better man, do you think there will ever be 335i content anymore? Heard rumors I don't know if it's true that there's a V11 update coming for MHD soon
1HD adapters pls we need it so much worse
😥
Interesting kit, would like to see a full comparison between this kit and the Wholesale Autos Toyota kit and a full price breakdown. Wonder how long before someone does the new 10 speed Toyota conversion or even the Heavy duty version of the Ford/GM 10 speeds? Totally arrogant, and stupid, of Toyota not to have fitted their own auto to these things.
So you put BMW gearbox in a reliable Toyota track?
Ironic i know.... but lets be real, its much better than the Toyota Auto.
@@ZeroTo60Tube of course it is 😊. But ai believe who bought toyota 70 series, they only buy it for reliability only.
@Like511Honey nah people don't buy them for the reliability anymore they just buy them for the clout and looking "cool". Gotta have that v8 crooza!!!
Guys any new content?
Finally got a chance to edit a video we filmed in March & April this year. Currently uploading right now.

You gotta talk about the trans upgrade in detail, you kinda just skimmed over the topic! Also talk about the price of the upgrade and what's done…
Im sure andrew will do a video on the built trans soon enough. Luckily, we all like race cars, so the built transmissions that come out of here will cop some proper abuse in the real world!
@@Buckna1 I hope so, I'm up for snapping one up as long as it can handle 1200rwkw and over 1400 NM of torque. Some have lived well and some, well I'm sure you can guess! Many have turned me away from the DCT route, because of failures and price, but at this point the 8HP will be the pricier one! Ignition cut on shift just like a sequential, may be a decent torque strategy, plus I'm looking forward to the throttle blip on downshifts and so many other features with the 8HP and nexus...
@@BUZDRIFT I believe the 8HP90 will hold that power reliably as that's what they use in the M5 and people have pushed those to crazy numbers.
@@piovo5222 The Trick is finding one with supporting kits! I Do see a lot of US 8HP90's about, but they're meant to be weaker than the OG Euro ZF's
@@BUZDRIFT should be the same the ones that most people swap are the 8HP70 and ZF say the limit is 700nm (70) but people are running 1200nm so the HP90 which has a limit of 900nm should be fine with your power levels, I’ve not heard of the euro ZF being stronger, I thought they were all the same as they all come from same factory no matter the cars production.
