Technically I believe you can get full combo off of iidas ground yellow attack, ive done it all the time as long as the full thing hits, it leaves the opponent stunned long enough for the animation to finish and if your button press is fast enough you can go right into a combo off of it, its mostly like most yellow attack a armored counter to catch the opponent then attack, especially after his level one cause of the speed boost. Oh and if you could do kirishima next that would be cool.

Yes I can confirm is does combo and they only get knocked down if the opponent jumps before you do it.

you can get a full combo after his grounded yellow armour. you have to just use your light attack afterwards.

You can chain with his armored slide. You just have to hit them with the entire slide and then hit them with X immediately afterward.

Arena fighters deserve a hero of allot more attention than they get, I blame the current fgc for this. These games are both skilled and strategic as anything else I've played in the fighting world.

I know this video is fairly old but there are a few things that bothered me as an iida main
I'll be going over them in order of their appearance in the video
1. you said iida can't go into a full combo off a grounded yellow move.
You clearly have not tested this whatsoever, as you can literally just press the jab button and it will connect without any issues
2. his recipro acceleration is good at punishing projectiles
his recipro acceleration is only useful as a projectile dodge IF you are close enough AND you read when the projectile is coming out. Because of the startup you CANNOT react with it and if the opponent is too far away from the arch will not go far enough to be able to dodge any projectile coming your way.
3. you said his Q1 was unsafe on block
it is very much not. It has a lot of startup so using it mid blockstring is not optimal but it is unpunishable if you do land it on block. You just have to press the attack button as fast as possible afterwards. If they try to punish your attack will come out first, if they keep blocking you can continue your blockstring and more times than not break their guard
4. You said the enemy has to be on the correct side of the wall for Q1 to wallsplat
ths is a very small thing, and I don't blame anyone for not noticing this. BUT you can wallsplat every character but Gran Torino on both sides of the wall. Delaying the Q1 for a bit will make his kick circle around and hit the opponent into the wall. The timing is different for each character though because of hitboxes.
these things are not to rag on your video, in fact I loved it.
I love the way you described the general playstyle of iida and I think you did a great job explaining the basics.
This comment is just to help point out the things in this video that I think are misinformed.
A few things that I want to note about iida though is:
his booster mode is absolutely nuts.
he can do combos that do up to 150-200 damage just with one plus ultra 1 into a wallsplat.
Seriously, do some training with his booster mode, it is a LOT of fun.
another thing is:
his blockstrings are not nearly as safe as people think they are.
Tomuras Q1 is fast enough to just outright break his blockstring. Toga's ground yellow also punishes iidas blockstrings hard. Stains counter also just completely negates your blockstrings. These are just a few cases but there are a lot more characters with effective ways to deal with your bockstring.
That's where you, the iida player comes in. Mix ups are the bread and butter of a great iida player and if you want to get better at iida than I highly recommend you get good at mixups and reads.

@TGN Anime Also after hitting his level one (I don't think he has to hit it) you can cancel a lot of moves into each other like being able to cancel his grounded armored move into an unblockable or into an AAA string and I bet, because I haven't put much time into testing it, he can milk some good damage

Did they change ring outs??? Everytime I try to ring somoneone out with that move they hit the ground and get an instant recover that not only doesnt count as a ring out but ends my combo since they dont bounce up???

There's only 1 bounce that saves you every time. After that it's a ring out unless they touch the floor. I believe dash cancels also spend the bounce, but not sure about that last one
