The 412 T2 is my favourite Ferrari F1 car by a country mile. I'm a Mclaren addict, but that car was so beautiful, and the sound it made was just heavenly
These cars had the right amount of downforce and the right weight to make the sport beautiful to watch. Look at how all of them fight with the magic of Suzuka. Nowadays how many challenges does Suzuka give to the F1? Same with Spa, Montreal... And I'm not even talking about the noise.

Um, no comments about the video quality yet? I mean, this is a video from 1995. People nowadays seem to expect every video to be in HD, and when they aren't, people bitch. "WAS THIS RECORDED WITH A CALCULATOR, LOL" This is amazing quality, and instead of just assuming we're entitled to HD versions of old racing clips, I say THANK YOU Supermega25 for posting this. @Jonas Jonaitis nope. Look at his steering for one round and then watch again und look forward how smooth his car drives. He drives at 100% and sometime 101%.
That guy in the Benetton was pretty good. Precise, hit every apex, smooth acceleration out (except at the hairpin, no one can not get a bit squirrely there it seems). Also 1s faster. I think he might amount to something. Shame his camera was placed so badly though. These were the pioneer days and everyone put it whereever it could be fit in!
All are legendary and great. Ferrari the beast! Alesi's style of steering and holding of hands are unique and very attractive. Sound of Ferrari 412 T2 is insanely good, crazy, unforgettable and absolutely the best.
These onboard cameras look so lively, the sense of speed is really there... And yet, they were some 12 secs slower then 2019 cars around Suzuka. Speed isn't everything
Alesi was a real race fan's racer. If you don't love Alesi there's something about motor racing that you didn't grasp. Wonderful skill and courage at the wheel, but most of all flair and panache.
@@unfairfight3625 That;s because the corner has been wussed out, widened and not as sharp. In other words...no skill required, pretty much like the entire F1 calendar of today.

I really love how you can see the tech differences between the cars. The Williams has a fairly modern looking steering wheel with gadgets and gizmos a plenty meanwhile the McLaern has a rev limiter and radio button Incase Mika feels like talking.
Even if the FIA changed the rules again to allow for 3.0 or 3.5L N/A, any number of cylinders, any configurtion (inline, V, flat) engines, I doubt any manufacturer would choose anything different from a V10. In the 90s, they found out this was the best compromise between low end torque, high rpms, and fuel consumption. Not to mention that I think V10s are the best sounding engines ever ;)
One second thank to the car or to the driver ..100% to the driver. And the drive style difference it's easy to see and listenable. No errors, but what make the difference is the trottle and brakes work by Michael. The engine rpm in particoulary remain always high during the intere lap. Would be good see the speeds points for compare it whit all the others but i m sure that the deutsch "guy" speed was between four and six kilometers for hour more high than all the others..
The cameras in the early 90's was the best! The problem today is that the anti-shake function of the cameras is so effective that is make even the harshest ride seem like a nice smooth sunday drive! The position of the cameras are wrong, and the microphones and sound filtering make cars sound less brutal! Todays V8's might not be the best sounding engines, but the sound filtering also has a lot to do with it!

Alesi was amazing through 130R! Looks to me he was the fastest through that corner, steering in with minimum lift off, and just barely made it correcting snaps of oversteer! He could have made a really good time, but it seemed like he got it wrong in the middle of the esses, missing an apex... and if you miss one there, you are in bad position for the next!
wow awesome video and awesome era, the cars handle so loose and natural, you can see exactly the characteristics of the car. also thought Alesi would get a better time lol, he was really on it!

This is FANTASTIC recording. FIA should take notes about these onboards, something about the cameras now makes things not seem as intense as this is.
