Would you believe I didn't get to try this dish when I was in Thailand I was just too GREEDY WITH seafood!! I did get to try a mango they are much sweeter than the ones we have in the USA! I love love hearing the baby tell the camera man to let us see the cutie God Bless you guys!

Sticky rice is delicious but the pandan-flavored rice and mango is my favorite dessert. My friend in Thailand makes the pandan-infused sticky rice using fresh leaves every morning for the restaurant where she works. Most days she makes about 30 kilos but regularly has to make another batch midday because it sells out early.

I keep mine in a zip-lock bag and store in the refrigerator. When I reheat it in the microwave, I add a little water to add some moisture back.

Why the cheese cloth Siri? I will have to order it since its not found in this town. I will also have to order Pandan flavoring
If you don't have cheesecloth, than other cloth should work. I have seen people use white cotton shirt before, and even seen someone use an old sock before too haha! Use what you got :-)

Dear Siri, I've been waiting for this recipe. I've never had it, and I want to try it. You made it look so easy. Is the Pandarn necessary? Is it a flavoring or only a food coloring?
It's very easy. It's flavoring, but it's not necessary, if you can't find it. The recipe is still delicious without it.
Avi Bonn...if you can get onto Amazon site to order there are several different types of Pandan flavoring, essence, and so on. Im going to try one of the small essense bottles since I probably wont use it too much. If I were yiu Id Google Pandan History and cooking use so you can understand how the people in the country where Pandan grows use it as a flavoring. Its very interesting.

NO, it's not only sweet. Sticky rice is commonly used with BBQ beef, BBQ pork, papaya salad, larb moo... and so many other Thai dishes.
