I honestly forgot Alpharius had a mini and him winning is the most Alpharius thing possible because of that.
Or is it Omegon? Who knows...?
@@TheSmart-CasualGamer it doesn't matter when they're all clones
No one expects the -Spanish Inquisition- Alpha Legion.
You spoiled the fricking video you heretic
@@buckwheat9465 dont look at the comments before you watch the video then, there are always spoilers in the comments
Alpharius, because he has a helmet.
Every character needs a helmet option.
This.
I’ve seen some people use helmets from legion specific unites which works well.
Lux doesn’t sanguinius have a helmet option?
@@beartygerevillaugh9418 Nope, only Alpharius.
In some cases, I feel a helmet doesn't quite work. Any model which has special head detailing falls into this, like Angron with his Nails and Perterabo with his Cortex Controller. I feel it kind of just... takes away from the model, since their look is partially defined by the random cabling crap sticking from their head....
You might be able to green stuff the cabling through the helm, but with Pert and his Logos Armor, that won't work too well... maybe Angron could, but then again, Angron would run around without a helmet on principle alone...
@@Sandrock999999999 Fair enough, in fact Angron would look worse with helmet not just because of the nail but his iconic face tattoos.
The faces of the primarchs are unusual in official art or at least I've found that to be the case.
Horus as described: inspiring, noble, handsome
Horus as shown on book covers: van driver named Baz
He drives a van with the numberplate H3R3SY
Mr Clean
I disagree with Kirioth on the pose. The model itself is exquisite but the pose makes it look like he's directing traffic in full battle gear.
@@andyb1653 Or he's pointing a random citizen to the nearest bus stop or something like that.
@@k-leb4671 Horus (gesturing with oversized power maul): YOU MAY TURN LEFT NOW, BROTHER!
Dorn's pose is "I am still standing, traitor." Really like it. I wish Lorgar would have his eyes wide, mouth open, preaching from a book.
Zaprozhan and his weapon hanging from a belt, as a physical representation that he fights with words rather then force. (Not that he can’t fight, it would just represent him better) I like your idea
Rogal Dorn endured so much...I hope he returns more so then anyone else.
Whenever I look at Dorn's model I can hear him quoting Clint Eastwood.
"Go ahead, traitor. Make my day."
"I'm still standing, better than I ever did. Looking like a true survivor," - Dorn, probably
Or being shat on, and thrown in the trash
Vid: "It's personal opinion."
Me: "All good bro."
Vid: "Worst is Leman Russ."
Me: *"Fara tíl Hel, svikari!"*
May Chaos consume any who would speak ill of Russ.
I'm with Kirioth on the pose though. Kinda wonky. And why is his armor almost black? Shouldn't it be a light blueish-grey in colour? "Space Wolves Grey", perhaps?
“Farðu til hels, svikari”
Andy B They turned bluey grey after the heresy I believe, more matte grey before the heresy and during it
Hahah Love this!!
The issue with Ferrus Manus’s model is that it still has its head
Too soon
Curze also got his head cut off. Why nobody remembers that?
Dorn still has two hands
@@skywatcheradept cos the emo was literally asking for it
I second this.
Missed an opportunity to show a random marine from the Alpha Legion when you said that Alpharius was your favorite.
Imagine if we had got the 30k Roboute but he posed like the cover of Know no Fear? Massive gauntlets on, angry as hell punching a Word Bearer. Now that would have made it one of the top 5 primarch models
I honestly think it's my #1 :|
Agree, would be awesome.
At the risk of stating the obvious they way magnus's model ended up is how guilmans should have been.
Yeah, I think one of the big issues with the Primarch models is that they have been designed to be paired loyalist/traitor or on a diorama base rather than as a model that stands alone in an army setting.
Not all of them but some of them definitely suffer from looking more like a display piece than a model for play.
It's a bit of a shame that, even all this time later, they still haven't finished the whole set; Jhagatai Khan and Lion'el Jonson are both absent, and even if I'm not really a fan of either of them, still a pity they can't ALL be compared.
@helpineedsleep considering dark angels are the current releases I see the lion appearing soon
Shame scars are as underrated in reality as they are in canon. In fact, where I ever to play foul corpse-worshippers they would be scars. I hope we do get khan soon
I like Jaghatai because of the sass
@@Le-cp9tr
"I heard from a contact on Mars, Jaghatai, that you do strange things to your ships."

You need to buy it twice for full primarch
mine is coming with the lions
Constantine valdor looks like a max lvl character in raid gear
I mean it makes sense. He fought in the unification wars with the Emperor and all the way until the end of the Horus Heresy. That's longer than most primarchs have been loyal.

@@pwntatochip123 Kirioth will remain unforgiven
Perturabo really sells the walking tank vibe. The only way I can think of improving it would be if there was an extra, smaller gun on his shoulder pointed in the same direction as the main one to further push the tank robot look.
Alpahrius looks like he's downward partying with his spear to me. Especially with the split in the spear. Like it's to lock the enemy's weapon to disarm them. That's very alpahrius
Not gonna lie he looks like lawbringer from For Honor
What i like about the Alpharius model is that, when you look at the base, everything is very drab and dirty. And then Alpharius just looks like hes glowing with power or simething
The thing I like about Rogal Dorn’s is they’ve depicted him in a scene that works on any battlefield. He’s found (or created) a lull in the fighting in his immediate vicinity and is taking the moment to assess the battlefield, calculating his next move. Like you said, it’s not just a pose, he’s just a badass.
Best thing about the Alpharius model is that his spearhead looks like the tip of a fountain pen, proving himself mightier than all the other primarchs using swords.
Gorillaman looks like he is at a photo shoot for a calendar and he was told to do a classic "CHARGE!" pose, but he can't look like he is shouting, because then everyone in the studio would faint. His expression fits better with a "come at me pose", if he was putting his left side forward and holding his sword down by his right side, still with the scabbard gripped by his left hand, he would look much more powerful.
Like Dorn, who looks like he just calmly walked into a room filled by an entire company of Night Lords, slaughtered 10 of them without getting a single drop of blood on him and then stopping to coldly dare anyone to even try and kill him.
Guilliman *
for rowboat it would probably been better if they went for something related to Calth and the book (maybe crushing the WB head like on the book cover)
I really wish Sanguinius had a different pose. I love the character, and we're never going to get a 40k model for him, so we're stuck with that. And since you can't get the scenic base anymore, it just doesn't do it for me.
For the price, you'd think a spare set of legs firmly planted on the ground and a less windswept look hairdo would come standard
Recasters probably make the base if its the one im thinking of. Recasters are your friend especially when it comes to discontinued or __________ exclusive models.
@@squigin3380 do you know any reliable recaster site online? I would like some discontinued forgeworld things
@@PoorManatee6197 You'll laugh but try Ali Express. there's a lot of them on there some are better than others but there are reviews on a lot of them.
@@squigin3380 ok i will try, thank you.
With Fulgrim, I actually preferred the preview version that FW had shown before it's release. The smile was one that conveyed arrogance and pride. And on the right hand was the Legion Standard, instead of the sword.
That Sanguinius Laurel wreath....why did you have to point that out!!! I feel physically sick.
From my top 3 to the bin.
I know right, it looks so bad. And they even had some of his hair going around the outside of it so it feels like they knew it was wrong
Russ's pose is an attack, he's sprinting into a twisting attack to his right. I think its awsome.
I green stuffed a nice handlebar moustache on Dorns model when I bought him, I think it's perfect.
I’m gonna do the same thing. For my bois in yellow!
Honestly Curze is borderline first, he is so cool and the entire model just screams "I am going to eviscerate you and laugh while doing it"
#1: The Lion, whenever he gets released
Bonusthought: imagine Rogal Dorn as Clint Eastwood and you have to give him some love!
I realize that the Lion must not have been released by the time this video was made, but he would definitely be at the top of my list! His model is amazing! I would definitely put Alpharius as coming in 2nd though, because he just looks fantastic as well.
Forgeworld has real difficulty making Space Wolves for some reason
Yea, but here on russ we can see fur which does not look like strung shit fur. Its odd.
A regular occurance through this video "I don't like his face". Makes me wonder if your order would have changed if all the models had a helmet :)
I know mine would, the only problem I have with Dorn is that goofy look on his face
@@christophersmith8848 Agreed, I'd want to attempt to green stuff his mouth to be just like a flat line, not smiling or unhappy, just neutral. The current one he's got looks like he's suffering from something :/
It’s the lack of handlebar mustache with Dorn...
The helmets need to be there, especially a fighter that's important. unhelmeted while wearing a the rest of a power armor suit almost defeats the point. A vengeance round or a few heavy bolter shots/plasma cannon fire to the face would kill any space marine or primarch. It just looks wrong
Honestly too these models are a single representation of characters we love and know so well and I feel like it's highly unlikely any sculptor would have any luck making one model of a character we love so much that would even make 1/4 of us happy. My list is a little distracted than yours but like you it's just a bunch of little things that make you second guess the entire model. Love your videos!
The difference between Guilimun and Dorne is that Guilliman looks like he's trying to be cool, while Dorne looks like he just is cool.
This list is extremely traitor biased, and I approve.
drakensoft i don‘t. Because that makes all the analysis, he did pretty invalid. It furthermore just uncovers all the inconsistencies in his judgement, because you start paying attention to it. Best example would be the horrific models of Fulgrim and Angron, which both have the same weaknesses like Corax and Sanguinius, that he rated higher than Dorne. It‘s just not consistent by his own logics. I mean, that‘s fine, but why even bother making an analysis in the first place, when it really mostly comes down, to whom he likes best (apart from Fulgrims and Dornes ranking).
Bruh he said it's just his opinion
@@zamanthafensterscheibe3601 bro chill
Ferrous looks amazing if you imagine that he's just hit a phenomenal home run in the Inter-Legion Baseball game
I personally love the Sanguinius pose, with the exception of the hair. The whole descending like an angel of vengeance thing feels VERY Blood Angels to me as a Blood Angels player.
Leman Russ' pose makes perfect sense once you freehand a red imprint of a hand to his left cheek.
Sanguinius' hair looks like it was originally intended to be on a lying down model. As a matter of fact the whole model looks like it would be better lying broken on a staircase... At Horus' feet.
lol
Savage xD
Squigin HERE
HERESY
Too soon.
I was lucky enough to pick up an Alpharius model early during warhammer fest I believe. It was something like a month before it's full release. I gotta say, it's a really nice model to paint. There's so much detail that really doesn't need work but then so much more you can pick out if you wanted to. 10/10. Would be Alpharius again.
The Leman Russ model looks like he ran into room ready to F things up, as he enters everyone yells 'SURPRISE' and throws confetti at him and he is looking around the room super confused like 'wait what!?'
Lmao
😂
I like how dynamic russ's model is. He is moving and turning about to deliver a backhand attack at combat speed.
That Alpharius is waaaaay too big. Looks nice but the lore demands his scale taken down a bit.
@Zackary Kozik I don't remember him ever being big. From what I remember he is always the smallest.
@Zackary Kozik i do, in one of my audio books it was said that despite his small stature he would always stand as upright as possible when with his brothers in a vain attempt to appear equal. Also this is how he was able to blend into his own legion.
@@vivimusjenos8174 that definitely reads as short, doesn't it?
@@popburnsy3207 sorry i'm not sure what you mean?
@@vivimusjenos8174 the bit you mentioned literally includes the words "small stature". He's trying to seem taller than he actually is to compensate.
The gel effects for water you can use to be the “dust trails”holding up small rocks for the impact of the foot
I really wish the Primarch Series weren't so monoposed. I wish they would of been less diorama and more actual tabletop miniature if that makes sense.
sanguinius should have a helmet i think that would help him so much
Top spot for the LION , we dont even know what he looks look, and top spot, that good
And now that we do, he's still on the top of the list.
Thank you for 45 Minutes of killing boredom again :)
The sanguinius miniature's pose is identical to a lot of imagery depicting the archangel Michael descending from heaven, sword in hand. Plenty of paintings and sculptures made and I think it's a good fit for Sanguinius
Yeah, I still think they should have adjusted it slightly to make it look less weird outside of the scenic base. But the Idea is still VERY much awesome.
i think i dislike guliman the most. i just see him posing for a painting and not in a war field. and second last is gonna be horus himself. i just don't feel any power or dread or charm that i have heard him be described as. i always thought he should look more like a main character instead of a dude in power armor
Gee thanks. I never saw that about my Sanguinius wreath, now I can't unsee it.
Wonderful video, extra insightful! And I'm sure CM Valrak is losing his mind about Perturabo being so high up the list~ *laughter
Bugs me a tiny bit that Magnus' eye looks closed rather than smooth
Sanguinius’ pose is based on the most famous painting of archangel Michael. It would be much better if his pose mirrored it instead of just echoing it.
You got Perturabo's name right the second time. Its supposed to sound like Per-tur-a-bo from what I understand.
My favorite has to be Pert, that is until Lion comes out.
I find it kinda funny that Horus's pose looks like he's in the middle of a disco contest
The issue with Vulkan is you can’t really tell whether he’s moving backwards or forwards. If the flames were a little smaller or streaming in the opposite direction to his movement it would improve his silhouette.
Do you plan to do an update for this video now that all the primarchs are released, or do you plan to wait til the Emperor is released?
Love the Kurze model. Had great fun with it. The Cape was the best bit. Can go really bloody/fresh or really old/dry look. Those claws were a menace to position
I just got the Alpharius model last week, painting has now begun :)
1. Perturabo. His armor is just awesome, wrist mounted cannons and the knight he’s standing on makes it even better.
2. Angron. Everything about the model is amazing.
3. Lorgar. He may be a failure but his armor and his pose are perfect. Exactly how I imagine him.
4 & 5 Dorn and Vulkan. Cool poses. Dorn’s base is a little plain but the model makes up for it, that and he is in fact easy to paint.
6. Corax
7. Horus
8. Konrad
9. Magnus
10. Alpharius/Omegon/body double 16328
11.Mortarion
12. Fulgrim
13. Russ
14. Ferrus Manus
15. Guilliman. He’s just so... “Ultramarine”
16. Sanguinius. Honestly, the model isn’t as great as I initially thought. Needs a helmet and repose.
Not sure why my Orky Minnesotan ass is sitting here in quarantine watching reviews of primarchs but I love your friendly take on things. Stay healthy buddy!
I think the issue with the staticness in the dudes that angron is knocking down would be solved if the guy on the left was bent inwards instead of outwards, it'd make it look more like he just took a hard blow and like he was falling
Considering Lion is on the way and we've already seen his model where would you put him on this list?
Never liked lorgar to much. His model feels... Lanky to me his chest seems a bit to big in proportion to the rest of him
The Dragon Den I really have to agree with you
In my opinion, the problem with Lorgar's model is the pose. Lorgar is a religious zealot and his model just doesn't capture that.
If I posed him, I would actually have him similar to the way he is now, but with his free hand outstretched towards an invisible crowd, and I would have him yelling instead of looking stoic. I want him to look like he's preaching to a congregation, like he's saying, "Can I get an AMEN?!"
Just my two cents.
@@SolemnHeretic I'm just imagining the dark apostle models pose would've been perfect
So that's where space marines get it
Off Balance is the right word for Ferrus Manus. The way he is positioned it is almost like he will fall from the impact when his weapons connects. Just some slight adjustements would have been fine. Leaning a little bit more forward, the Hammer strike comming from a higher angle and the feet positioned more firmly on the ground. First thing that came to mind. On with the video. :)
Mate thanks for putting these videos out great having something to think about other than the bizarre norm at the mo! Stay safe out there!
I was happy to see Alpharious on top, my only Primarch in have painted, he looks awesome, the spear is... Fragile but some pins fixes that.
Great idea for a video man! Really really enjoyed it. More like this please! 🙂
which do you thinks is better the games workshop gullimen or the forage world one?
With the new Lion-release today, where would you put him in your list?
Best ting about alpahrius is that you can use the model twice and it would make sense
is it just me that wants to make a spearfishing Alpharius?
I havent even known that there is a model of Alpharius. He really looks the best. I think it is mostly because of the helmet, it just looks more brutal and stoic than if we could see their faces.
I feel Corax should be higher on the list but that could be my own bias. And im still waiting for the Khan
Sanguinius gets a 0/10 for me because he’s supposed to be smoking hot and that is one ugly mug
My problem with Guilliman is that his 40K pose is better.
His 30K pose is like, rearline command.
His 40K pose is more "follow me men"
Now, I don't know how much of that is that one of their bases is broken staturey and a slain enemy
while the other is on a freaking marble pedestal, but yeah, the super fancy collector's edition forgeworld primarch shouldn't look worse off than the basic GW primarch in any aspect is the real point here.
Is it just me or does Russ' sword look like a more extreme version of frostmourne?
Perturabo gives me iron horde vibes!
And also constantin is the coolest lore character, his armor is busy because he is/was like, the most decorated fighter / general in the imperium? He is my boy, Ave imperator!
Also, alpharius is amazing, him having a spear is amazing oberyn martell vibes!
Can you use the Demon primarch models for the 30k game?
Great list. Now you need to do the captains and champions and such for each legion. If Sevatar doesn't win, I'm calling shenanigans.
for a easy blood spray cut piece clear plastic
to shape and paint some of blood effects on glue where need done
I have a third-hand Mortarion I had to do a fair bit of repair and conversion work on (it was in *rough* shape) and I'm not a fan of the original face. Replaced it with an Intercessor kit head that had a respirator on and a new green stuff hood and I think I actually prefer it with the replacement (previous owner attempted a half-ass customization that did not work and the original face was beyond saving).
I actually kinda like the Sanguinius pose. Very "Archangel Michael fighting the devil" sort of pose, which I assumed was an intentional art reference
I think having a diorama with Alpahrius' model and Dorn's model would look fucking awesome. Alpharius executing a marine at the bottom of the steps with standing at the top, recovering and getting ready.
Perturabo's correct way of saying is the second one. Great video! I basically agree with you on everything. Love the series!
Happy to say I called two of the top three, Alpharius and Perturabo, who also happen to be my favourites. Thought maybe Fulgrim or Vulkan would be the third.
Could we get timestamps of each Primarch and where they appear??
Where do you rank the new lion el Johnson model?
In general I like miniatures with open, more static poses. Aside from being easier to paint, they also fit better in every situation and if it's neutral, it can't be a bad pose after all.
I think the terrain of the base might be part of the problem with the Leman Russ model. The way he looks slightly to the right of the direction he's running, I think it would work better if there was a wall on his right side, as it looks like he's about to run around a corner to face a foe currently out of his field of vision.
And I think the difference between Guilliman and Dorn is in the pose they gave the models. Guilliman looks like he's posing for a photoshoot away from battle whereas Dorn looks like he's posing before his enemies to appear intimidating. If Guilliman had looked like he was raising his gladius to challenge an unseen opponent, it would've left more of an impact.
Perturabo is beautiful
In defence of sanginuis' hair, I think he's supposed to have his hair pushed back rather than to the sides which is why if you look at the back of his head the hair is over the top of loral wreath
Misty eyed in Dark Angel.
Cross fingered they don't make a complete git out of the Lion or the great Khan for that matter.
The new Lion El Johnson Model is awesome
Enjoyed this opinion piece. The one opinion I have that I might add just for conversations sake, is, the marines on the bases of the primarch models are seperate and do not need to be represented in the final build. So for instance Angron's model I would most likely do without any marines on his base at all, and then you are just left with a perfect representation of Angron raging over rubble on the battlefield. It would clean him up quite a bit and draw all the attention on his model to him and him alone.
I think those flames look off for you on Vulkan is because thy're painted wrong, they get brighter towards the tip, which isn't proper for fire.
I too have a Lorgar. The plan is to turn him into Captain Silas Alberec of the Exorcists. Need a tall marine and his armor isn't as super obvious as the other primarchs.
Corvus’ hair will just get sucked into his jetpack 12:20 😂
When you look at Lorgar from the side he’s almost leaning forward like he’s about to fall over, and I would prefer if he just stood straight. Some warp stuff around him would much better represent his uses in-game.
The difference between Guilimann and Dorn is one has a big red cape that shows presence and the other has a white cape that become invisible due to the background
There's the video I've been waiting for. Thanks Kiri!
Still can't unsee the likeness between perturabo and Dynamo (the electric guy) from the running man"
Absolutely agreed with alpharius, he's so imposing :) I'd love to see you rank different imperium vehicles, such as the mastadon (my favourite) and other flyers/tanks :)
The problem I have with mortarion is his lack of his darth vader esc. respirator that he had before it merged with him in his demon form
Thanks for the video Kiri! I love almost all of them! lol
