its very similar to initial flocculation techniques use in water treatment facilities. the key to it is timing. dont move so fast as to agitate the algae.

There are a number of things you can do. Bury it in a desert where it will sequester carbon for many, many years. Or burn it for energy, which returns the atmospheric carbon back to the atmosphere.
