This was easily the most brilliant marketing maneuver by an independent artist in history. Em was doing a charity auction of some rare, unique items and one of the items in the package was a beat Em produced titled 'Stan's Revenge.' When he made it, I'm sure he only thought it would go to a fan as nothing more than a rare, prized MP3 they could say they owned. Tom saw this and instantly saw an opportunity. Instead of just having an Eminem beat to languish in a file somewhere, Tom endeavored to make it into a song that would not only raise his profile, but get his idol's attention as well!
I knew of both of them before the "Facts" song but Tom did get about 1 million new followers after it. Tom has had around 30 songs @ #1 on the billboard charts so you are right both can be true. Tom is versatile and a lyrical genius. He started writing poetry as a child. His GF is the talent behind the video, she is also an accomplished rapper. You should check out more of Tom's music for sure.
Tom Didn't buy this beat from M&M... M had donated the beat to a charity, Nova saw it on the interweb, Tom called his bank... up my limits and got the beat for 100k. It is strange no big master plan from Tom & Nova, they just keep grinding and everything falls into place. Same with the song "Facts", Ben was interviewing Tom on his show and Ben was joking around about rapping on a Tom song... Tom made it happen and we got another No. 1. Tom spent $100k on a beat from Eminem called “Stan’s Revenge”, just to say “Thank You”. Who does that? Tom does that.

Even in Nikki's tweets with Ben, she claimed she didn't know who Tom was. Do I totally believe that? Idk but he went #1 in all genres world wide.

Loved this reaction. Well done. If you want some real bar heavy songs you should listen to boom bap 101. I'm sorry. Don't look down. What I will say though is Ben definitely didn't put him on the map. He's been number 1 and in the top 10 on the billboards over 30 times.
