- Welcome to Steel City RC channel. This is a transmission gear plate removed from a Redcat Rampage MT V3. To do this gear change. Transmission gear plate removal is NOT necessary for gear swap. I just had it there and out already. The Maverick gears part number is in the video twice. Got them off Ebay.
O. M. G. !!!! Finnally , great job detective !! 😂💪 I've been looking for upgraded gears for mine for a FREEKN year , this is great news , thanks so much !!
Yo thanks! Unfortunately it looks like these gears are discontinued.. Our luck hey
Great Video Man.cant wait to see it RIP. As a welder/ fabricator. I agree 💯 percent.those are made from powdered junky compressed steel.i can tell from the color. Lawn mower transmission gear made from the same type material. Its very brital.tjey will not with any type of movement or flexing .The new gears looks like quality to me.looking at your set up there.i could see there being some flexing going on there.i hope does better for you .but if it does it again i think i would look into reinforcement to Your steel plate to eliminate movement if new gears doesn't solve all your problems.good luck and take Care Bud!
Good info man. Cheap Chinesium is what those gears from Redcat are lol. There is definitely flex in that transmission. Using 8mm shafts. A cover with bearings pressed into it for the ends of the shafts would help.
Nice video G. The new gears do look to be high quality, I agree.
Tappy taparoo!
Lmao I need a brass hammer.. But yeah man the gears seem of quality huh?
@@SteelCityRC for sure brother. By the looks I think you’re going to be right on
Love your Video on these gears G 👍👍
Thanks RC brother 🤟👊
Good to see you G. Hope the gears hold up for ya. Thanks for sharing buddy 👊
Thanks man! Got these as a back up. Hoping for good results.
Nice find G-Man, my red has been on shelf for the same reason, I have the belt system to but your limited, looking forward to your run video, thanks for sharing man💯👍
Maaan they look to be discontinued though.. Wish I had a local machine shop to make these.
I'll be watching to see how much you get out of these. I'm working on a belt drive setup (when I get time). I would definitely buy a set of gears that are good just to have ready! Thanks for the video g!
That is exactly my thoughts. I have a belt system on the MT currently. When it breaks, I will put these gears on. Nice having a back up.
I use the Gears from the MCD V4, best Quallity.
Yes. There ya go! Got a part number to share with us? Thanks
@@SteelCityRC Here is a link as an example, it is best to buy several gear pairings. Since the transmission plates of MCD and Redcat are different, you have to try out what fits together. However, the quality of the gears is unsurpassed.
Nice! My set has been holding. They are truly hard to find and when you do they are not the cheapest. Lol only time will tell how strong they are.
Good to hear! They seem good quality.
@@SteelCityRC I got the other set because I run bigger wheels. I will cross my fingers and look for your running videos.
I just asked Santa Lol for a Rovan 360. Do you remember what tie rods work with the Kraken x2e extended arm kit?
@rcbrooks3543 nice man. Hope you get it. The steering links I used are for a Losi mtxl. Perfect length. Of course hard to find lol
Awesome work! I’ve heard about these gears but couldn’t find them anywhere. I’ve been through several sets of the stock powdered gears on both my MT and dunerunner. I’m interested to see how long these will hold up to power.
Thanks! Very hard to find. I was in the same boat. Next weak link is the 8mm shafts. Time will tell. Appreciate you stopping by 👊🤘
Im.excoted to see how they perform and last/hold up. I have 2 rampages both with the belt drives from stern RC.
What is up man! I have both my Redcat fitted with the belt too. Just so much drag from the belt. Got these gears as back up. Appreciate you stopping by 🤘👊
💯👍💪✊️🙏
Thanks man. Hoping for good results
Hey Gman, i'm not familiar with the Redcat but those oem's look like they may be sintered gears. Good luck with your new ones
Thanks Brian. Been years of struggle with Redcat gears. Finally figured out these would fit. Only to find out these are discontinued..
hahaha - Holy smokes G-Man! I still can't find those gears. I Googled it, I've checked on ebay - HPI had them at some point but that shows discontinued. Are they from another country?
Very hard to find gears. Hoping HPI makes them again, since they have been making the baja again.
I see the stock gears are reduced in price from what it looks like, less than sixty bucks. I'm going to start looking for someone local to machine me some hardened gears and see where that leads
@@SteelCityRC
@@MR.B.1620 great idea. I tried sourcing a local machine shop. Wanted me to make 50 of them... Very costly
@@SteelCityRC be nice I suppose if a feller had clients needing them hahahaha. I've got a couple I'm going to try. I'll buy another factory set I suppose and see if someone will replicate that. Small town living hopefully has its advantages here
Where can I get those new gears
What is up! The part number is in the video. I typed that number into Ebay and they came up. Good luck finding brother!
Hey G trying to find these gears in high speed or the standard steel gears for my Maverick Blackout M/T I’m still running the first Gen plastic gears and wanting to upgrade but I’ve searched high and low for them on internet and Ebay.
If anyone has a set of these and want to sell please let me know. I’m in Australia🇦🇺🇦🇺 Going crazy trying to source them I went to HPI Site and says they are discontinued.
I’m sure someone would have a set somewhere please!
They are a tough find anymore. We are a few years too late it seems. Appreciate you stopping by!!
Where can I get the bearings for the diff plate ? I bought the same one but my old bearing don’t fit the new one they are too small
So you bought a new gear plate and the original bearings don't fit?
Yea they don’t fit , the original gear plate is hard plastic and the new one I got is the one you showing in the video , the wholes for the bearings are too big
@antoniomojica148 I bet the clutch bell shaft you have is shorter too. You can get a complete set of bearings for the Rampage MT from Fast Eddy website.
Oh... and don't call me Shirly... hahahaha!!... anyhow. I found them out of stock for 118 euros?
Smack Shirley around lmao. Yeah off Ebay from Italy
Ha ha haaaa!! I found one set on EBay the high speed version and the dude would not ship to Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🥲🥲🥲🥲
@@TheSV62006 That sucks!!
