It’s so true! Some of the most stressful moments in my life were during the last two years of med school, residency, and my first fellowship. There were points at which I said to myself “they can do anything to me, but they can’t stop the clock”. That was my inner monologue mantra!
I thought it would be "Bill" not because it was a loop but because that would let him keep playing "Bill" while having the fun of pretending it was a different Bill.
I ABSOLUTELY expected Neurology to ruin it for poor Bill, but then... he didn't, and I'm in TEARS. (I realize he is a fictional character but I'm so proud of all the BIlls in the world). We'll pray for Phil's survival.
Bill graduates, and is ready to start his own family practice where he works tirelessly for an ungrateful crowd, essentially what he's already familiar with. GO BILL!
40 years later- my dad is still going fresh in family medicine! 69 years young! I’m finally taking him on his first European trip next week! All expenses paid for him!
Congratulations! And thank you for choosing healthcare. We have such of shortage of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers right now so I know it's making a challenging career even more challenging to enter the field the way it is currently. Whenever you have a hard day, just remember: Jonathan loves you.
It’s been about a decade since I’ve felt this amount of genuine pride and happiness for a fictional character, and the last one was a fully funded tv show with years building up
I was half expecting someone to say there was something wrong with Bill’s paperwork and he would be stuck there for a while longer but he’s free!! Our thoughts and prayers are with Phil
As somebody who is about to graduate pediatric residency this summer; I felt all the feels and cried! Thank god for my residency class and us making it through! Off to attending life!! 🎉
As another pediatric resident about to graduate, I felt all the feels as well. Best of luck in this new chapter! It’s our time to wear the unicorn headbands 😜
As a pediatrician who finished residency 39 years ago (gulp!) and is about to enter her 40th year at the same community health center, best of luck to both of you! I hope you find where you were meant to be!
Oh my gosh! Just today, I thought about two brothers I graduated from high school with in 1978--Phil and Bill. Had not thought about them in many years. This is uncanny. Good luck, Dr. Bill!
He finally did it! We're all so proud of you Bill! Best of luck with all his future endeavors! And welcome to the new resident, Phil! May god have mercy on him, because Neurology sure won’t.
Graduated residency 10 years ago. Every moment of this video resonated in my soul. As a colleague of mine wisely said: “Residency sucks but no one can keep the clock from ticking towards the inevitable and glorious end.”
This is the most uplifting thing I have seen in a long time. I am so glad Bill made it out, hopefully he is going to specialize in a field that lets him get plenty of rest
This made me tear up in the beginning. Bill went through so much. And then I laughed at the end. Awesome video! Oh, and good luck Phil. We will be cheering for you along your residency journey😂
Right before he popped out, I thought to myself that the neurologist is going to pop out any second. Lo and behold, he did. But I did not expect that to be so tearful. Congrats Bill!
We didn't lose Bill! We'll always have a Bill or Phil or Jill or Will....hey wait - Will? Bill? that's Glaucomflecken's name!!! Clever! 😂😂😂 And horrifying! 😩😩😩
I was never a resident, but as a former Unit Secretary and CNA, I could feel the relief and excitement through the video! I watched over many a snoozing resident on PEDS during their 12, 48, 36 hour calls. Godspeed Bill! And Phil, let me inform you about my chart organization.
Congratulations Bill!! When I was close to graduating someone asked what residency was like. My answer was "transformative." I am not the same person I was before I did residency, both in good ways and in bad.
I'm sooo happy and relieved on behalf of Bill.. I was really nervous until he actually went out of the door, it's like the final part of a horror thriller
Run Bill. Run as fast as you can. When they say “Fellowship?” you just keep running. When they say “Chief Year?” you just keep running. Run as far away as you can, and never, I repeat, never, look back.
Grats, Bill! you survived. I somehow don't remember my last day of residency but it sure wasn't capped off by attendings lining up to tell me goodbye 😆
I can recognise Samuel Kim's music from a mile away 😂. I was so scared that Bill was going to wake up from a dream and realise that he has 30 more years to finish residency.
Honestly, I come back to watch this time and time again because this actually makes me feel like when I was leaving residency. The video encapsulates everything in the most accurate of ways.
I can relate, in around two weeks time I’ll be finally graduating high school. It’s been hell, especially with Covid around and everything. And Bill telling Phil how it’s really like in there is more than realistic for your typical American high school. Congratulations Dr. Bill!
Yes! Dr Bill finally finished his residency! I need to what happens next! I’d love to see him go in to Infectious Disease. As for Dr Phil? Doesn’t matter.
"It has to end eventually" is probably the realist thing I've ever heard about residency
SO ACCURATE IT HURTS 🥲🥹
I contemplated suicide on a regular basis because of the mistreatment, crushing work load and abuse.

Neurologist: "Fresh meat."
This is my exact same thought!
I read that in Ms. Trunchbull’s voice from Matilda.😂
Yes! The loaded eyebrows and that grin! 🤣😂
Lmao I was chanting fresh meat to myself

That moment when you realize Bill is a nickname for William, the real name of Dr. Glaucomflecken.
He's the truest character.
Aw. 💕
😮
🤯
Practically every William that I've met over the years was shortened to Will.
Wonder why Doc Glaucomflecken was shortened to Bill.🤔
@@EvilPaladin11 in real life, he goes by Will. Bill seems to be a way to separate the two.
We all knew Bill was destined for big things!
Yea absolutely humongous things. Like his student loan debt right now. Good luck with that, Bill >:)
Yeah, like another 1-2 years of fellowship starting the following week!
One day he can have a fight with the cardiologist. Legally.
He's on the way...to becoming a hospital admin.
I'm so proud of him
Am I the only one who actually cried ❤❤❤❤Good luck Dr Bill.
No I did too 😣proof I've gotten too invested in the Glaucomflecken cinematic universe
Over here, too. i have a spare kleenex if you need one.
It was close. 😢😂
I felt relief for Bill! lol
@@le_th_ Same. But poor Phil . . . 😁

I'm thinking that Jonathan was too busy assisting the Ophthalmologist at his clinic on this day.
@@steveg6199 Jonathan is never too busy. He's Jonathan.
Jonathan and the Ophthalmologist already went home for the day 6 hours ago

Don’t worry, I’m sure Emergency Medicine will get him properly supplied.

what an indictment🙃

I’m finishing residency in a few months too and I feel this one in my bones. Run free, Bill! Run free.

The best advice I got from an attending: "Residency sucks. Then it's over"
Harsh truth is prefered, imo.
Our internship motto was: "Life sucks. And then you die." From the land of 120+ hour weeks.
have i been following for too long that i'm now witnessing bill graduate?
It's concerning, isn't it? But you can't help but be pleased for him!

The Star Wars theme was an interesting touch.
