Had the chance to meet this guy when he stayed on our hotel in maribago, he was so humble a very polite person easy to deal with! Nice meeting you rob! This is jason btw!😊
The normal top class review we expect from Rob. Very good that you informed us of the hotel's relative isolation if one doesn't have a car. I am not a golfer but the course looked challenging, and attractive. Someone who wanted a couple of days' rest and relaxation might find this hotel to their liking. The breakfast buffet looked OK, as Rob said. I wonder were the waffles kept hot? This can be annoying in southeast Asia; food that should be served hot is only lukewarm, or worse, cold. Very good that the video also showed the nearby (unrelated) Filipino BBQ establishment.
That is actually a nicer course compared to others on Cebu. I wonder if that golf course is exclusively for members or hotel guests only as I cannot find green fee information on their FB page and the link to their site is broken. Search results do not lead to any green fee info either. I golf for fitness and leisure / stress relief. I prefer to walk and push / pull a handcart myself instead of riding on a golf cart; I'm not sure if this is allowed on PH courses. It seems to me that golfing in PH generally requires caddies to accompany players; I am not a pro on a tour so I don't require a caddie which would just make me nervous or uncomfortable and throw me off my game instead of being in Zen mode or in the zone. I intend to bring my golf gear with me to PH after the big holidays through February of next year. Like many hotels in PH, this one is pricing itself out too when one can get a nice airbnb accommodation for considerably less.
@@FindingParadise Thank you for the video and your reply. It is this lack of transparency that bothers me. Not publishing a established pricing schedule means that you are subject to the whims of whoever you're dealing with fee wise not to mention that it is unprofessional for a business to operate in such a manner.
Yeah I'm not a fan of that either just put the price out there and be done with it. I guess a least if you book a package with the hotel the price is set.
When I checked their package (so it includes accommodation) they had 1 round of golf for 6800. I not sure of just if you are a walk in. On their Facebook page which I showed in the video they said they can provide prices.
@@FindingParadise I have played in Alta Vista and I tell you what those caddies can read the green better than any social player out with a double digit handicap
That's usd? I'm so used to php now so that would be something under 10k php. Low season you can get dusit thani under 10 (not including tax) that's a good option. I have reviewed that place in my channel if you want to see more about it. I'm actually staying there now for Christmas. These's a few updates that I'll make in a new vid shortly but the jift of the place is what I had in that previous video. Have a great Christmas 🎄and take care
Thanks for the detailed response! I'll be visiting Cebu and Bohol in early January. Dusit Thani was on my list, so that helps with the decision. Thanks again! Merry Christmas!
I'm still editing the new Dusit video. Been a bit busy. Bohol's a great place to visit. I did do some vlogs on that place recently. Hope you have a great trip!
Nice! I'm in Cebu end of January for a month, have stayed in montebello for many years and was last there in 2020 but told it was closing? Apparently its still ooen? Any chance you coukd pop in and get a update on facilities? May bump into you one day. Cheers!
I had a pop in. The girls at reception said they are not closing. Just looking around the place quickly only 1 of their pool has had an upgrade and a glass conference room in the outside area, other than that it looks the same as I remembered.
It will end up like all new places the owners will get lazy and wont keep tabs on it and oversee the running of it, and the place will go downhill and the staff wont care things will break down and not get fixed. And general deteriation until it closes everything goes the same way there.

Cheers nice meeting you
I’m at the hotel right now. Excellent rooms, food and service. We watched your video before booking. Excellent choice.
Glad you're enjoying your stay. Hopefully you can enjoy a bit of golf too!
Great one Rob
Cheers mate! I think this one wouldn't be your cup of tea.

Cheers Edmund. I actually didn't try to waffles. I'm trying to eat more healthier, too many buffets has put the weight on ;)

They did say they allow walk ins. Just message them in their Facebook page they said they would answer questions and prices. Cheers

Great stuff. How much for 18 holes Rob? Might have a game there and try it out. Thanks

No worries! See if you can beat her score!

Great video! If you had to pick a resort on Mactan Island under $200 USD, which one would you choose?

Their chicken curry was good too!
Yum! Looking forward to it, thank you👍

I hope not as the place looks nice and they got some exciting things still to come online. I guess only time will tell.
