- A popular street food in Thailand that is also vegan and addictive! Crispy, warm, tender tofu goes really well with the sweet and sour peanut sauce. The sauce is also great for dipping anything deep fried!

Pailin: I have a tamarind allergy.... could I substitute something else or just leave it out. Fish sauce, lime???
How long it will last the sauce?

Looks so yummy! I love watching your cooking you make everything look easier to cook. 😊
This sauce is fantastic!! I served with fried tofu puff stuffed with minced meat and my family loved it. thank you so much for the great recipe.
Made this yesterday! Came out kinda chewy but that's because I got impatient and didn't wait until the oil was at 375. The last batch I made and cooked at 375 came out so crispy perfect. Thanks!
Just made a version of this as a quarantine meal. It was DELICIOUS.
just love all your blooper moments at the end of the videos
Wow... I loved it. Made a mistake of forgetting to add water and added pounded red chilli instead of dried. Loved it. Thank you so much. Yummy.
Appreciate if you could give more recipe which is veg and also with no sugar. ❤️
Just made this…a simple but delicious dish …thank you for putting this recipe on your channel!
For the sauce, I didn't use the blender, just put everything in a pot and reduced it. Still so good. Thank you for sharing the recipe :)
This is one of my favorite dishes!! I can't wait to make this!
Lovely recipe! Found you channel a little while ago and am really enjoying it.
Thank you! I made this for my wife last night and it was perfect. I kept the tofu in those triangles and gave them a light toss in corn starch. I did my own spin on the dipping sauce. Similar but different. White wine, white vinegar, palm sugar, ghost pepper (yum!), white sugar, garlic, soy sauce, a pinch of sesame seed oil and fresh cilantro. This will be a new staple in our home. :)

Thanks for this simple dish. I had them at Thai restaurants before but have no idea how to make the sauce. Also, you make a great ambassador for Thailand via Thai food.

yummmm so good
Love this. Similar to our Tahu Goreng as we like to call it in Singapore.
Yummy!
Thats it!!!.. i am subscribe...
Omg she is the best
Darling sauce. Love love love
I made this tonight using extra firm tofu but I'm gonna get firm tomorrow to make again!! Thanks a bunch!!
Good on you with fun !
Made this last night. My sauce didn’t thicken as much as in the video even though I did everything to the T. It was still delicious but quite liquidy. This sauce is great on anything...I’m thinking chicken nuggets! The tofu, I guess I fried for too long so it was quite dry. Will try again tonight.
I've started seeing pineapple vinegar on the shelf too. It might be good in this recipe
Made this tonight for dinner (we're vegetarian). Really wonderful! I watched the video three times because I thought I must be missing something that would make it complicated. Easy, delicious, great.

ขอบคุณค่ะ Thank you ;-)
Nice.
I found this in Chatuchak weekend market, as a tofu lover felt like home.
Hi fren its good to show us more vegetable food...
I love this dish. Extra good with boba tea.
Sawatdi Kha Pai! Can you make a video of the bitter dipping sauce? 😊. Please!
This will be good as salad dressing also. In indonesia we eat this peanut sauce with kind of tropical fruit like papaya, pineapple, green manggo (unripe) or any other fruit. We call that RUJAK but with more chilies 🔥🔥🔥
Or leave the peanut aside, just the palm sugar, tamarind water, garlic and shallot, and chilies, seasoning with pich of salt & pepper. Blend all the ingredients in a mortar and then put in the tofu inside of the mortar then give a lil smash, not too much just to blend it all. We call it TAHU GEJROT, mean tofu crushed or something sound like that 😁. Give it a try pai. Love your kitchen ❤❤
My fav food of all time XD
Yummy
excellent . .looks so good. what size of copper wok are you using? larger than 8 inches?
👌👌👌👌👌so good
Omg I love Tofu Tod!!
Love your frying pan , where did you buy it from ?
Hi Pai , how about Asian Ginger broth please ? For the Vegan 😊. Thank you very much 🌹!
YUMMY.
Hi Pai! I'm wondering about the tamarind you use. Seems to thin to be a paste... what is it? Also if I use fresh tamarind what is the ratio of liquid to add to keep the same consistency? Thanks!!
Hi Pai! Do you have any good recipes for squid/octopus? Please share if you do. Thanks!! 😊
yay I love tofu!!
How long can I keep the sauce for? I’d like to make a batch of it. I would assume not to add the peanuts in until I’m ready to use it?
Hi Palin, next time you make this try it with "medium firm" tofu. I use medium firm (Hinochi brand. Blue package), cuz it gives me crisp skin but juicier inside. I just put the whole loaf on top of a strainer in or out of cooler for a couple of hours, or even over night. Trust me!! This is the BEST way to remove water from tofu block. Paper towel only removes a very very TINY fraction of water, and ONLY from the surface. I even tried this with soft firm tofu, which I left overnight. It had great crispy outside but very hollow and JUICY inside... it was like a super crisp, yet juicy PUFF!! IT was awesome and worth the trouble
Yes, this real vegetarian don't have fish sauce and oyster sauce , I like the recipe thanks for sharing
Do we need to use extra firm tofu or just firm tofu is fine ? Thanks
Hi, I'm a huge fan! Thank you for doing what you do. Question: Where can I find spur chilies? It's common in many Thai dishes but they are not easy to come by in the States. Please recommend an equivalent.
Korat Banchan You can do any other kinds of red, medium-to-mild chilies that you can find, or even red bell pepper would work.
