I just got a 89 vette the guy took the engine out and took it all apart and couldnt remember how to put it back together. He sold some parts and then I came along and offered him $2,000 and its almost done.! I have got the motor finished..New rings, bearings, injectors, and all the missing parts he sold and its back in the car..!! The smog pump was locked up and its bracket was broken so Im putting on one of those pump eliminator kits, Should be here in a couple of days. The L98 is a good platform to work off of. My buddies all wanted me to LS swap it but when I was looking at the block numbers they matched to VIN number so yeah. I had to go back with that engine. Thanks for all your uploads you have no idea how many different vids Ive looked at to glean just a tiny bit of info on how something should go on the vette ...

So you sandwich the egr block off plate between the manifold and the egr tube?
I was also thinking of removing the egr valve under the manifold, but leaving the vacuum line capped so the sensor sees resistance when energized.

If you want to keep the exhaust heat out of the manifold on an alloy head car, you plug it up out of the EGR tube from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold to look stock, put it all back and its good to go with no egr function or heat. If you dont care about stock, then cut/weld the manifold egr tube that goes to the intake closed and just eliminate it all. On an iron head L98 you can just unplug the vac hose to EGR.. BUT that does little to nothing and does NOT keep the exhaust heat out of the intake as the head crossovers are still active. L98 alloy heads do not have those like a "race car" head. You will have to pull intake and use block off intake gasket inserts on the crossover ports. They come with some fel pros and other brands. If your total "race car" your heads wont have exhaust crossovers anyway like the L98 alum heads do not, and you will be running headers. Just put the block off on EGR on the intake like a 70 camaro, etc... but if you total race car, you wont be running a stock TPI base anyway or even a TPI...

      It's not a sensor. It's a vacuum solenoid.

Do you need to keep the EGR valve when deleting the EGR and air pump?

If you dont care about stock look, no.... But you will have to put the EGR block off plate in its place .

Matt who does your PROM tuning?

Use hypertech on l98 and tune car around the chip. Air fuel by fmu fuel pressure, timing by detonation points… all old school

I have a 1978 Cadillac Seville and I believe the motor is seized I bought it if that condition and I don't know how to unseize the motor can you tell me the best route to go to see if this motor is good or not

Pull the motor out and go through it. Thats the only way to find out

That would literally take a book the size of bible to start with the possibilities. Sorry cant help on that one.

Have you dealt with your seized engine issue?
