- In this fishing video we go fishing with bluegill for some farm pond monsters! We ended up catching some big cat fish with our bluegill. This was a very exciting / fun day on the water since we don't ever cat fish much! Do you like the livebait videos? I agree. I only recently started using live Bluegills for bass, and every fish I've caught was hooked right in the corner of the mouth because I use a 2/0 circle hook.

Next time, try a HUGE 6/0 Octopus Circle Hook!! They’re my GO-tO for anything catfish! Plus, you don’t have to set the hook, just reel em’ in! 🎣💚

Yo Noah, I do this exact thing all the time at my neighborhood pond. Use circle hooks instead of J hooks, you will land every one.

Yo man I loved this video because I do a lot of catfishing around me and when u asked best way to hook cut bait. On the head piece hook it thru the bottom on the mouth through the nostril and the middle chunks hook in their spine rite under the dorsal fin and like someone else said if you use circle hooks you’ll have a lot more hookups

You can hold the catfish in the gills, will not hurt them, just have to be cautious of their side fins as the bone will break skin and hurt like crazy. If ever stuck, take slime from fish and rub over the puncture spot.

I caught my Flathead PB this year, coming in at 23.3 lbs. Caught it on a 6 ft Ugly Stik, 20 lb braid, cut bluegill

Loved the video but next time use circle Hooks and a little heavier braided line . I catch giant cats at Lake Thurmond with 150lb braid and have caught a few over 40lbs ! Good Luck and keep doing a few of these every now and then !

I see folks all the time spending money on worms to catch bluegill (pan fish), I use to be one of them. Y'all should try a slice of loaf bread. Just roll up a piece small enough to cover the tip of the hook and BAM!!! Try it, it works great. Money saver.

I Use a 8 0tt circle hook line 65 lbs pound powder pro braid with a 90 lbs 9 inch steel leader on my lew's super duty baitcaster and super duty rod extra heavy cought a 45 lbs flat head catfish

You should get a polarizing filter to put on the end of your lens. Ittl allow us to see the fish under water just like you can with your polarized sunglasses. I follow lots of fishing channels including yours and nobody uses them. It would be a game changer.
Use at least 6/0 (circle) hooks and you have to leave lots of hook exposed. Turtles may have gotten you on those early runs where you did not hook up. Nice vid
Use an 8-10/0 circle hook for cut bait and live for cats. And for future catfishing vids go after flatheads that would be sick

I have to be honest, I was very hesitant about chatterbaits and if they work. I am a believer. I went fishing the other day and caught a 2 1/2 pounder on a lipless, a 3 pounder on a squarebill and a 3 1/2 to 4 on a chatterbait. It also helps I got permission to fish at the cow pasture farm pond I fish at that rarely gets fished. CHATTERBAITS WORK!

Pro tip: Use a fly-fishing fly to catch glue gills.
If the guys are still in the bait I usually leave the hook point exsposed in the guts so if the head piece had guts in it I’d hook it sideways inside the guts if you know what I mean. I catfish a lot so it’s really hard to explain without showing 😂
