@1994toyotasupra majority of people shift before 3k rpm if they're daily driving. it's better for fuel economy. not hard to stay out of boost.
you'd be surprised what you can do tuning your own fuel maps. the CRZ still would have the eco/sport/normal buttons active, so anything is possible with proper tuning. Bisi is a genius. You really have to read more into what the Honda scene has done in order to understand.

@1994toyotasupra bisi is saying that most turbocharged cant have economy mode when you wanted it the most which on old turbo systems not possible. bisi has done his homework just to meet both ends-hp and economy. a feat of engineering that is relevant in this crucial times of our economy.
bisi again made innovative trends in sohc turbos. give bisi the credit dude.

There is no way in hell that thing will ever spool a turbo that big.
@pipoveyron you have a point there but things are getting clearer nowadays with turbo system. by 2013, F1 racing regulations will go back to the in-line, i.e. four banger, turbochargers. although its goodbye for the V's and W's good things might developed for better turbo system then.
@friday10s btw only the genisis 2.0 is turbo'd 260hp... i have 3.8 303hp non turbo bone stock

@pipoveyron well he did do a great job.. i just dont see it really making a difference in economy mode or not.. but maybe it does im not sure . i do understand having the idea of being able to have fun at the track then go to econ mode on the way home.. but i still thing this thing will suck gas up quite abit in either mode
The only thing is usually having a turbo charged car means you dont car about your fuel economy because when people have turbo cars they usual are flooring it all over the place.
@zerojett how could you stay out of boost ? i would imagine it spools maybe around 3-4k ? would you just drive under 3 k rpms so your not boosting ? either way those injectors are a large cc and their gonna be pumping out alot of gas even if you had a way to switch to a minimized fuel consumption your still sucking gas...
Bottom line.. if you have a built car like this .... you should have a daily driver for going to work school etc. and then a beast like this one for the fun.

@lasalleoaks hay i also have a nissan 240sx vette ls7 swap 555hp now that wouldn't be fair but my olds-cutlass would be a fair fight ...shit the honda probly weighs 2,300 the cutlass is still a road car quick but not that fast still runs mid 9's
2012 si should have had the same front or atleast an agressive front face like the cr-z... si sedans anyway

@friday10s well after i kept getting smoke i thought if u cant beat'm join'em so i sold my f20 (99 ek)coupe 426hp for $15,000 bought a cutlass sepreme put a crate 650hp engine in my truck now im blowing door of nsx's man

@pipoveyron whats noob about that lol almost everyone i know with a turbo ... they are flooring it everywhere ... and its almost like turbos just give people lead feet. also, turboing a car thats ment for fuel economy is kind of taking economy out of the picture .. more boost= more fuel.... plain and simple. I understand the concept of being original and turboing a car that isnt usually boosted. But honestly talking about economy on a high hp car is kinda dumb.

@friday10s my genisis stock 303hp vs 190 horse power civic its better have a f20 under the hood 2 touch me ive had burned b18 and b20 i used 2 be a honda guy but hell my chevy suburban k2500 454 320hp would destroy and civic or teg and prob run it over 2 lol

@Niche79 In the days of $3.00 or higher per gallon of gas, Hybrids will eventually be the majority. Honda is anything BUT dead. It sounds like they're just moving in a different direction than you would personally. No biggie...That's why there's more than one manufacturer. Where Honda loses a couple people customers...they pick them right back up with the Hybrid audience. It's a double edged sword my friend. Can't please everyone.
