I've read someone say that MONSTA X is kind of front runners for 4th genereation. If you know your kpop generations, you'll find a clear difference in sound and style from one generation to the other. The main sound of 3rd generation, which MONSTA X is part of debuting in 2015, is pop and lyrics are mostly about romantic relationship and break ups. There's a little about self love, mainly from BTS, which has also inspired 4th gen. But the kind of aggressiveness, more rock, high energy sound, that 4th gen has, is rare in 3rd gen. Only a few groups, like our MONSTA X and the disbanded group, B.A.P has this kind of sound, so yeaj, you could easily say that MONSTA X laid out some of the groundwork and inspiration for 4th gen and its big groups like STRAY KIDS and ATEEZ 😉 and it becomes even more obvious, with the fact that both STRAY KIDS and ATEEZ has members that are MONBEBE'S (MONSTA X fanboys) ☺️ MONSTA X may not be one of the most wellknown groups nationally or even internationally l, but they are known and highly respected by their peers and juniors in the kpop industry 😉😊
The most special thing is that Monsta X is actually continuing to grow in popularity, especially in Korea where they’ve had a huuuuge renaissance as a fanbase !! Right before enlistment, which Joohoney laughed about 💓😂 But all us monbebes are waiting patiently for them !! 🙏💗
