  • The flooring over the bins is complete, I take the stainless steel and aluminum scraps to the recycler and start converting the lighting to LEDs. I figured out how to attach wood slats to the thick aluminum cage and seal the interior of the outside lights.
It turns out there are 3 different types of bulbs used in the dome lights. Listed here are Amazon quick links to the bulb equivalents for LED conversion:
    Large round base bulb 1003/1009 : amzn.to/2nJ8E8l
    2 Prong bulb GH1/G6.35 : amzn.to/2vQDtMR
    Wedge Bulb 906/T10 : amzn.to/2MUNG1s

The project is getting much more fun now, no more demolition - time to create and build!

Looking good! $69.00 will buy several bulbs. SS usually is always higher than aluminum. Everything has it's different grades, however most don't want to mess with it. Still, it was better than stuffing it in a dumpster. Cheers!!

Funny you should say that. I just pulled an outside scene light and it is a proprietary bulb and plug only available from Weyland. They are 50 watts (H50SN12) and are $40.00 each! I am buying very bright flat panel LEDs and splicing/gluing them in. $2 each (have 4 fixtures).

    It's definitely worth recycling.

I'm glad the metal will be reused for some other purpose. The money was a plus.

Glad you are enjoying the videos. Hopefully you have checked out the conversion video I did on the Land Rover (and Prius). The ambulance is coming along well. I just insulated one wall and it was actually quite fun and surprisingly simple. Will be in the next video.

There are 4 flood lights on the outside. Each one has a proprietary 50 watt bulb and socket. Each bulb is $40! Only available from Weyland. I will be cutting the wire and fitting LED panels. I will show these crazy bulbs on an upcoming video. $160 to replace all 4, crazy!

You will really enjoy this vintage uk ambulance conversion “Bertie the ambulance” I think. Go to Justin Bozemans channel and look for the video Ambulance to RV sleeps Six. The numerous day and night possibilities with furniture may spark some ideas for you. You are a bad influence! If I dont buy a 2002 Roadtrek class B tomorrow I’ll head over to the auction to see a retired school bus van based on the Ford E350. Im not a big Ford fan but I have limited choices here. Similar to your Panorama van I believe. Times a wastin’! What is coming next on your build?

Yep - you got the build bug! I'll check out that video. I like the Roadtrek - could do some great things with that. If you can get one that you can stand fully upright in, you will enjoy it - and less hitting your head. Today I finished one 6' wall - insulation, slats and wall board. It was way easier that I thought it would be. I am very happy with how things are progressing now.

PriusStealthCamper Adventures well...what a difference a day makes! I bought the Roadtrek! 60,000 miles on her..she purrrs. Still a lot of govt hurdles to purchase..by Friday will know if its a go. She looks like new practically. I dont think you mess with a RT...their value is in factory original. Nice seller but some of my questions a bit too detailed for him...As soon as I saw he put Cooper HT3’s on her I knew we were headed in the right direction! Dashboard couldnt be more simple...no modern gizmos at all. No BT😱😱😱. There will be a learning curve here for sure! Once I have a better handle will ask RT engineers if they could put voltstart on her with solar and lithium. Next step will probably be to sell gas hog and go back to Prius. Looking for a white one pre-2015 redesign. If i need to tow vintage trailer can do with RT...apparently theres a tow hitch on front and back. Sounds like build is easier than demo?

PriusStealthCamper Adventures, have you seen this video? He may give you some ideas, not that you need any, you seem to have it all together. Pretty impresive.

I saw that - really liked it! That ambulance was purchased in excellent condition - a good find. I liked the water tank and shower setup. I am amazed he gets 15 mpg. I hope I can get at least 12. Thanks for the tip!
