All your videos are interesting and educational, thanks for your excellent job from Puerto Rico,
Thanks so much for watching Ramón!
Hola Amiguis! How are you all liking your heated floor, a year later? Have you used them often and do you have any estimates on power usage? We're considering this for a skoolie project we're currently working on and have found very little information about them. Thanks in advance!
Why not just run the wire under the Matt and not cut all those groves? Like the build!
Hi!! I'm curious about doing this! I'm just getting caught up with the electrical part of it. I have wired all my 12v appliances to a fuse block to a goal zero 1500x.
Just not sure about 120v?
First of all, thanks guys. You make me wanna build a new van! This is the first time I see this type of floor heating. I am super curious if it actually works and provides enough heat. How many amp hours of battery do you have on board to run this? I just checked specs and I think the 150 watts it uses is per square foot or square meter. So I am wondering how much this would drain the batteries over the course of a day. Please let me know and safe travels!
It actually does work! We have used it on a few cold mornings before we had our heater installed and it makes it way more comfortable to walk around in socks or barefoot, so we are glad to have it. We have a 500 amp hour battery bank. It is relatively low power but it does require running the inverter to run it, so if you run it all day it does take a toll. We like to use it for a little while on those cold mornings.
In the planning stages of a van build, how do you like the quiet warmth heated floors?
We like them! Not a necessity but we are happy we put them in. They are pretty nice to have on those really cold mornings.
@@britandmikeI have viewed this video so many times..... Your assessment of having a second sensor is brilliant...
You have a 120v film but there's a 12v-48v film available by mi-heat which also uses a thermostat
My concern is power efficiency... I plan 2 run heated floors 3 hours in the morning.. and 2 hours in the evening... The 12v heating film will consume 16 amps per hour.. total 80 amp hours no inverter..
I wanted to know...5 hours including inverter .. how many amps do you consume?
I really liked the film you used because its so much simpler to install... That underlayment is a plus to increase insulation too... The 12v heating recommends not using any
Thank you and binging on your Baja videos right now
I just bought this setup as well but didn’t realize it won’t work without the inverter on. I guess that’s your plan too??
Hey guys saw you liked my other comments but hoping to get a reply here! Seems like the inverter has to be on yeah?
Yeah we had the same thought, we haven’t set up the inverter yet but think we can turn it on/off with an app so it shouldn’t be too inconvenient!
@@britandmike Okay yeah, just a bit extra power consumption but I’m sure it will be on more often than I think and consume less power than I think. Gotta make morning coffee and night time I’ll be gaming.
@@alpinebro619please can you tell us if you recommend this floor heating.. my concern is efficiency..
There's another floor heating solution that can run on 12v....
I am trying to decide which way to go..
