  • Warning! Warning! Extreme safety hazard!
I mean, we all know this scooter is half the price of the competition, but we wondered how that translated into craftsmanship. Well, this is how!

    Hi,
Yes, this nut should be checked. The best would be for the nut to be tightened with the red lever open and the closing having to be done with gentle help of a foot (no kicking).
Be aware of the top adjuster as well and always check if wheel is pointing ahead.
Another safety feature should be switching your body position. Body forward when accelerating; body to the back when braking.

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  Před 4 lety +1

Very true. You can counter the inertia of stopping and starting by leaning forward and back and put less stress on the stem of the scooter, and this bolt.

Hey man thank you so much for your videos, got me a Yume D5 without doing any research and I've noticed the same potential life-threatening hazards caused by the same loose mechanisms, with that said...
I tightened that nut with a 7/16" nut driver and it's locked in, but do you think the scooter could remain foldable by carrying the nut driver around 😋 and tightening and loosening the nut as necessary? Would you risk it if you wanted to make it more portable for commuting? 🤔 I'm too stubborn to return it, if it lasts more than a year I'll be thrilled, and I really love the way it rides 🥰

This part was loose on my scooter as well what I did to fix the problem permanently was to tighten it to the desired tightness so there was no slap in the handlebars then do you want to put Another nut on it to use as a jam not as the thread locker if they use is not very good this will keep it from having the slop in the folding mechanism. Plus you should check your head tube bearing slack adjusters as well as they can come loose overtime.

      It's been a lot of fun !!
My inner tube blew out really quick and I had to order a new one ! If that happens to you, make sure you remove any metal burs inside the wheel mechanism where the inner tube meets metal ! I haven't had a problem since. I had to modify my head lamp too. The mounting bracket for the head lamp is weak and can't handle bumpy conditions and will eventually break !
I tightened the spring tension too ! My scooter rides pretty high off the ground. I take it on single tracks and some pretty rough terrain ! It handles it great ! I want to make a video of some of the trails I do. I have a video on my channel of a single track ride, but it wasn't anything crazy. I was just trying it out ! Night riding single track in the hills is a total thrill ! Nanrobot did a pretty good job on this ! SO FAR !!

Always noticed that wiggle and thought that's how it was supposed to be because of the folding mechanism. Logically? It's supposed to be somewhat loose for easier folding but not that loose. I tested it out after tightening It, it takes a little more force to pull & push the red lever to get folding started but not that much. Thanks for the video man.

Great video. Thank you for the tip! Now I'd like to ask two questions. First one is if you have a video of how to use the right settings for this scooter.... I have it for a long time but one day day I wasc messing up with the settings and the scooter just stopped and I couldn't make it move. So I tried again playing with the controls and finally it's rolling again. But now it just run very slow and I can't figure out how to reset it to get the original settings. The second question is if you have a video to replace the break line.
    Thank you in advance.

Ok im a ginger on a scooter too. But i have to share info on Roadrunner ls unsafe scooters. Within 3 weeks of buying their RS5+ their flagship scooter, the front brakes no longer work and the small safety lock pin on the stem has gnarled uo the stem hole that it locks into so baf it no longer works. No one wants to buy a new car to take it home to work on. And zero help from Roadrunner. So just want to share my experience with Roadrunner scooters bad customer service and now selling it for a 25% loss since i can not even ride it anymore. Pretty sad company if they dont even back it up.

It's a bit of a give and take. The tighter it is, the harder your folding mechanism will be to operate. But, the more secure your bars will be Make sure you tighten that bolt when the scooter is assembled, not folded. And only tighten it if it's loose.

There's also some play that is fixed by tightening the handlebar stem (get it aligned with the wheel first) and also the folding grips have a screw that adjusts the play on these. These screws should have thread lock so they undo themselves or the other way around.
