Answering questions/comments:
1) voldy didnt break Lucious' wand. Lucious had an obnoxious decorative piece added on top and voldy snapped it off
2) the irony at 11:37 that voldy had taken over the ministry and was the reason that statue was there, and all the propaganda.
3) the death eaters broke through the weasley house and tent, dementors were stopped by the elevator door
4) harry being with Ron and Hermione wasnt a give away to the adults because to them, Hermione is a "mudblood" and Ron is a "blood traitor" so they're not worth their time to known enough to recognise. The only person who would recognise them is Draco, but he refuses to identify them
Bill Weasly is the oldest Weasly kid, a curse breaker for Gringotts bank. He was there fighting death eaters as part of the Order of the Pheonix the night Dumbledore was killed. He was attacked by the werewolf Frenrik Greyback that night, but it wasn't a full moon so he was just left scarred. He's also married to Flur Delacour, the girl from the Tri-Wizard tournament.
Its described alot more in the books but...
The ministry interrogation scene: Voldemort and his followers believe that magic can only be true through blood, therefore muggleborns can only get their magic through stealing it from a "rightful wizard".
He set up a "muggle-born registry" which labelled every witch and wizard that were muggle-born and would bring them in for "questioning". The interrogation would consist of asking them who they stole the wand and magic from, and regardless of what was said, the wand would be confiscated and the person imprisoned.
The snatches were people who would prowl around looking for people hiding who are on the muggle-born registry, and then take them by force to the ministry for imprisonment in exchange for money.
In the books Bellatrix is much more terrifying. She’s arrogant, argumentative, much more explosive, tortures teenagers very happily, and very, very kill happy. HBC does a great job, but they really played up her insanity much more than in the books. Also: hello fellow Slytherin. What a great House it is.

The scene of Harry and Hermione dancing couldn't be less romantic if they tried. It was just a sweet moment of Harry trying to obviously cheer Hermione up who's upset about Ron leaving. I've seen many other reactors recognise it as not being a romantic scene, they're just best friends at this point.
I definitely thought it was a potentially romantic moment and can think of many ways it could be LESS romantic lol. I don’t think it means they feel romantic about each other, just that, yes, they were dancing as friends, but maybe for a moment they wondered if there was something between them. Especially during such a difficult time. But there wasn’t.
I saw an interview where Emma says it _was_ meant to be romantic, something about that period in a friendship with the opposite sex when you're not sure if it's friendship or something more. To clarify for anyone reading this comment who hasn't read the books, there was never any romantic tension between Harry and Hermione in the books.

If you're considering doing the "What if Harry was in Slytherin" series then I feel like the "Dumbledore's Secret Plan" series would be VERY appropriate for you, hah. Shows how manipulative he was throughout the books and movies.

The plan was to take down Voldemort "for the greater good". Once the prophecy was made it was obviously either Harry or Voldy. As Voldy wanted world domination wiping out muggle born from the magical community and subjugatng muggles in general Harry was the better option for the magical world.
What other choice did he have? Let Voldemort have his way?
Also he assumed that Voldemort killing Harry Potter would not kill Harry since Voldemort had used Harry's blood to revive himself.

It didn't seem as slow in the book. Of course the book wasn't cut into 2 parts. Harry also knew a lot more in the book thanks to conversations with Dumbledore in the 6th book that weren't in that movie.
Kreacher has a redemption arc in the books. He is a product of the family he served.
The death eaters and voldy are like the magical version of Nazis so I'm a little concerned you're so into them, but I don't think the films really stress enough the nature of their regime for much of the films. The statue at the ministry is changed because Voldemort is in charge at the ministry, for example.

I'll never forgive them for cutting Dumbledore's backstory out of this movie just to replace it with DEAD SPACE. Here's what you'd know by now: Albus was the oldest child of three, followed by middle brother Aberforth and younger sister Ariana. Ariana was kept out of sight from a very young age starting from when their father Percival killed a few trespassing muggles (as that one lady mentioned). The popular rumor was that she was a squib, a wizard-born person with no capacity for magic, and that the Dumbledore family was ashamed of her. I forget the timing, but at some point their mother Kendra died under mysterious circumstances. After Albus graduated from Hogwarts, he established a relationship with Gellert Grindelwald - whom most people would know as the reigning dark wizard threat before Voldemort. This caused growing tensions between Albus and Aberforth which culminated in a three-way fight and the death of Ariana. Rita Skeeter's book speculates that Albus and Grindelwald killed Ariana as part of an evil plan "for the greater good."

I think you will like the musical trilogy (A Very Potter Musical, A Very Potter Sequel, and A Very Potter Senior Year) because of how the characters are depicted. They are funny and you kind of empathize more with some of the Slytherins (Draco and Voldemort). Harry is kind of an angsty jerk a lot of the time and it just feels different yet interesting. If you do them, you may want captions on as the audio is not great at times (which you tend to do anyway, you sly Slytherin you) and know that the third one was done at LeakyCon with little prep so the performers have scripts because they didn't have time to memorize everything. That said, they are totally awesome and I think you will enjoy them.

Dumbledores father killed them cuz his sister couldn’t handle her magic well and they saw her doin some mahic and when she was alone they attacked her and he went after them the next series explain what was wrong with her and how dangerous wizards like her were. That incident ended up driving her mad which ended with both the sister and mother dying

The fact that Harry's and Voldemort's wands are "twins" just means they share the same core. Meaning, the two wands have a phoenix feather inside, and it happens to be from the same phoenix. This makes the wands "connected". So, the thing is, when 2 wands share the same core, they are called "twin wands". Its not like wands have families or something like that.
Wands can have other kinds of cores too, its not only phoenix feathers, theres also wands with unicorn hair inside, for example, like the one Draco has, or wands with dragon heartstring inside, like Lucius malfoy's wand.
I still want an extensive, George R.R-esque family tree of wands lol

First of all, in the book those muggles were only attacked by Dumbledore's father, Percival. He did not do it willy-nilly either. The muggles saw his 6-year-old daughter doing magic and they assaulted her. Quite understandably, Percival lost it and attacked them then he went to Azkaban for it. He wasn't a pureblood supremacist. While his blood status is speculated to be either pureblood or half-blood, his wife, Kendra was definitely a muggleborn.

The random brother bill isnt so random in the books:
book 1: they are both mentioned (they even write a letter to charlie)
Book 2: they are mentioned
Book 3: they are mentioned and shown in newpapers
Book 4: they are both present and quite large characters- they help fight off the death eaters at the quiddich world cup (with percy) and they visit harry in the final parts
Book 5: cant remember where but they are mentioned
Book 6: same ^
Book 7: they are in the battle for hogwarts and help the order in their undercover missions
Its sad to see that they werent done much justice. Along with percy- who is in alk the books and has the only scene in hp that makes me cry
Also a note that bills face is scarred from fighting off the same werewolf that bit lupin as a child and made him a werewolf.
Well about the points in the first movie. It wasn't quite right to do it AFTER points were announced, but in general it wasnt wrong. Kids get points for everything they do right, from helping someone in need to answering questions right. There wasnt a single student out of any other house than Gryffindor that would notice something wrong going on OR be good enough to pass these tests. Ron literally beats an enchantment of Chess made by McGonagall, Hermione solves a puzzle made by Snape, Harry goes through flying obstacle, not to mention all the shit they went through together. Defenses that were meant to stop adults, not 11 y.o. kids. They did deserve these points through blood and tears. Also it kinda compensates for the points they lost while investigating all that and pissing off all other Gryffindor students.
Crab, Goyle and Draco could have done it too 😤🐍😅

@@AdamfromFWCI The dog was there, Hagrid was there to talk to (and he basically gave out most of the info), Hermione's knowledge came from regular books and lessons, Snape's wound didn't magically appear only near Gryffindor students. What's that about 5 extra minutes? Even the idea that dog was guarding smth worth stealing was deducted by Hermione just by observing the room. Did they stumble upon some situations by "sheer dumb luck"? yes, that's the idea of the plot movement in books for children. But any student had opportunity to do so. Even stairways in the castle, they move in patterns, highly unlikely that The trio was the only ones to accidently get to that floor.
Don't forget The Fantastic Beasts series.
The scene with Harry and Hermoine was not romantic, just two friends trying to comfort each other, probably more on the Harry comforting Hermoine side.

It’s funny people didn’t like the slower parts since those were my favorite parts lol. I liked the atmosphere and scenery. Was nice for it to breathe a bit for once.
Of course I had assumed they split the movie into two because of all the things that happen in the final book, but they opted not to include a lot of things and instead have this slower paced movie (which I liked! but not necessarily necessary?) and then the packed with action movie (which viewers probably liked more, and maybe I would if I watched it all again now; but I thought they should have just included other plot and character developments heh).
Hermione erased herself for her parents sake, they like the Dursleys had to leave or possibly be killed or tortured by deatheaters

I love the scene where Kreature brings Mundungus to Harry in the books. Kreature just keeps hitting him with a frying pan and it's the funniest thing ever. And he becomes devoted to Harry. In the book, when they leave for the ministry they intend to come back and Kreature says he'll have dinner ready when they come back. I was honestly sad when they couldn't go back.
here is my what if for harry potter that ive thought about for years. what if harry potter wasn't the chosen one? the prophecy you come across in the order of the phoenix movie, (this will mostly be info off of the books i read a while ago so correct me if i am wrong) it says that the person to vanquish the dark lord would be a boy born at the end of july. Now, two boys in this movie are born at the end of july that year. Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom. These two are technically the chosen ones in my eyes. Except in Harry's case, he only survived because of the protection of his mother's love when she gave her life for his. Neville's parents wouldn't be able to do that for him. I can't say for sure that boy would die, but the prophecy is a prophecy for a reason right? Maybe if Voldemort went to Neville Longbottom's house that night instead of Harry's, Neville would be the chosen one. Now, I'm aware Neville's parents stay in hospital due to being driven to insanity by the Cruciatus curse performed by Bellatrix Lestrange, and that 'their love wouldn't protect Neville like Lily's did Harry'. But would it not have? Surely giving your life to a cause, and giving your life to your son are parallel? Neville's parents suffered torture to make sure Voldemort never won, maybe this is why Neville is the chosen one. He's the son of two extremely brave and selfless wizards who gave their sane minds to stop Voldemort. Neville never dies in the movies, but who's to say if someone shot a killing curse at him, he wouldn't survive? He pulls Godrick Gryffindor's sword from the hat in the second movie. Only one other person does that; Harry. Both could have won just the same. I say Neville is just as protected as Harry is. But Neville's parents are much better than stupid bullying and harrassing James. I say Snape has great respect for Neville's parents, unlike Harry's and would have helped him out more from the beginning. Although Neville strives in Herbology, and Harry strives in Defense Against The Dark Arts. (I'm not entirely sure if Harry is best at it solely because of everything he has faced, which is most likely, and in this case Neville would be good at it too) And the two have different personalities. I wouldn't doubt they would have different strategies against everything to go against throughout all the movies. Neville helps Harry win a Triwizard Tournament, maybe Neville and herbology would have been a strange but effective way to go against Voldemort.

I do agree that this is definitely the most boring of all the movies, but it does do an incredible job of setting up major plot points for the last one. One detail that many people probably miss is that when Umbridge is interrogating people, she has conjured a patronus to keep the dementors from getting to her. The thing is to conjure a patronus and sustain it like that you need to focus on something that makes you truly happy. This means that most likely interrogating these people is bringing her enough joy that she can sustain her patronus, which honestly just makes her more terrifying.

Yes, this film need to have a slower pace. This looking for horcruxes is a bit like Frodo and Sam wandering towards Mordor.
They are completely isolated, they have no food (the one thing you can't conjure out of thin air) Don't wanna think of lacking loo and toilet paper for almost a year... They must fave been freezing a lot, and one of them at a time wore the locket- and had to endure fear and despair until it was time to let the next one wear it.
They weren't that well groomed in the book either.When Harry saw his reflection in the Malfoy Mansion his hair was reaching his shoulders.
I reckon the "Harry dancing with Hermione" was a bro trying to cheer up his heartbroken sis just a little.

Voldemort didn't "break" or "snap" Lucius' wand, he just removed the holder it had on it, like a handle. Snapping a wand would render it useless.

Voldemort could never have killed Harry as a baby because the prophecy was in play. Now what if the prophecy had never been spoken? Well, Voldemort would have still blasted himself because Lily. Might have still transferred some of his powers.
I think a better question for a what if, what if Snape had been able to handle rejection better and never become a Death Eater? Or what if Harry had been put in Slytherin (he'd be dead, it'd just be a matter of how.)
He didn't snap Lucius wand. He broke the fru fru ornamentation that Lucius had made around it so it would fit in his cane. That was the wand Voldemort used when Hagrid was on the motorcycle.

Dobbie was sooooo annoying in chamber of secrets, even much more in the book. so i was not in the least bit sad when he bit the dust to be honest.
They decided to take turns wearing the locket around their necks for safekeeping. That way even if Hermione's bag is stolen or gets lost, they have the most important thing on their person. Pretty self explanatory.
