    I am midly concerned about your servo, seems the torque need to travel a long distance on one end. Might be better off to just steer the front wheels as I suspect the rear wheels might struggle when turning under load.
    The lift axle is a nice surprise.

    • @haflingerfan5800
      @haflingerfan5800 Před 2 lety +6

      The steering of the rear axle showed no problems. There‘s a lot of backlash due to the long axle and the cv joints and cardans but the torque is enough. The turning radius is also way better with a rear steering axle and the tires would need to slip on the ground sideways a lot without it. Also, there‘s no lift axle..

    • @mugglepower

      @@haflingerfan5800 hmm I swear to god I saw in some point of the vid one of the axles are tucked into the body. Maybe the machine god just played a little trick on my mind. Thanks! There‘s nowhere enough room to fit diff locks in there in this scale but you can replace the differentials with simply two gears or lock them by replacing the gears inside with some pieces and it should have a lot of traction with its 8 wheels. The limiting factor is still the grip of th lego tires but they’re actually not that bad

      @@vmened I don't think that the color sensors can measure from where the light is coming. The infrared sensor can do that, if there's a remote in the booster with the beacon on, then it can be tracked. One sensor for vertical angle, maybe one for horizontal and then the arms move up and down according to that. Only need to work out when to close them to catch the booster. Added to my EV3 ideas list : ) I think I'll only build kind of a skeleton for starship and superheavy and wrap them with paper so I don't need thousands of pieces for that.

      The link to the instructions on rebrickable is in the description, one for the truck and one for the trailer. You will also find part lists there.

      @stinkwellexhaustcreations  Před 2 lety

      They're pretty similar to normal Lego instructions with maybe one more piece per step or so, so I wouldn't say they're difficult

    • @haflingerfan5800
      @haflingerfan5800 Před 2 lety

      Yeah, at this point most lego sets are just some mostly useful pieces put together and thrown in a box...
