In Czech republic they have a rhyme "Tatra nezná bratra" which can be loosely translated to "Tatra is friends with nobody", referring of course to it's unparalleled offroading capabilities. And I think you captured that perfectly.

I guess instead of a typical ladder frame, they utilize a backbone "tube" that has all the driveshaft parts, brake and electrical encapsulated and out of harms way.

Very nicely detailed model. This reminds me of the US ARMY's HEMTT heavy transport. If Lego offered this model it could very easily be a UCS Technic set for the year. Unfortunately, Lego will never build this because it's considered a weapon or machine of war. That's why they canceled the Osprey 42113. Here's the thing, they put blasters on the star wars sets, machine guns on the batman sets, etc... Lego is very selective in that regard. Doesn't make sense.
you have built something incredible, and I am surprised that there are only 253 different pieces!!!! also when you see the inventory of the parts this message appears... There are problems with the Inventory that might make it un-buildable: 1 Color Error(s) - parts in colors that have not appeared in real Sets (eg 3705/Light Bluish Gray)
Ano, je to paradny model. O niecom podobnom premyslam uz velmi dlho, no nie som schopny urobit realisticky pohon s jednym hriadelom. Bez diferencialov je to realizovatelne iba na malom modeli.
it's really sad lego still can't create a proper hub having less offset for steering. just a pain in the ass. i could also imagine to use small air cylinders instead of levers for suspension, like on the actual truck. the cylinders would have to be prepared for less break-in force and friction, though. great model!
