It's a beautiful place. It's a great escape from the desert heat. The air might be thinner but it smells so good with those pines. I've shopped at the General Store. The fudge is awesome. Summerhaven is always on our list when we visit Tucson. Thanks for sharing!

I love it up there! I drive there every other day in the summer! Cooler and just beautiful! I also go off roading on the control road on the back road of the mountain. In the winter I love the snow up there!👌😎👍👉♥️

My parents had a cabin up there above the Cookies N Cabins. It snowed every Christmas and my favorite thing to do was relax, watch movies and go for walks or light hikes. I spent some days up there by myself during reconstruction of the road and they’d often close the road up. I’d take advantage of the solitude and have fun driving around the snow and black ice. I’d also wake up and find bear tracks in the snow the following morning or see deer nearby. This was 20 years ago and it’s definitely nice seeing Summerhaven grow in local amenities and attractions. However, for me nothing beats hearing the wind whistling in between all of the pine trees.

Well they got good fudge. You can get a pizza slightly better than frozen & a big cookie. Thers a ski lodge with restrant. They picnic tables & hicking trails. But here's the problem it's small & on a crowded day you won't find a parking space! It's an hour drive to get to Catalina highway & another hour to get to summerhaven. That cookie cabin is crowded because it's the only joint in town! Pro tip blow off summerhaven, bring a picnic lunch & use the picnic tables! You might get someting out of the fee to go up the mountain, it's on forest service land!
They have a few fun restaurants up on Summerhaven, including Beyond Bread which just opened! 😋 The cookie cabin has always been a tradition for my family to visit each time we’re up there… that being said, I love a good picnic on Mount Lemmon! There are lots of great picnic tables up there! Very relaxing to eat up on the mountain ☺️
Moved to the area in May, drove up MT Lemmon last weekend. It was beautiful day, U of A has an app. The made the drive even better!! The line was long at the cookie cabin, definitely need one in my life, another great show and so much info…. Once again thank you K !!!
