  • OVERLANDING A F250 IN AUSTRALIA FOR 3 YEARS ? In depth review of my Converted RHD F250.
    Buying my F250 back in late 2017 it was a big deal, being so far away with no inspection on the truck I took the gamble.
    Owning a 2012 Ford Ranger px1 before the ftruck I knew I was in for a big change in every aspect going to a bigger truck.
    Over the next 3 years I would slowly build the vehicle up to the point it’s at now.
    During that time I used the vehicle for hauling heavy, the commute to and from work plus camping and 4WDing, with 120000ks on the vehicle is has been an extremely good vehicle besides from the conversion issues mentioned in the video.
    If you’re looking for a Ford conversion in Australia make sure you use a good company like VDC.

    Light weight yet extremely durable tray and canopy system ticks all the boxes in touring /overlanding. There's enough spaces to store all the essentials for both the man and the beast. Many Americans only dreams about having one, but they don't wanna admit😃😃.. Most of their bed reck setup has zero proof from water, dust (all kinds of elements) and all the way down to some guys with a long sticky fingers in some random parking lots😃

    Great review. My 2013 F250 from Harrison F-Trucks (VDC Converted) was great. So good that I bought a 2018 from them. Awesome service and support from them (and I'm in NSW). PS. My blend motor played up in my 2013 too (same broken plastic part). Easy fix though. Cheers.

    Paying $275 for the truck & another $80 ( canopy ) grand to get everything perfect you expect never to have a problem for 10 years but we all know that’s only a dream.

    That rig is bad-ass! The rear box on that rig is awesome and you have that really well set-up. A little weird to see an F250 diesel with the steering wheel on the right. Didn’t even know they made them. I have a 2002 F250 with the 7.3 turbo diesel and I have never had a serious problem. Just the usual stuff that costs about $200 US and I work on myself as well. Just be pro-active with your service (just like any car) and you’ll get 500,000 plus miles (805,000 km) out of that motor. Great video and I just subscribed! Australia F250 for the win!!

      @@TyFenwick I'm not sure if you've done it yet but I HIGHLY suggest you purchase an aftermarket cold side pipe asap! Or go with both hot and cold as a kit. The plastic cold side pipes crack right around 100k miles. Mine just did, like clockwork at 100k. If it breaks, you'll lose all boost pressure and you might not make it back home if out on the trail. On the highway, you can travel back off boost.

    Check out Carli suspension on the next Super Duty. They make incredible suspension for these trucks set you up with King shocks specifically valved and Deaver leafs for your weight and use case. They are far advanced from an off the shelf lift kit.

  • @scottwilson4465
    @scottwilson4465 Před 3 lety +3

    They are certainly good reliable trucks - one thing I would suggest is to get yourself a spare EGT sensor; 13mm flare nut wrench and an OBD code reader (which you may already have). We had a faulty sensor which basically brought the car to a dead stop (no limp mode) - dangerous if you're on a freeway or such. Just some good spares to carry if you're heading out bush. Cheers.

    My '99 F250 had a bad hop when pulling my empty trailer (10K rated, 2500# empty weight). The problem was that my rear overloads, while not touching, ran very close to touching and would give the back end a flip. I bought taller overload bumpers that fixed the issue.
