    I was born in 1998 and I’m telling you my whole childhood, even as a Seattle fan and now okc remembers kobe dominating the era...every game making crazy shot after shot. Like it’s hard to explain because stats don’t tell the whole story of how he would just take over games in the 4th and will his team. I don’t disagree with it but I was definitely shocked when I heard how much lebron was put over kobe. I think people just kind of forget how dominate he really was. And I hated kobe at the time because of how good he was. Please don’t give me hate as it’s just my opinions and I’m not using any stats but just using what I saw him do.

    Everyone is interpreting this all wrong. His point is that LeBron's teamates don't have clear roles on the team. All throughout the games each player is expected to just adjust their style of play to fit whatever LeBron is trying to do.
    Kobe is saying LeBron needs to pick a role and fill it. Either be the Point Guard and have the team design the offense to have someone else be the primary scorer or be the scorer and let the PG be the primary facilitator.
    Kobe was a Scorer and a Defender. A coach can design a gameplan around that.

Let your guards bring it up and initiate the offense. How do you say you need help when you won't allow your help to help you? - He's attacked precisely because he's too aggressive. Russell is playing at 100 MPH while his teammates are at 60 MPH. He needs to learn when to be passive and when to be aggressive. Jacking up 12 / 35 shots is reckless and selfish. 23 of those attempts could have been converted into points not to mention it kills the team's chemistry and momentum when he tries to pull up from 3 and tries to imitate curry.

      Btw, what about Shaq then? He's the reason Kobe has 5 rings, instead of just 2.. Shaq was the best player on that Lakers team during that 3 championship run, but nobody mentions him. Why? That's quite disrespectful

    • @johnnytomahawk
      @johnnytomahawk Před 6 lety

      Kobe wasn't even the greatest player of his generation in the NBA, let alone one of the all-time greatest. Kobe is a guy who rode Shaq's coattails, failed to make the playoffs as the top dog, rode Gasol and Bynum for a few seasons, and finished his career playing for the worst team in the Western Conference. Never seen any other "all-time great" have such a unimpressive resume for consideration.
      Actually, Kobe wasn't even the best Laker when he played; that honor belongs to Shaq. Kobe was his brand. The NBA built that brand up for business. Kobe as an Top 5 player is a meme to sell jerseys and sneakers.
      Come at me Kobe knob slobberers.

    How tf is Kobe not better than Bird he can score the ball better than bird, he can pass the ball better, he plays the post better, he can play defense better, he is WAY more athletic than bird, he hit more game winners, he even has more assists total, he scored 81 points in a dam NBA game, he won 5 rings vs Birds 3 rings. Kobe made it to the playoffs more than bird he won in the playoffs more than bird. The only thing bird did better than Kobe was rebounding which is due to his position and win 2 more MVP's than Kobe but we all know Kobe deserves more MVP's because Kobe got way more All-NBA team selection than Bird. It's a well known fact Kobe is a better 1v1 player than bird and a better basketball player too. Kobe played physical too in his career because he was a lock down defender for a good 13-14 years of his career. Bird didn't even make one all NBA first team defense even with his size. I have seen Kobe play all 3 positions, I have even seen Kobe shoot with his left hand the whole game and put up great numbers doing so. I have seen Kobe drop 40 pts back to back to back with broken fingers in his shooting hand, he has even played through a false rape allegation which could have destroyed a player's reputation but Kobe fought through all of that and now y'all saying he isn't better than bird or Magic give me a break. Kobe had the dedication and the work ethic and the championships to be considered one of the best's to ever play the game of basketball.

    This post is for all the 3-6 Mafia members aka Bronsexuals coming to the comment section saying Shaq carried Kobe just cause Kobe criticized Lebron once.
    Okay, let's get this straight with facts. Shaq truly carried Kobe and the Lakers only ONCE through the postseason.
    First Championship Run (2000):
    Shaq lead scoring 16 times
    Kobe lead scoring 6 times
    First Round (Pts/Trb/Ast):
    Shaq: 29.4/17.4/2.8
    Kobe: 27.8/4.4/3.6
    Second Round:
    Shaq: 30.2/16.2/2.6
    Kobe: 21/3.8/3.4
    Third Round:
    Shaq: 25.9/12.4/4.3
    Kobe: 20.4/4.9/5.9
    Finals:
    Shaq: 38/16.7/2.3
    Kobe: 15.6/4.6/4.2
    Second Championship Run (2001):
    Shaq lead scoring 8 times
    Kobe lead scoring 8 times
    First Round:
    Shaq: 27/15.7/2.7
    Kobe: 25/4.3/7.7
    Second Round:
    Shaq: 33.3/17.3/2.3
    Kobe: 35/9/4.3
    Third Round:
    Shaq: 27/13/2.5
    Kobe: 33.3/7/7
    Finals:
    Shaq: 33/15.8/4.3
    Kobe: 24.6/7.8/5.3
    Third Championship Run (2002):
    Shaq lead scoring 8 times
    Kobe lead scoring 9 times
    First Round:
    Shaq: 25.7/11.3/4
    Kobe: 26/5.7/5
    Second Round:
    Shaq: 21.4/12.2/3.2
    Kobe: 26.2/5.4/4.8
    Third Round:
    Shaq: 30.3/13.6/1.6
    Kobe: 27.7/6.3/3.9
    Finals:
    Shaq: 36.3/12.3/3.8
    Kobe: 26.8/5.8/5.3
    Conclusion on the 3peat:
    The first championship run, the most prime time Shaq ever had, carried Kobe and the Lakers all the way to the finals, but the second and third, Kobe had major contributions that enabled him to "lead" Shaq and the Lakers to the finals. But when Shaq faced weak competition, they let the offense still flow through Shaq as he is number 1. Kobe having those stats was no sidekick material, and stars in this era barely average like that, and no 21-23 yr old NBA player has done it like Kobe did while playing in the more physical league with not-so-friendly rules. Over the course of the playoffs, Kobe locked down the best perimeter players, the best options on the opposing team's scoring end such as Allen Iverson, Jason Kidd, Reggie Miller, Mark Jackson, and etc. Although he wouldn’t guard them ALL the time, but he still locked them down when the team needs it.
    Fourth Run (2003, lost to eventual champion Spurs in the 2nd round):
    First Round:
    Shaq: 28.7/15.3/3.7
    Kobe: 31.8/5.2/6.7
    Second Round:
    Shaq: 25.3/14.3/3.7
    Kobe: 32.3/5/3.7
    Fifth Championship Run (2004, lost to Pistons in the finals):
    First Round:
    Shaq: 16.2/11.2/3.6
    Kobe: 24.4/5.6/6.2
    Second Round:
    Shaq: 22.5/14.5/2
    Kobe: 26.3/6.3/5.8
    Third Round:
    Shaq: 20.7/15.7/2.8
    Kobe: 24.3/4/5.5
    Finals:
    Shaq: 26.6/10.8/1.6
    Kobe: 22.6/2.8/4.4
    Conclusion after 3peat:
    If you looked at Shaq’s match ups, his numbers decreased when went up against elite big men like prime Tim Duncan, Yao Ming, and etc. while only dominating weak competition. Kobe went through tougher competition his whole playoff career like good defensive stoppers in young Raja Bell, Bruce Bowen, old Reggie Miller, old Gary Payton, and lot of "Kobe stoppers", etc. That’s why you see Shaq’s numbers explode through the roof when he gets to the finals and plays against a very very weak eastern conference teams (except Detroit, whos players were able to stop him).
    Kobe managed to even save Shaq in 2000 when Shaq was clearly the better player.
    2000 WCF Game 7:
    Kobe led team in points (25), rebs (11), assist (7), and blocks (4) and back to back clutch shot + assist to Shaq + lockdown defense. Shaq had 18 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 block. Shaq provided less than Kobe in a game 7 against a stacked western team = Portland with young Rasheed, Smith and, Pippen.
    Shaq led the whole Lakers team in turnovers. So as to what I'm saying a lot of times, without Kobe, Shaq is a walking turnover machine and prone to fouling out.
    Kobe during 2000 Finals vs Pacers:
    Helped lockdown Reggie Miller while providing good stats in Game 1;
    Injured by Jalen Rose in Game 2;
    Did not play Game 3;
    Saved Game 4 during the 4th quarter and OT with Shaq fouled out and him still recovering from the injury;
    All Lakers are crap in Game 5;
    And even with poor 26 points on 27% FG in Game 6, still managed to drop 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks, playing as a SHOOTING GUARD.
    Conclusion to all:
    Kobe EARNED all 5 rings and was the best contributor, meaning the underrated true "leader", for 3-4 of the championships, with the first 3 as the number 2 option in the offense and "sidekick" to the number 1 option Shaq. He was their best "all-around" player that can shoot and guard and also led the team in steals per game average. He also led the team in playoff win shares EVER. Kobe knew his role but maximized who he can be and played 150% almost every game, that's why he got those rings.

    So in other words, 5 time champion and Hall of famer Kobe shouldn't have anything to say about 3-6 LeBron James? This is what's wrong with the sport of basketball now. No one should be above criticism. Especially from legendary ballers. You think Kobe was the only one who was ever hard on their teammates??? LeBron's game depends on him being the person he is. But he definitely did not trust and support his team in this finals. He looked frustrated every game and forced up dozens of shots after driving the ball full court with no passes. And when he did pass, it was out of a double team. He's always looking for the assist and not the best play. I've never heard him say anything about critiques from other players, only from people in the media who don't know the game of basketball. If LeBron is trying to be better than Jordan, why not take advice from Phil Jackson who molded him and Kobe who studied him?

    Kobe is 110% on this. I've said it a million times, LeBron may get his team involved but he doesn't really know how to use his team to its fullest extent. Jordan had the same issue early on, he tried to do everything on his own but once he started getting a decent cast around him (and yes LeBron has a very talented cast) he fell more into his role as an elite scorer and defender and let guys like Rodman and Grant handle the boards, let guys like Pippen facilitate, let guys like Harper run the point, etc.
    Truthfully, LeBron isn't nearly as good of a teammate as he's let out to be. People like playing with him because they don't have to do as much, but that in itself inlies the problem. If LeBron held Love to his same standard as his T-Wolves days then he would probably averaging 25/12, Wade and Rose could've given him 15 points each off the bench, Crowder and Jeff Green could've given at least 10/5/6 each on a regular basis. I'm guessing a team like that would've been just fine in the finals. His team doesn't perform as well as they could be LeBron doesn't make them accountable to do so, he just gets all passive-aggressive pissy like a kid instead.

If anything Kobe is one of the few legends who actually gives Bron the credit and props he deserves. Imo all he's saying is Bron should instill the darker side of leader ship so to speak lol,more so a different approach.Telling them how it is, getting in their faces, holding his teammates accountable and less pat on the back moments.whether u like it or not making your teammates is really more than just passsing to them when their open.Like imprinting his mindset in them

      He was their leading scorer cause Kobe deferred like a great player does when you have a 300lb behemoth in paint. Shaq needed a player like to win 3 rings. If Kobe isn't there, Shaq wins nothing. He needed a guard like Wade to win a ring. Not a Kobe fan, just facts.

  • @battlecat403
    @battlecat403 Před 6 lety +94

    Lebron had to win by teaming up with Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love. Kobe was only in his early 20s when he was with Shaq and won 3 titles in a row. Did it again in his late 20s early 30s by winning 2 titles with Pau who doesn't even have the same numbers as nearly all of those players Lebron teamed up with. Kobe had less help than Lebron and still won 2 titles in a row - let that sink in.

    • @herbertnelsonjr.9899
      @herbertnelsonjr.9899 Před 6 lety +6

      Philly Watts What stats are you talking about? Wins and losses is the most important stat. Longevity stats are not better than per/gm stats. Quality is better than quantity. And while you are doing stats include, defensive stats, turnovers, free throws, scoring titles, season and playoffs scoring averages, steals and blocked shots. Jordan beats LeBron in every statistical category except turnovers. LeBron only beats Jordan by 1 assist/ gm, and 1.5 rebounds/ gm. Jordan has 10 seasons where he scored more points than LeBron. He has 11 seasons where he has more steals and blocked shots. Defensive player of the year award. 9× defensive first team. Third all time in steals. If LeBron plays 20 yrs he will not have better per game averages than Jordan. Jordan has highest PER in NBA history. Most efficient player and best two way player in NBA history. Jordan is the GOAT because of sustained brilliance. Every year he scored more points than any other NBA player. Longevity has its place but quality is better than quantity. Per game stats tell a true story of a players impact in real time. Career accumulative stats are a function of endurance and not skill or will. If you play long enough you will get career records. But give me one year where you average 37.1 pts/gm and have over 3 steals/gm, with 131 blocks. Jordan has highest scoring average in NBA history, regular season, playoffs, and finals. Third all time in steals. LeBron is not in the top ten in any category. Rebounds, assist, etc.... Not in top ten except in scoring. But not scoring average, which is a better barometer than cumulative #'s. If you play 15 years you should have some attainments. Jordan basically accumulated his stats in 11 years. The two years in Washington diminished his career stats, and yet he is still #1, even above Chamberlain at #2.

      Josh Ruiz lebron had Wade and bosh and lost to Dirk with a bunch of role players. No excuses. Lebron has played on teams where he was the favorite and lost

    Not raising beef but kobe at the same age had been plagued by injuries, enters and practice in arena early and leaves last. And still plays hard from 1st qrtr to last. Wants the ball at end game.
    My point is, kobe does alot in terms of preparation, during and after the game more than lebron and lebron still arguing about fatigue? I dont really buy it. Mj had problems with fatigue too but he finishes the game even if it is double OT. Theres something wrong about lebron.
    Kobe indeed is alot closer to jordan in terms competitiveness and motivation.

      nephz ice and how do you know how much work Lebron puts into basketball? Just because someone doesn’t talk about it doesn’t mean he’s not putting in work. You don’t become the best player on the planet by sitting around playing fortnite.

      @realnsenpai Před 6 lety +1

      Sam Smith why are u mad? I never said he didnt work himself out. Even bench players put some work. Cut your nonsense. Like i said theres no beef here. Im just telling u somethings wrong about your idol. *And yes he did point out in post game that hes tired because the media thinks he lack something* he actually raised his voice about it.
      Well i dont think u could defend this. Basketball fans in general knows. *Of course lebron fans will argue non stop and mob this comment* doesnt matter.
      *Kobe work ethics > lebron work ethics*
      Deal with it bro.

      nephz ice clearly there is beef if you basically just attacked his will to play and basically saying he doesn’t prepare enough and doesn’t want the ball at the end of the game. Sorry if I just took your comment and flipped it on it’s head and you don’t like it. And just because you say no beef here doesn’t mean shit that’s like saying I’m not racist and then telling a racist joke.

    Kobe is more skilled than LeBron. And that's coming from asking 50 of the biggest skill trainers in America. Let's get people who don't understand the game off TV like Nick Wright and Cowherd.

      @PGO_Gaming Před 6 lety +5

      People don't understand this concept. They see statistics and they equate that with real skill and that isn't the case. Statistics are easy to come by in this NBA. LeBron is one of the uglier players we have seen in basketball. He has no post game, he has mid-range game, his jump-shot is erratic, he doesn't shoot free throws well, his handle is suspect, and he is not a great on the ball defender. Those are all facts.

      Andrew singleton Triple threat, 1 dribble pull-up, 2 dribble pull-up, fade away, fall away, on ball defense, pump fake, 1 legged shot, catch and shoot, handle, Hakeem dream shake, sky hook, back to basket from elbow, back to basket from block... I could go on... if he had LeBron body it be game over. Think about it.. he's most difficult shot maker of all time. Now make the shots easier because he is taller and bigger? Be scary. Especially w his dominance in the paint. What stats don't show is that equality of outcome isn't equated with equal opportunity. CP3 doesn't have same equal opportunity as Shaq for obvious reasons so of course one person is gonna have better FG pct, etc but it doesn't show who is more skilled. Trust me there are levels to understanding bball. The people who develop players say Kobe is more skilled and that is revealing.
