You knock someone out with the bat, he stays on the ground and if you don't hit him on the ground he will stay alive. Others may call ambulance that takes him, or he might even get up himself and try going away
GTA 5
You knock someone down with the bat, ambulance comes, they say he is dead and leave body there

You can die from a baseball bat. It's not illogic.
@@13manuel84 as you said "you can" not you will. You can die, but it's not common, especially when the hit can possibly fracture the skull you won't die immediately, looking at the game, there are two animations. One is hit in the head which can as I said fracture the skull but the way I see it you would still be able to run out of his sight, it of course depends how strong the hit was, in the worst case you would indeed get knocked out and unless there is ambulance around the corner your chance of survival is little. But you still breathe and if they have enough equipment in ambulance (that depends on countries too) they can keep you alive until you arrive into the hospital. Other swing animation was into the ribs, and yes. You will have broken ribs and it will hurt a lot, in that case you will not be knocked out or killed like in gta 5. You will be able to sort of run. Broken ribs have nothing to do with legs, that's true but every step will be like someone put a knife into your ribs so you'll be able to hardly run until you'll be far enough, then since this isn't lethal hit at all you can just call yourself an ambulance.
And from what you could read up there you can see GTA 4 is far more realistic than GTA 5. In GTA 5, you can't knock people out and not even the ambulance can help them since developers were too lazy or didn't saw it as a priority, however that's that.

Anyways you said "don't judge a game by its cover", well you might found useful to know that I finished GTA 4 campaign once, had a lot of fun inside and outside of the missions, found all the seagulls, saw the heart of liberty, advertisements at the triangle and even did some police missions which unfortunately weren't in GTA 5 :/
Anyways I played GTA 5 as well, I think I finished story mode twice but never 100% just main missions and some strangers and freaks. I know there were are collectibles too but the map was too big for me to find all of them. Also the map in my humble opinion wasn't very interesting either because only 1/3 of it was civilization and unfortunately, most of it were hills which did offered nice view, but that's about it. Though it's safe to say GTA 5 was a great game! And I don't want you to believe GTA 4 is better, we all have opinions, and you know mine. We are able to share our opinions and I would like to hear yours too, it would be nice to act a bit more polite while doing so though :)

The combat for the Baseball Bat in GTA IV is so satisfying imo.
