    What would you change about this setup?

      Perhaps booming the shotgun on camera mics but I'm being nit-picky since there's already a ton of redundancy here.

    Very nice (BTS) video with a clear, concise explanation of how you set the project and why/how you use the hardware the way you have it setup. I learned a lot, well done and Thank you. 👍

    Kri, this is a nice light set up, very well done and well thought out. We use a similar set up as well. The only thing that I would change would be adding time code generation to each of the cameras. Deity makes a three pack and you can buy their multi-port accessory to it for the FX3s. That accessory only works with the Fx3 or fx30.
    This will allow you to embed the audio with the FX3 and with the A7RV, you would use the included cable to embed audio through the left channel. This will make sinking audio super easy, like drag and drop. Time code generation will change your life.

      I do really need to do this. Thanks for the push!

    Thanks for sharing Kri, as always a very insightful video. Love the setup! 🔥

    That’s a really cool setup Kri. Are you capturing in 1080p? I would imagine you are for hour+ long episodes. Also quite curious about the industry these podcast episodes are geared toward.

      Thanks, Gary! I record podcast episodes in 1080 and it's important to note that the ATEM Mini Pro ISO maxes out at 1080 even if your camera settings are in 4k. If you must have 4k, you can edit the 1080 files (easier to work with) and replace them with 4k in the edit, but you have to capture 4k directly from your cameras using SD Cards or if your camera allows it, to an external SSD.

      @@kriedholm I thought so. I bought one of those rugged ATEM boxes but have not used it yet, but I hope to capture interviews using a similar workflow. Only exception in my setup would be audio into a Tascam portacapture, then into the ATEM. What industry is the topic?

      @@GaryStockton This one is commercial real estate, but I produce podcasts for a wide variety of industries. As long as the conversation is compelling, this medium works very well!

      Very informative video. Thank you for sharing. Out of curiosity, after you record & edit the podcast episodes, do your clients take care of the distribution portion of the process (adding it to their website, CZcams Channel, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc…)? Or do you offer that service as well? Thru my own personal experience I’ve learned that business owners want a podcast recorded & edited, but they often don’t really know how to get them to the different platforms for consumption.
      And your set up is great. I wouldn’t change a thing.

    Can I use the a6700 to record podcast?

    • @kriedholm
      @kriedholm  Před 10 dny

      Yes, but I recommend shooting in 1080 if you plan on recording for a long period of time with the a6700. You could run into overheating issues otherwise.
