The motion on that back wheel suspension is a money shot. You can really see the impact the shocks are absorbing. I'm sure your body thanks you at the end of the day. Great video.
Great to see someone that gets it that most of the viewers wanna Actually SEE the suspension working. You did a jam up job on capturing that (love what Ferris did my heart is set on that z3x but my closest dealer is an HR drive. Thanks again.
@@JsCrazyCutzLLC please update us on any mechanical issues / gear drive maintenance/ or issues etc... Only thing I don't like is having to grease on the Ferris. Thanks again.
@@6bt_str864 greasing the Ferris can be a pain! Not sure if you checked out my other video's talking about the Oil Guard system, the 1000hr review and the trans axle oil change but, I covered a few things on those 😉
I run an IS2600Z & it's trully worth every penny. I've got 4 neck vertebrae & 5 lumbar verts fused. This machine is a life changer when mowing lumpy bahia pasture land.
Back in 2007 I bought a simplicity citation which was the cousin to the Ferris IS 1500 zero turn mower. It also had the shocked on it. Man that made tge ride much smoother. When I buy another zero turn mower in a year or so I am going to be purchasing a ferris 2100 or 3200 models.
Interesting that the rod is up in this installation. Typically, you install the rod down to ensure the piston seals are lubricated. Are the shocks covered by the 5-year warranty?
The shocks are covered under 2 year unlimited hour or 4 year 400 hour warranty but, these shocks were still functional ( not busted or leaking) These shocks just got a bit sloppy after we put a 1000 hours on them.
Wow! That's some pricey shocks. lol I think the back ones have a higher charge of gas to make up for the weight of the motor. The front ones should have a lighter charge so they are not to stiff. That Ferris runs really good! Is the ride better on it? I really like the different camera shots! It really show's what torcher the suspension system takes. I enjoyed watching J!! Have a good week!!
Hey, I didn't even think of the amount of pressure in the shocks. Your probably right John. It definitely made a difference. It's a stiffer ride but, it responds a lot better. Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and have a good one 🙄
I bought a ferris 2100 in 2008. Still mowing with it in 2020. It's a mowing machine. I just cant figure out why more companies hadnt followed this shock design. It's so smooth. I guess maybe cut quality is not as good as some but I would rather save my back than have a little better cut. Its cuts fine tho. I have a little over 1000 hrs on meter. Engine is 30 horse vangaurd big block which was made in japan ,now they made in georgia. I know my big block is second to no small engine made.i feel like The mower will fall apart before the engine goes. Deck belt lasted 900 plus hours and only reason it went was one of idler puller bearings was bad and caused wear on belt.
I absolutely agree! There isn't any mower that compares to the Ferris when it comes to ride and handling 😉 I'm pretty sure Ferris isn't gonna let the patent expire on their suspension design. I've been very impressed with the 2 Ferris mowers that I have. The Vanguard engines are fantastic too! Thanks for watching
Oh man!! I remember the dang Chicken Hawk!! I'mma a chicken hawk huntin for a chicken, getz paranoid when I hear dem glocks clickin!! Hoping all is well Bud, Dirty Jersey out!!
i have the new stihl rz150 thats basically similar to the ferris. im honestly thinking of replacing the shocks with steel bar because my property is very rough and when i try going around things like trees, rocks it leaves crop circles due to the flexing of the suspension so the deck sinks and cuts the grass lower
Sounds like your deck is un level or you may have uneven tire pressure 🤔 The Patented suspension is designed to work in concert with each other. Let a Ferris dealer look at it and make sure everything is as it should be.
i have ferris in estonia and it's Brilliant !!!!!!!...much less hit's for body and so on :D15h of day job not a problem anymore.before i had ariens apex 52 and it was pain !!!!
I have the same mower what made you change them? Was it a ride difference or cut height off? This machine has 1000hrs but is new to me so not sure how it should ride however the cut height seems off tends to scalp in few places look forward to your reply
Are you referring to your mower scalping? 🤔 If so, you may need to adjust your shocks to a much stiffer setting 😉☝️or you are simply cutting to low for that particular property 🤷 probably start with checking the tire pressures ( 15 lbs ) in rear ( 20 lbs ) for the front , then verify if your cut height is correct by measuring from the blades to the ground while parked on flat level surface.
The shocks are the highest setting and move a lot. I ordered some new trunnions for the front . Then i will go through and set everything . What made you change your shocks?
@@dave44052 They didn't have the support that they had when they were new. After a 1000 hrs , they seemed a bit too soft ( mower flopping around a bit ) even with the springs set as stiff as possible. I could actually notice a difference after replacing them.
I’m may buy a 3300 Ferris for my lawn and ruff graded woods are, also mowing around ponds with slope. How many hours are on your machine and would you recommend? Any issues with your machine? Great video...if you checkout my latest videos you can see where I’m mowing.
I have a Ferris ISX 800 52” with 41 hours on it and my rear suspension does not articulate like that lately. I have been getting a rough ride and bouncing like there is no shocks back there. It has been riding like a fixed frame mower in the rear. Any ideas besides contacting Ferris for replacement rear shocks since it is under warranty.
🤔...I would bring it in for service. Maybe the shocks aren't turned up on the adjustments 🤷♂️ I busted one of my front shocks before at about 200hrs. They replaced both fronts for me under warranty.
J's Crazy Cutz, LLC I still have them on the factory setting on the rear and front are adjusted where you have them to prevent front scalping when slowing down.
if you has to buy again what would you get toro exmark ferris john deere wight etc? that's kinda high for shocks. I saw te 3300 are bigger would they work?
I can honestly say after using Ferris for the past few years that it is my first choice of mower. Nothing rides as well as Ferris. The Vanguard engines equipped with Oil Guard are superior in my opinion. It doesn't have the best cut quality compared to ExMark or Toro but,the cut quality from the Ferris is consistent no matter what grass type ( wet or dry) ( thick or thin) grass! The Ferris cutting deck doesn't care! I will always have Ferris in my arsenal of mowers😎👍
Just wondering why you didn't grease the shock bolts ? Not criticizing, just curious, as we always do that on our motocross shocks. Thanks and thumbs up ! Edit: We also do this to all the suspension pivot points to ensure the smoothest of movement, for the best ride.
I had a suspension seat on the mower when I purchased it. I found the shocks and suspension seat didn't work well together . The my ride works well but, the Ferris is far superior in my opinion. I've rode both mowers before. Thanks for watching 👍
I haven’t seen anybody do this yet but I put a suspension seat with the myride and it’s very smooth.. I’ve never ridden a Ferris though and would like to, they look great and the ride quality looks awesome too. Thanks
