I love this ruler; always recommend it, and I have had it for several years. It's an MVP. I have a couple of items for you to consider. (1) Unless you want tiny HST's (and many do; I don't), consider cutting the replacement corners from a strip (the size of the square needed)using the ruler. You can slightly oversize the strip if needed (I find scant 1/4 on sew works as well) to ensure a uniform fill for the cut away.(2) Using this ruler you can speed your HST cuts along by cutting rectangles from your strips, and then setting the ruler once and cutting once. Simple at .75 (3/8 + 3/8) which is the measure of the flat top for the 1/4" seam allowance. By adding 2 x you get the flat top for both units. It's a huge time saver without any sacrifice of accuracy. This ruler is great for squaring up flying geese units too.
This ruler has many other uses--to include pre mitering your binding strips for perfect alignment-- because there are not too many rulers that have the level of 90 degree markings perpendicular to the diagonal that this ruler does. Great for trimming HST's when using the seamline method.
