I'm watching this again because my mom loved this movie! She watched it with me on the Disney channel in the early 2000s even though she never usually watched films, and she absolutely loved it. Thought "sir boss" was hilarious! She passed away in 2012 and thinking about the moments she experienced joy always makes me happy, like watching this :) thank you Whoopi!
Despite the flaws- and I don't actually mind some of them- this movie was a piece of my childhood. I was obsessed with knights and castles. Knights may be younger than barbarian tribes, but there is something so ancient about them. Then again, Earth has seen Man return to The Stone Age about a dozen times. But anyway- I had a Playmobil Knight set, and I created my own little medieval fantasy world, the way I think The Medieval Ages should have been. And seeing Sagramore on a charger, sheathed in steel and his coat-of-arms, lance in hand, and the music in the background, it is magical to me.
Disney has been holding out on me. I used to watch that channel everyday as a kid to late teens, why have I never seen this? After I watch this I'm gonna see if there are any others. This is great. I was always curious as to what experience an African American person would have if they were sent to the past. I know this is purely for comedic relief and not very accurate but it's so interesting!
Whoopi Goldberg said she wanted to play the Role of the Doctor from Doctor Who. I can see totally see her in the role and it's a shame she was turned down.

@@paullennon8366 Exactly, a lot of people don't seem to understand that. They think Monmouth etc, believed that Arthur actually lived in the 12th century. Nope. Even then the stories and legends were placed in the far distant past.
Forgot how wrong this movie is on so many levels. Even thought King Arthur was not real they make him look really bad. It's pretty annoying how annoying it is. Slave owner, kills people just because, treats his subjects like they're animals... Just so much wrong with this King Arthur.

I guess this movie was the one inspired the 2001 movie with Martin Lawrence, The Black Knight, also good but not as good as this one in my opinion.
