I visited the parents of a friend years back and they had one of these pre-fab glass solariums on the back of their house. It was winter with snow on the ground but the sun was shining and it was HOT in there. Good job Guys!!

Looks awesome you got to show it after Molly puts her plants in it and gets it fixed up. Put those stone things on the bottom where the cement is would look really nice since you do the labor would be more affordable. You certainly must of paid attention to your Dad when you were growing up cause you have some excellent skills. Molly is lucky big difference between buying materials for a project and then when the labor is added in big price difference she is lucky to have a husband who knows something most guys are not very handy anymore. I know more than some of them and that isn’t saying much 😂.

Whatever you put around the base of the solarium (you mentioned rock), you should plan on putting it around your entire house, for continuity and beauty!!

No. It's just a block wall. It follows standard building code.. :)
Any comments on the designing, purchase, delivery process with Florian? The reviews around the Internet seem up and down. Thanks
It was very straight forward. It was ready when they said it would be. I went and picked it up to I cant say anything about the delivery. I would work with them again.
I have a similar sunroom with glass roof, 15 years of age on it and now experiencing water leaks on the eave (lower edge). Any ideas of how to fix this. I have used water sealant but still getting leaks when it rains heavy
It all depends on where its coming from. I suggest having someone on the outside spray it with a garden hose and watch from the inside. Start low and work your way toward the top. That will show you where it is coming in. Then, clean the area on the outside with alcohol then apply silicone.
Is the ceiling glass any % low-e ?
Any idea what % affects growth negatively?
Yes its low-e. Its designed to grow under. IDK how much is too much.
I have one Question, Considering how heavy glass is why not use plexiglass wouldn't that even be safer ??
Nope. Plastic will scratch. I was walking on the tempered glass. I'd say its good.. :)

hey empty -how much can a not so do it yourselfer expect to pay for that build?
We don't know what the installation costs are. The company I got it from has contractors that install them but I didn't go that route. I'm not sure.

The problem is there are a lot of not very handy people that want these things but don't know if they can afford it. So a base line figure would give us something to work with when we are getting estimates-
A very handy person doesn't have to worry as much because most of the labor will be done themselves and the cost of materials is easier for them to figure out because of their experience.
So I see a lot of these videos and they are just not helpful to people like me.
The size solarium we installed would have been $25k+ to have it installed NOT including the foundation work and slab.. You could easily add another $20k for that. I cant give you the exact price we paid because it changes depending on what you want and the market. You can go to their website and easily put in what you want and get a price immediately at no cost. Hope this helps..
