@@froyvm7868 It is a verb that shows action on the part of the one repenting .A spiritually dead person(the unbeliever) cannot repent of sin , where it would mean anything or help him gain salvation .He or she can only repent or change their mind about the person of Jesus Christ.
this is nonsense. God repented more than any other in the bible. repent means to change direction; it is not used once in the book of John, the book written specifically to get people saved. it is used often , for example, in the book of Acts..but not in relationship to salvation. Adding ..of sin to repentance is an invention of men hell-bent to infuse work salvation into perhaps the clearest doctrine about the entire bible: BELIEVE.
You are correct..I would like to add if I may To Change direction ,direction would be the object of repent ,a transitive verb in the Greek that demands an object. In salvation the change of mind ,the object is always a change of mind about Jesus Christ.
Jesus is talking about sin. “If you love Me you will keep my commandments” Obedience to Gods commands is always It’s an outcome of a true conversion. God saves a man with no work of His own. But the heart always follows in constant repentance of sins.

Trust in Christ.
