- This is by no means a show of dogfighting skill. Quite the opposite, actually. :p
Server: DCS Dogfighters
This stick is awesome, and I love it to bits. It is force-sensing, so there is very little movement in the stick even at full deflection. You can find it here: realsimulator.com/
This server looks nuts, I will have to check it out for sure
Thanks for this. There aren't many vids of this stick online and peoples thoughts about it. Would you be able to make a video about using it with helos or non-fly by wire aircraft? Was interested how this tick would fare as a durable all in one solution. What are your thoughts on it so far?
It works way better than I had expected for non-FBW aircraft. I feel very confident using it with any fixed-wing in DCS.
For helicopters it is a little bit weird to get used to, but I actually found there to be an advantage over traditional sticks when it comes to trimming. Since the return to center is instant, you can trim and return to center very quickly and easily. It can sometimes get a little weird to control if you have the max force cranked up like I do, but on the RealSimulator stick grip there's a wheel around the trim hat for mode selection. I keep a lower max weight (more sensitive) mode on there for flying helicopters so when I want to hold a position, I'm not holding 10 pounds on my stick lol.
I'll probably make a video of helicopter flying and non-FBW with it. I don't think there are any videos at all for that, really.
@@CaptPickguard Thank you! sounds promising then :)
@@CaptPickguard please do so. I’m interested in this stick myself but can’t find any info on it other than using it with fbw.
Epbic!
Is this the lightning out the ultra? Any dead zone issues? I’m contemplating an upgrade from my winwing, as the ww has an annoying dead zone
This is the Lighting. The Ultra has a bit more movement (though not much) and is probably prefferable. It came out after I bought mine.
There is absolutely no deadzone at all. The WinWing one does kind of a hybrid approach with part of the axis being traditional and part of the axis being force-sensing. This is just all force-sensing.
Why is the stick moving so much in the video? What's it mounted to? your chair?
Indeed. The movement comes from the chair mount.
Is this the one with the antislip grip?
