For those wondering, this system can also be controlled using Amazon and Google home automation products. Thanks for watching!
Hi, can you add other eufy cameras that are not the S330 cams to the homebase 3? What I am asking is.. Are other Eufy cameras compatible as an add on cam?
@@clipow yes
@@electronicsNmore Awesome..Thanks for the reply.
This is the best review I've seen on this product. I was confused about the short distance of the motion trigger range but you covered that and now I feel I understand perfectly. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Be sure to check out my extensive video playlists and share my channel with others. Thank you
Another amazing review! Thank you for all the time and effort you put into your reviews and I'm forward to your next review!
Mutual admiration society! Plus I love both channels, so it's nice to see you here too.
That's a nice looking setup. Thanks for the review. The only thing I don't like about it is having to set up an account. I really don't want some random company with my private data... I wish it was 100% stand alone in that regard, with no account needed...
If you don't have an account, then when you're away from your home using your smartphone through the internet you won't be able to access your system.
@@electronicsNmore You could open a port thru your home firewall/router. However then you are responsible for security and in practice individuals are millions of times more likely to have a security problem than a professionally managed system.
I tried too many cameras as Arlo, google nest, amazon cameras but this is the best... Easy set up ,fast to load videos...
Great review. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
Anker usually makes good products. Thanks for the review!
Nice. I'm waiting for a color night camera from TP-Link but it's not as sophisticated as this setup which has a lot of great features. I'm surprised no one seems to be addressing Wi-Fi jammers and what happens if cameras lose their connections. Also, have you tried any of the screen recorder apps for your phone? Then the steps would be clear regardless of the state of your screen.
That's one big reason why I like wired cameras, you cannot interrupt the connection. If you have a Wi-Fi Jammer in your hand, it will definitely shut the camera down the only problem is you may have to get too close to it and be spotted first before it shuts down. Yes I thought about installing that on my phone, maybe next time. Thanks for watching
@@electronicsNmore Thanks. I've just noticed my handle. I think I typed that in in anger years ago....
Have you had any issues/interruptions with the camera WiFi signal strength? I noticed that the cameras are resting on top of your gutters.
Can you add more camera s to this system later on
Cool 👍🏻😎

what is your opinion on the HB3 base
Sorry,... I'm all new to this, .... I know this may be a real silly question, but do you have to have a smartphone for this security camera system to work or to work properly? ..... Can I just do it all on my Mac computer?
Question: is this system using wifi or a dedicated camera radio frequency? Did you test for distances beyond which the camera loses touch?
Great question. I never entered my wifi password when installing the system, so I would think each camera communicates with the home base using a different frequency.
Hi I am new subscriber and have a question about microwaves. I have a Sharp Carousel II Convection microwave model R-8290A 650W manufactured Feb 1990. I watched all your microwave videos but have not found the issue I have in any you made nore can I find it anywhere else. My problem is when the unit is off with the door shut the light and the turntable continue to stay on. I have taken apart the unit and changed all the capacitors on the board, pulled all the door switches and cleaned and checked that they are all working. If I put a glass of water in the microwave it will work heating the water but then take out the glass shut the door and the light stays on and the turntable continues to turn. I am at a loss as to what is causing this. If I had a schematic for the electronic board and the unit I could trace it out but can not find a schematic anywhere and contacting SHARP they say there is none to be had. There is a general power schematic glued to the cover but it does not show the details of the electronic board its components and specs. What advice can you give me? Do you know where I can get a schematic for this unit or how I can diagnose the problem? Thank you for any help.
Human recognition? It just keeps getting better and better
Great review as usual. Do the cameras communicate directly with the base station or to your wifi network? (range issues)
Thank you Karl! I never entered any wifi password during the setup process, so I guess it uses a different frequency.
@@electronicsNmore Apparently, a wifi version is forthcoming.
Does this system require a smart phone for running the app? I have a flip phone that can’t install apps. Is there a PC option instead?
Yes. Only able to set it up using a smartphone.
Hey just so you know there are some major privacy issues with eufy/anker. They upload and keep your photos with face recognition data even after your account has been deleted.
Thanks Electric 🚹.
You're welcome Ed!
can use it with just home base and no router / account ??
Once the system is set up, you can disconnect the ethernet cable and the system will still record all cameras, but you will not be able to use the app. To see the videos, you'll need to remove the hard drive or unplug a USB storage device.
What if someone threw a towel or cover over the camera will the alarm go off?
Or spray painting it?
If you have the camera on away mode, when the towel is thrown on the camera motion will be detected and the alarm will sound.
Seems like a pretty nice system. I wish I knew about the capabilities of other systems, like Ring and others, before buying my SimpliSafe system on a friend's recommendation. I usually check things out first, for myself, but I took her word for it. Believe me, it's not hard to do better than SimpliSafe.
Thanks for watching!
You said "hard drive" is that in the form of an SD card?
SSD
@@electronicsNmoreHow Odd? That could've been done with micro storage card. At about 19:30 you show Settings, General, Storage.... then you say something along the lines of: of course I have an SSD drive .... (skipping over options). Are there other storage options listed under that category that you are aware of?
@@ComputerGuyAndy Options are RTSP (real-time streaming protoco)l or NAS. Of course you can also have cloud storage. System can also be controlled using Amazon or Google home automation products. To reduce the length of the video, which is already long, I don't mention every little detail of the product.
@@electronicsNmore I know, I've been following you for years. It doesn't matter if you cover every last thing because you always answer questions which is incredible. Thank You!
Please address the invasion of privacy issues with some customers video & images being leaked onto internet please. Then i will buy.
second view is mine
What do you do if somebody gets in the house and steals the base station with all the video?
You can also save the video to Cloud
can i do voice over on your video i am indian
I just snagged an S40 for $70 off. 😁
Good deal. :-)

DO NOT USE EUFY Products. This system claims to be local only but uploads images/video to the cloud and the security is so easy to get around that people could tap into your system and watch you from the internet. This is from a product that claims to be a local only solution. Made by ANKER, I wouldn't buy anything from them until they resolve the issues.
Yes I read this somewhere else also . Invasion of privacy. 👎🏽
Buyers beware, the camera comes with a significant lag. Human detection on cameras comes with a lag of 3-4 seconds which is good enough for any intruder to gain access to your door or window. Not exactly an effective camera security system.
Not lag, it's when the motion is first detected. It may not be as early as you like.
@@electronicsNmore 3-4 seconds for camera to wake up and record/notify is normal behavior? That’s what Eufy support also said. So in 3-4 seconds an intruder might get past the camera and go undetected. This is precisely what is happening with my setup. Many times, camera simply fails to detect even though the claimed range is 25 ft. Your review is good but it fails to talk about the elephant in the room … it’s supposed to be a security device not a fancy tech toy!
This lag of 3-4 seconds in camera waking up also impacts the range of human detection. Effective range of human detection gets reduced to barely 6-7 ft as opposed to the claim of 25 ft because the camera wake up too late provided the intruder has not already gotten past the camera field of vision. No intruder is going to amble into your premises at an easy pace for cameras to work. 😊
Connect my security system to an unknown/untrusted third party? Sounds seriously compromising to me.
Disconnect the ethernet cable after setup and use a USB storage device on the home base. You will not be able to use the app.
@@electronicsNmore That's a good compromise.
You're going to fast
DO NOT BUY THIS: If someone steals your camera they can erase your whole homebase data by holding the reset button
LOOK IT UP TRUST ME
Already contacted the company and demanded a firmware update to correct the problem. The files remain on my hard drive, but you cannot see them using the app.
@@electronicsNmoreI was ready to pull the trigger $799 four cameras system but came to a halt when I find out about the reset button issue. I’m waiting for them to fix it first.
